Is it just me or does Thraben Doomsayer look like Harvey Dent?

Has anyone else got Avacyn Fatigue now? I mean, I love the idea that the symbol is an element tying a lot of things together. But it just seems to be on any card at all* involving non-Skirsdag humans, and that just makes me feel overloaded by it, not pleased to catch sight of it.

*Yes, this is an exaggeration.
The symbol is formed by Thraben Doomsayer's lapels when he pulls his coat closed.
gavin mentions the idea of sacrificing a phyrexian metamorph to fetch vorapede, but I'm fairly certian this only work is if the metamorph was copying another four-drop. CMC is a copiable value, I believe.
Nitpick: Phyrexian Metamorph copies mana cost, so it's not likely it'll be searching up Vorapede for you, unless you (or your opponent) already had something out with cmc 4.

Please feel free to copy this message into your sig.

Uhh...just feel I should point out that there's a glaring error in today's Daily Deck post.  The article points out that you can copy Stormbound Geist with Phyrexian Metamorph, and then pod away the metamorph into a Vorapede or Acidic Slime, when that simply isn't true.  As a copy of Geist, the Metamorph's CMC is 3, not 4, so you can only pod it into another Metamorph.

The original article that's linked to even points out that you can't actually ever pod into a 5-drop in the deck.  Which seems incredibly silly to me, but nonetheless.

What the hell, guys?  You're telling people to go run this deck at FNM tonight, and then blatantly misinform players how to even play the thing.  I usually don't get all uppity about little mistakes on the site, trust me I know how tough it is to keep errors out of stuff like this, but this one is pretty blatant and potentially harmful to your audience.  I'd fix it ASAP if at all possible.
Here are the five Cards of the Day for this week:

The plot of every episode of Law & Order. It starts with a gruesome discovery, followed by a careful study of the scene, asking several people several questions, an arrest, and a decree of justice.

Oke, the thing is, if you really want you basicly copy a creature with undying, sack it to find something again, but this time your original Phyrexian Metamorph can comeback as a plain 4 cmc Phyrexian Metamorph with a +1/+1 counter on it. The result is that NOW it can find the Vorapede. And if you do it, you find a new Phyrexian Metamorph to copy a creature with undying, and as soon as that one dies it can comeback as a Vorapede

Complex? yes, vunerable to tricks which just do a -1/-1 or 1 damage to a creature? Extremely.. Like the writer of the original article said, it is easier to just work up the mana and hardcast them.

personally i think a singleton of Skinrender, Hellrider, Dungeon Geists, Entomber Exarch or Solemn Simulacrum Depending on your taste would work great here though.
Ok, I came here just to thank Monty (or whoever makes the wallpapers of the week) for only keeping the most necessary part of that terribly ugly frame that was present in previous wallpapers. Thank you, now I'm sure the wallpapers will look extremely better!

The deck from Alex Hottmann in today's Daily Deck List appears to be missing two cards.  They're probably Venser the Sojourner.
I'd say more likely the two missing cards are 4-cmc creatures, since the list as shown has only two.  My guess would be a Solemn Simulacrum and a Phyrexian Metamorph.
The Kev Walker Undying Evil sketch is awesome

Since the list has Stonehorn Dignitary, that highly suggests at least one Venser, since there's little reason to include that card if it's only a one-turn stop against aggro.
the "ne" in nezumi is pronounced "neh" not "ney".
Interesting. I don't remember ever having figured out (or thinking that I had figured out) the theme for the week from only two cards.

Looking forward to the rest of the series (and maybe confirmation of my suspicions).

The Cat, of course, refers to the story of the same name, "The Black Cat". I'm betting for Raven Familiar tomorrow

Here are the five Cards of the Day for this week:

Black Cat
Deathmask Nezumi
Buried Alive
Razor Pendulum
Nevermore

And the theme is:

Show
Edgar Allan Poe. Specifically, movies that were made based on Poe, but that's kind of specific.

Black Cat: The Black Cat (I was thinking of the 1941 film, which stars Basil Rathbone and also has Bela Lugosi)
Deathmask Nezumi: Masque of the Red Death. I was sad there wasn't a red "death"-related card in Mercadian Masques that I liked.
Buried Alive: The Premature Burial. This could also apply to a bunch of other Poe stories, but this is the cleanest example.
Razor Pendulum: The Pit and  the Pendulum. I also considered using the Ninth Edition Death Pits of Rath, which quotes the actual story in its flavor text.
Nevermore: The Raven. Obviously. Incidentally, four of the five movies were made by Roger Corman. The only one he didn't make was The Black Cat.
Show
Interesting, I always considered the original art of pestilence to be a reference to "Masque of the Red Death".

Thank you form making increasing confusion into wallpaper.

I love the are in that card.

Still wish they would have made Memory's Journey....
Well that is not the implementation of cube I was expecting. How disappointing.
Cube needed to be implemented but a limited time "play with our cube" event is kind of lacking, and doesn't really replicate the thrill of real cube.
can't wait to play in one of these cube events.  i wonder how many people will force mono red just because they've seen lsv do it
I love how this cube has Jace TMS, and Jace Beleren over, Jace, Memory Adept. I've always found playing cube that Memory Adepts 0 Ability is the best for limited, but the other 2 are just more fun : )
No Brain Freeze, Hedron Crab or Jace, Memory Adept?
WRT the arcana on 13th march, I'd like to point out my disappointment at these old formats being put on as single elimination queues. When I draft an old or awesome format (e.g IPA draft or cube) and I hardly ever get the chance to do so, I like being able to play a full 3 rounds.

It saddens me whenever I want to try and create a cool deck, it is impossible to truly do so for fear of it sucking and insta-losing round 1 (so hardly even being able to play the deck).

Just something I wanted to point out and I'm FAIRLY sure there are others who would agree.
Completely agree, also my friend has just come over and given me the same rant :D
lolol mono_green its brewher (unrelated)

But yes, you see? Others agree.
So today's daily deck has over $300 in planeswalkers alone. This is why so many people are turned off from actually entering tournaments.
Oh, he's doing Snow White this week.
Overall super excited. I always wanted to get my friends to 4-2-1-1 a cube but they never did not even a pack a person. Seems solid just don't like empty the warrens 90% of the time will just be 4 mana dragon fodder. Also wouldve like to see trickbind over stifle. Hitting a fetch land is cool but them being able to do nothing about it is sooooo much better.
Seems dumb to make a cube single elimination.  Runs counter to the way the format is intended to work. The only reason I can think of to make the cube 4-3-2-2 single elimination is to give players the absolute least value possible.  That does seem to be the trend for all wizards policy changes in the last year or so.
Dang, looks like a lot of angels are going to be in Avacyn Restored.
That sure is a lot of angel art work.....

Yea, I'm now positive the set is going to revolve around a war between Angels and Demons.
Yaaay! Whorish angels! How original! :/
