Magic 2012 Redemption OUT OF STOCK

Any idea why/when this happened?  There was plenty of inventory in the store before downtime?  Was this taken off the shelf for a temporary warehouse count or is it out of stock right now?

If it is out of stock, when can we expect a reprint to arrive?
Hi Anchorman,

We are of the issue and are working to correct it as soon as possible.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

What does this mean?  is it out of stock or is it just an "issue" that someone screwed up?
It only means that the company ran out of cardboard, or ink, for the moment. they'll be back in business as soon as the deliverytruck gets there.

Ref: US Mint, running out of gold blanks to mint AGE's and Buffalos.
They scare people once in a while by saying that the minting is suspended.
The people, all fearfull, starts believing its doomsday, and start hoarding [Edited] for an over price when available again. captitalistic commercialism at its best.

Does WotC still even check these boards or has twitter left them obsolete?

No he is a VCL, a volunteer, if he worked for Wizards his name would start with "Wotc_".
"Leagues are coming and soon."

He has a W icon and if you hover your mouse over it it says "Staff".  I'm pretty sure that means he works for WotC.

In that case they've changed their naming policy for the worst.

Actually, he's not a VCL, where you do even see that?

His custom title?  "VCL Emeritus"

Do you know what emeritus means?  It means retired.  As in, many years ago, crazy monkey was a VCL, but he is no longer one, now he is WotC staff.

Solice's name, nor GamerZer0's started with WotC, this isn't a new practice.

English is not my native tongue, as should be readily apparent from my posts. I had no clue what Emeritus meant, otherwise I would not have said he was one, obviously. I guess "former" or "ex-" are to mundane words for monkeys.

"Emeritus" is an honorific that conveys a different impression than former or ex-: the person should still be given the honor and respect of their title, even though they are no longer pursuing it full-time. It is most commonly used in academia (Professor Emeritus). However, plenty of native speakers don't know the term; I think kaoshin was a little aggressive over that point.

And thus concludes the discussion about WotC Staff user names. We now return to the topic of out-of-stock redemptions.

Unfortunately, VCLs do not currently have the tools necessary to take moderation actions directly. VCLs submit their actions to ORCs, who then actually perform the action. This processing can take between a few minutes and several hours, depending on how busy/attentive the ORCs are.

If you see something that needs VCL attention, please use this thread to make a request and a VCL will look at it as soon as possible. CoC violations should be reported to Customer Service using the "report post" button. Please do not disrupt the thread by making requests of either kind in-thread.

I'm glad my thread got hijacked, thank you all.

Well, there's nothing you can really do about it except for complain.  There is no way to hold WotC accountable for keeping the redemption stocks...not well stocked.  You made the complaint, there is literally nothing left to do except for wait.

I'm not sure if they just do a poor job with predicting redemption demand (I kinda think this) or if you redeemers are timing mass redemption in a way that is unpredictable.

Well, it is kind of silly that Anchorman can't get a specific answer to his question as to the reason why. If, as he says, there were plenty of sets available for redemption before downtime and then they all disappeared after, it would be reasonable to wonder if it's a temporary glitch that could be fixed with the next downtime or is it a matter of waiting for another print run.

Due to much experience with MTGO I interpret "as soon as possible" as anywhere from 1 hour to 3 years. So, a better idea of the actual problem would be helpful.

Sorry! It must really suck to be suddenly confronted with an out of stock product and not getting any reply but: "Yes we know.".

word on the street is that the M12 print run that you had in stock was defective and lacking even set distribution.  any comments from wotc?  how far back do these defective sets go?  is it across the board or do i need to check every set over the last month?
