Yup, just like you can have Birds of paradise in a mono green deck but not Noble Hierarch. YAY COLOR IDENTITY

I love this description. Like the cows are sponges filled with milk. I can see it all Nick Parks claymation-style with the cow's eyes bugging out momentarily as a giant farmer squeezes it like a squeaky dog toy, and milk shoots out of it.

Extremely annoying. I already have a personal vendetta against Wurmcoil Engine; now it seems I have to add this card to the list for granting the two most annoying abilities to all creatures.

Also, let me be the first to speculate that this is part of an enemy-color cycle of lands that do things, similar to the Innistrad cycle.
Loving it.  Sorin loves it too.  Though the lift link doesn't stack he doesn't mind having deathtouch on his vamps.
Pushing B/W tokens more and more, I see.

Huh, flavour text furthers speculation that Avacyn is Grislebrand...

That being said, good grief, what a dumb card to print.

A very scary card indeed. I could see this causing current Township Token decks to shift away from green entirely. Shifting to a B/W build would allow easy use of Sorin, this insane land, and whatever other sweet things get released.

The activation cost is costed just right as well!
Insanely good has to see play sorins vampire tokens having lifelink and deathtouch is pretty awesome.

Hope the rest of the cycle don't let us down but this is amazing.

If they keep printing lands like this they're going to have to give us something better than Ghost Quarter.
Yeah it's looking like we're gonna need Blood Moon in M13 or some kind of thing to prey on Non-basic lands. These lands are gonna start appearing in every deck that supports their colors if they keep up this power level...
Holy *BEEP*!  This card is really good.
Between Sorin being , this spell-land being likewise, and Avacyn's supergoth look, that seems a pretty good indicator that she'll be .
This is acceptable.

Jeez, this is better than Kessig Wolf Run. I have a feeling these are going to be expensive.

Hmm...maybe.  Green brings...8 manadorks to that deck, and Garruk (who isn't as good for a token deck as Sorin anyway, because Sorin has pump too).  Manadorks could be replaced with discard/doom blade I guess...although I don't like that you lose a body to pump with that swap.

But there is a question of what's better for a 1/1 token: a +1/+1 counter, or one turn of lifelink and deathtouch.  I think G/W tokens might beat B/W tokens in a head to head land activation fight.  The G/W tokens just win...or tie with a B/W activation.  If B/W attacks, G/W doesn't block, and then attacks back for much more.  If B/W does not attack, G/W just grows and grows.  I guess you could argue that B/W doesn't mind stall because they might be protecting Sorin, but G/W might be protecting Garruk who can build up to a trample alpha strike.

Against nontoken decks, B/W tokens will be left with a small number of 1/1 lifelinkers after deathtouch has cleared most of the board.  Great stuff, they're ahead...except they can't close out the game fast, and are thus vulnerable to crazy lategame antics (see: pod, etc).  I think the deck would have to change to be more of a control deck prepared for the lategame....

Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion except all creatures and for no extra cost?  I...am skeptical.  If nothing else, that would usually be bigger bang for the mana than Kessig Wolf Run.

Maybe if you upped the cost, though....

BURSTING WITH VIGOR!
Trolljuju wiped the sweat from his brow as he continued his slow trudge up the snowy mountain. The wind was strong and fiercely cold, but he pressed against it. Juju knew Beast Engine was somewhere at the peak, waiting for him. But this was not a matter of confronting the forces of nature themselves; that had been accomplished long before, and was now too easy to maintain the manly man's interest. Today, Beast Engine was here waiting for a friend. Trolljuju's mind drifted from his appointment to thoughts of Beast Engine's manliness. The only man in history to punch the fossilized remains of a dinosaur back to life just to punch it to death again. The man who deflected bullets with his pectoral muscles during his daily assassination attempts. The man who cured cancer with a serum made from pure crystalized virility. The man who burst with vigor. Not just a man but a Man- the manliest of all men. A god of masculinity in physical form. Trolljuju's heart fluttered at the memory of him and lightened his steps as he pressed on. Suddenly, he was shaken from his reverie by a deep, powerful rumble in the mountain that shook him to his core. Instinctively, he threw himself to the ground just before the slope ahead of him exploded in a fiery wall of light and heat. So great was the force that the entire upper section of the mountain was vaproized. It scorched Juju's coat, then rose on the air to drift far away, a plume of white-hot ash. When Trolljuju lifted his head to see what was left behind, he beheld a wide, perfectly flat stone plateau, and in the distance he could see a muscular figure, his foot still held up from the kick. There was no doubt it was Beast Engine. As soon as the ground beneath him cooled, Juju cast his heavy pack aside and ran. As the figure grew with closeness, he could see Beast Engine was nude, as was expected. The snow that fell near him turned to a thin wall of steam, looking to Trolljuju's eyes like a barrier. Engine was too strong, too manly to occupy the same space as the ordinary universe. He lived in a world all his own. But fortunately for Juju, it was only an illusion. He ran at full speed into Engine, who caught him with both arms and effortlessly twirled with him, resting with Juju dipped low to the ground in Engine's arms. "Beast Engine, my love," Trolljuju breathed, sturck with awe at Engine's masculine beauty despite the familiarity of his face. Engine just smiled, radiating from every inch of him with incredible strength, yet gentle warmth. "It's been so long, Juju. I've missed you." "Forgive me. I lost contact with you while you were boxing with Death to win back and consume the soul of Theodore Roosevelt. But now I'm here..." Juju lifted one tentative hand to Engine's face, but he pulled away. "You know I cannot give you what you seek. Were we to make love, your body would be destroyed by the force." "I know, of course I would," Juju responded, tears in his eyes. "May I have, at least, one kiss?" "Very well. For you, my friend." Slowly, gingerly, they came closer. But the moment their lips met, a flood of unbridled manliness rushed into Trolljuju, body and soul, and every cell in his body exploded. Beast Engine fell to his knees, and in his grief, he wept. The tears that fell from his face burned deep into the rock beneath him. But slowly, his sorrow turned to conviction. He beat the crap out of Death once. He could do it again.

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.
The cycle from ISD was vertical:

Moorland Haunt = UW
Nephalia Drownyard = 1UB
Gavony Township = 2WG
Stensia Bloodhall = 3BR
Kessig Wolf Run = XGR

What do you think the chances are that this cycle is vertical as well?

I think Draft is the best format in Magic.

I strive to be critical, rational and openminded.

This land, it utterly ridiculous, no matter how you look at it

I see Ghave EDH decks cranking Gavony Township and this for stupid amount of combat shenanigans
Decks I run
Show
I currently run a deck for Standard, Modern, Commander and Legacy. For standard, I have a typical, horribly budget Rakdos Deck Wins. For Modern, I have a B/G/U/W Draw-go Reanimator featuring my favorite creature, Wurmcoil Engine. For Legacy, I'm trying too hard to break Pyromancer Ascension. I also run a Naya Zoo with all the oldies. For Commander/EDH, I'm running The Mimeoplasm. A little morals thing about me, I like winning through combos, but not infinitely. However quiet, I am a Christian, so feel free to tell me you are too, it's always a relief.

DA Land Cycle

So far the lands have mirrored the core abilities:
WG - counters
RG - power boost + trample
UB - mill
UW - small flyers
RB - damage
And now we have BW - lifelink + deathtouch

So I'm guessing the remaining lands will be similarly familiar rather than out there:

Lightning Laboratory
Land
: Add to your mana pool.
, : Copy target instant or sorcery spell you control. You may choose new targets for the copy.

Firetop Castle
Land
: Add to your mana pool.
, : The next X damage a source of your choice would deal to you or a planeswalker you control this turn is dealt to target player instead.

Wormfarm
Land
: Add to your mana pool.
, : Exile target card in a graveyard. If it is a creature, you may put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control. Otherwise, you may gain 2 life.

Bountiful Pool
Land
: Add to your mana pool.
, : Draw a card.

As to this card, its insanely good. Bad enough Sorin was £40 before. Now with this land... yeesh
Yeah the prices suck now but it is hype prices.

Holy crud...this is pretty amazing!

Seems they really are pushing the B/W tokens theme. Sadly, the mana still isn't there to make it work like everyone seems to be hoping it will(same reason U/R Delver decks didn't pan out in Inn, as it relied on only Sulfur Falls). If we had a second dual other than Isolated Chapel I could see it happening, but even with all the support B/W tokens seems to be getting from DKA, lack of duals is likely going to be the nail in the coffin.

Most of these B/W token decks people are talking about making are probably gonna have to run G as well, if for nothing else then the fixing that comes along with it. While cards like Avacyn's Pilgrim certainly help remedy the mana problem, it brings about a problem of its own in diluting the B/W portion of the deck.

If this is truly a cycle of enemy utility lands, it makes me wonder how viable they really will be in the current standard with the lack of enemy duals.

Either way, this is still a pretty damn amazing land if I do say so myself.

So Sorin created Avacyn?

Yup, Sorin created her.

So close to Alara?

There will be 3 blocks between Alara and whatever comes next.  That seems reasonable.  There were 4 blocks between Invasion and Ravnica (Odyssey, Onslaught, Mirrodin, Kamigawa), and only Time Spiral and Lorwyn/ Shadowmoor between Ravnica and Alara.  Multicolor blocks are insanely popular, so they are probably going to continue to revisit them fairly often, along with the other known hit, tribal.
This is sweet. And based on what MaRo said on tumbler, this is part of a cycle. Now the question is what do the other cards do.

I'd like a cycle of uncommon enemy taplands that mill someone for 1 when they enter the battlefield.  They wouldn't be that good, but they'd be options.
