Add one mana of any color to your mana pool: Another target creature and ~ each get -1/-1 until end of turn. As long as this ability is on the stack, you can't activate abilities or cast spells.
0/1

Wonky stuff with "add mana" costs:
You can't activate this ability to get mana during the resolution of a spell or ability or while casting/activating like you can with normal mana abilities, because the addition of mana to your mana pool is the cost. Which means this is unaffected by rule 605 in the CR in general (605.5 does apply to it, though).

I'd also like to make sure you catch that this says "you can't activate/cast..." meaning whoever controls the ability. So, were I to activate it right now (which I won't cause I have nothing else to cast this turn) I would not be able to do anything while the ability is on the stack, but everyone else could respond to it and I'd have to let it through. I can't even Giant Growth it to make sure it stays alive and allows me to kill off every other creature on the battlefield, unless I Giant Growth it before I activate the ability.

Rules updates and clarifications (compiled from both threads)

Cards which would bring in cards from outside the game can get any card from the player's sideboard. Each player's sideboard consists of exactly ten blank cards. When pulling a card from your sideboard, you must immediately design it.

Banned cards in any zone other than the command zone are moved there as a state-based action.

Text given as card types/supertypes are the furthest-to-the-left on the card as can be. There's no room to shove "Snow" on a card labeled "Land" or "Basic Land." Likewise, you can't add Legendary or Artifact to a card labeled Creature.

If the description is a card's name (either a real card or a card in the almanac above), it's that card.

When designing a card, please specify which card you're designing by letter and number. For example, the third card in your hand is H3.

Any card in the Card Almanac is a legal design, as long as you don't already own a copy. If the card's rating was less than 6, be sure your own minimum rating is low enough to accomodate the card. (Ratings less than 6 will be noted.)

If a card is ban-hammered, its name is can be recovered for a later design (even a very similar design that alters the characteristics that got it banned).

Banned cards in any zone other than the command zone are moved there as a state-based action. I'm not sure how you could design a card which would retrieve them in any useful way, and I'm especially not sure how a card which did that would be generally useful/permissible (and hence a good enough design to pass muster anyhow). After all, anything which can retrieve face-up cards from command would need to make sense of retrieving schemes, planes, and/or phenomena.

Your assumption is correct. The first post of the rules/audition thread has explanations for nearly all of the (mostly) blank descriptions.

Are basic lands assumed to be just basic, or can they be made Snow-Covered if necessary?
@Lobster667: Your hand is up. Lemme know if you want to mulligan.

Are basic lands assumed to be just basic, or can they be made Snow-Covered if necessary?

Although...

One idea I was throwing around was that players could "force" edits like that, at the cost of the card looking right (i.e. losing 1 point on it). But since basic lands won't be rated (they're always a legal design on a card they fit on), that doesn't work for them.

Oh, you mean like if a card is labeled Forest can that mean its subtype is Forest and you can make it a Snow-covered Forest? No. If the description is a card's name (either a real card or a card in the almanac above), it's that card.

I am both selfish and instinctive. I value growth and community, as long as they favour my own objectives; I enjoy nature, and I particularly enjoy watching parts of nature die. At best, I am resilient and tenacious; at worst, I'm uncontrollable and destructive.

Oh, but wait, there were multiple answers that fit my thoughts to some questions. What colors did they say I was?

I am Blue/Green

I am both rational and instinctive. I value self-knowledge and understanding of the world; my ultimate goal is self-improvement and improvement of the world around me. At best, I am focused and methodical; at worst, I am obsessive and amoral.

I'm good with my hand.

Yes. Again, the rules thread has explanations of all the terminology, in the "anatomy of a (mostly) blank card" sblock.

All players have kept their hands except for Fistarnius.

Fistarnius, you have 24 hours to announce a second mulligan. If you'd like to keep, say so.

I meant to say I was keeping my hand in my last post, but I forgot due to lack of memory.

All players have kept their hands.

Players have 24 hours to design and reveal any "opening hand" cards they have and wish to use.

If you're not planning to make any, please say so.

Lurid Visions
Enchantment
You may discard Lurid Visions from your opening hand. If you do, each opponent discards a card at the beginning of the first upkeep.
Each player’s maximum hand size is two.
When designing a card, please specify which card you're designing by letter and number. For example, the third card in your hand is H3.

Lurid Visions: Good, well-balanced design. 8/10. I assume you're using it?

H1 and yes.
I am not designing an opening hand card.

No opening hand card here.
I don't have any opening hand effects.

Do we need to design the card we discard now or later?

no opening card. i believe you design it when you discard it.

Cool. Now we can begin the game.

Lobster667's untap step comes and goes without incident.
At the beginning of the upkeep, Cabal_Rituals' delayed triggered ability goes on the stack. When it resolves, each of CR's opponents will discard a card.

Are there any responses? (24 hours, or until everyone says no.)

I'll get to draw a card this turn since we're more than two players, right?

An instant for that interacts with discarding? Nah, not gonna make one of those.

The ability resolves. Everyone but Cabal_Rituals needs to discard a card.

To indicate which card you're discarding, use H#, where # is the number of the card in your hand. Then tell everyone what it is.

EDIT to add: Please note that Noth the Trendsetter (theatog's commander) and Silence Setsune / Echo Setsune (FirstTurnKill's commander) have each received mild errata, noted in red. (See the Card Almanac or Players > [Player] > Commander to see the changes.)

ETA2: Please note that the second post of this thread now contains a compilation of rules updates and clarifications from both threads. Please also note that if a card is ban-hammered (sent to CZ because it's broken or non-functional, not because its score was too low), its name is can be recovered for a later design (even a very similar design that alters the characteristics that got it banned).
