To me, there is no such thing as an evil personality trait or spiritual condition. There is only sin, concrete and deliberate action that is simply wrong. It is what happens when one goes against one's nature. It germinates in the shadow of risks untaken. It ripens in power exorcised. Beings like us can take risks no one else can, and exorcise power no one else has. We have the greatest capacity for sin, through action, or inaction.

I hope it's a fake; boring and completely uninspiring card... meh.
137/158 starting with a "D"? Isn't it supposed to be alphabetical?

Cards go in color order, multicolor going after green. Within each group the cards are then in alphabetical order.

boring and completely uninspiring card... meh.

It's "whenever you gain life, draw a card", which has some combo potential.  It's like Well of Lost Dreams without the mana constraint.

Not a spike card, obviously, but  there's silly combos with like...Confessor or something.

Cats land on their feet. Toast lands peanut butter side down. A cat with toast strapped to its back will hover above the ground in a state of quantum indecision.

Ah, that's right. Thanks.

Combos nicely with Words of Worship

Edit: Draw phase, I'll skip that and gain five life. Oh I gained life so I draw a card, so I guess I'll skip that draw too. So 5 more life and another card... So let's see this guy cost 7 tapping out 7+ each turn to gain 35+ life seems reasonable...

Because it's got a left arm and a right arm. ;D

Not every card is going to be a flavor home run.

I'm willing to bet this had some other ability in testing and someone suggested double strike because it would be silly with the "whenever you gain life" clause, and it stuck because it was way cooler that way.

I don't like how his huge mana cost means no one will build around his ability (effectively.)

not to be a fink but notice you draw 2 cards whenever he deals damage

question:  I'm not sure how the lifelink rules work but lets say they block this guy with a bunch of tokens, does each time you do damage count as seperate lifegain through lifelink, so potentially you could draw 6 cards if they block with six 1/1s?
What a neat fatty.
Feels like Baneslayer Angel + Consecrated Sphinx minus protection.

It feels tacky, just a stack of keywords stapled together.

Personally, I don't like it. (I won't hate it, but I'll probably cringe whenever I open this in a booster in non-limited cases.)

That's one less Mythic to worry about.

Very true. This block has had such a good track record with flavor, it just makes me a little sad to see a card miss the mark. Anyway, the abilities do have nice synergy with each other.

The latest reminder text for Lifelink reads "Damage dealt by the creature also causes its controller to gain that much life." Since combat damage is dealt simultaneously in each combat damage step, you would gain life 2 times and draw twice.

Interestingly, if Drogskol Reaver is blocked by a single x/3, no combat damage is dealt in the normal combat damage since the blocker is destroyed. Therefore, you would only gain 3 life and draw 1 card.
A bomb in limited for obvious reasons (card advantage, evasion), but it will not see standard play.  Possibly in older formats if you can cheat it out, but even with those abilities... its 5UW... thats a steep hill to climb for control.  You would probably have to tap out to play it, leaving it able to be countered.

Combat damage is dealt with as a single event during each damage step (first strike/regular damage). So, if your opponent block your ghost with three tokens, it'll only deal combat damage once, you'll gain life once (three life) and draw a card. If he blocks with six tokens, it'll deal three damage on the first strike damage step (netting you 3 life and a card), then more three damage on the regular damage step (netting you 3 more life and 1 more card, for a total of 6 and 2). The amount of creatures blocking or blocked by the creature won't matter for the abbility trigger, unless it's enough to let you spread the damage between the two combat damage steps.
Well if he gets blocked by more than 1 creature, you would always have the option to assign more damage to the first one than needed, so that you would deal damage to the other blocker in the normal damage step. That way you would draw 2 cards and gain 6 life even if he only gets blocked by two 1/1's. But why would someone chump block with more than one creature...
I doubt he'll do anything at all in Constructed while Consecrated Sphinx is out there.

But cool mythic, awesome card. Especially if you're one of those who'd like to try to draw cards from something other than its lifelink ability.
This card seems insane!

I currently run a deck for Standard, Modern, Commander and Legacy. For standard, I have a typical, horribly budget Rakdos Deck Wins. For Modern, I have a B/G/U/W Draw-go Reanimator featuring my favorite creature, Wurmcoil Engine. For Legacy, I'm trying too hard to break Pyromancer Ascension. I also run a Naya Zoo with all the oldies. For Commander/EDH, I'm running The Mimeoplasm. A little morals thing about me, I like winning through combos, but not infinitely. However quiet, I am a Christian, so feel free to tell me you are too, it's always a relief.

This guy loves him some Swiftfoot Boots.

Solar Flare will need bombs once Sphinx and Norn are rotated...
I'm with the player that mentioned Consecrated Sphinx being better. I mean, its cool and all for limited. I think it'll not see the combo potential that Swans did back in Shadowmoor.

A 7 mana 3/5 that doesn't suck.  Neat!

Still too costly and vulnerable to removal, but it's definitely cool!
It's flying what makes it right into my Isperia the Inscrutable EDH deck. Not too exciting, but hey, it beats face.
I just like that with this plus Chalice of Life/Chalice of Death Soul Sisters stands a chance of being a real deck again... well no it doesn't because it'd need to run fundamentally different to the standard Soul Sisters deck, but some new cleverly named life gain deck anyway XD
This is the worst name for a white/blue card I have ever heard.
blah blah metal lyrics
While it won't see standard play anytime soon, it is a cool mythic. Easily a timmy design.
Reminds me of Windreaver. A U/W creature with a stack of complimentary abilities that is kind of hyped at first, but won't actually see any constructed play.
I cannot put to words how lame this card feels.  What a waste of a multicolor mythic slot.  It is sad that one of the three or four multicolor cards in the whole set had to be this.

I mean, multicolor seven-drop that dies to all competent removal?  And it's not particularly mind-blowing when it does hit, it's just excruciating for the defending player.

And the art isn't even formatted correctly.  It looks like a badly done Invasion-block reprint where a third of the art was cropped and the remaining creature mass was blown up.

Hoping it's fake +1

Yup, just like you can have Birds of paradise in a mono green deck but not Noble Hierarch. YAY COLOR IDENTITY

I love this description. Like the cows are sponges filled with milk. I can see it all Nick Parks claymation-style with the cow's eyes bugging out momentarily as a giant farmer squeezes it like a squeaky dog toy, and milk shoots out of it.

If it is real, I'm disappointed. Not in the mechanics--it'll doubtless find its way into my Isperia EDH deck pretty darn quick--but in other areas. It has pretty much no flavor whatsoever, which is inexcusable on a mythic. He's a big, angry spirit in a cage who, according to the flavor text, seeks out other souls to imprison with him in his cage. And this is expressed mechanically by him...gaining you life? And drawing cards? What the hell? I mean, sure, not every card can be a flavor home run, but this doesn't even seem to take a swing at connecting its flavor to its mechanics in any way.

Got to be a fake.
Photobucket
Maybe they just wanted to do something they hadn't done before and now was as good a time as any. They'd never made a creature with double strike and lifelink, nor a creature with double strike and Curiosity (both of which are pretty cool)
Also the worst name for a white-blue card EVER.  I fully expected upon entering the thread for it to be black-green.

Its ability is actually better than Curiosity.

I thought it was fake too, but MTG Salvation doesn't add cards to their spoiler until they're completely confirmed, right?
