I have to regretfully say that the Innistrad prerelease was probably the least fun I've ever had at a Magic event in my (admittedly short) career. I ended up with a terrible pool, a mediocre deck, and I didn't even get to play my deck in 4/6 games due to mana problems (namely, starting with a 4-5 land hand then drawing 5 more in a row).Add the fact that the venue was overcrowded (probably past what the Fire Marshall would consider "safe") and it had gotten up to 100 degrees in the shop and I'd had enough and dropped after 2 rounds.I've been in a bad spot luckwise lately, can't seem to draw more than 2 but less than 10 lands in the first 7 or so turns of any game I play, whether it be limited or constructed...even running 15 lands in a 40 card deck. Hopefully it'll turn around at the release party and I'll have fun. The one game I played where both I and my opponent drew well was amazing, doing math for Lumberknot + a couple of other morbid creatures + managing werewolves all at the same time lead to some pretty impressive game states. Definitely a more skill-rewarding format than some of the more recent ones...unless someone opens Olivia Voldaren.
