Pretty good pack. We've got a lot of viable picks to choose from, solid removal, and two fat fliers that're efficently costed and has a situation ability...Right away, we have the choices between Dearly Departed, Murder of Crows, Fiend Hunter, Claustrophobia, and Rebuke. Murder of Crows and Rebuke get thrown out because they're just worse than the other cards in the pack. We're down to Dearly Departed, Fiend Hunter, and Claustrophobia... Fiend Hunter is better removal than Claustrophobia because the Hunter is a 2 for 1, so now it's between Fiend Hunter and Dearly Departed.Personally, I like to go for good removal this early in a set. I don't know how good big fat fliers are, but good removal is good removal... so...Fiend Hunter.
Wow, there are just only good Blues and Whites here.I am going with the Crows here. Departed might be better, but crows seem more aggressive, and we might actually delay the next Blue pick until 4th (Fiend Hunter and Departed could both be picked over the Claustrophobia, I feel).
Fiend Hunter isn't truly removal though, since the card comes back when Fiend Hunter dies. And people play more cards that kill creatures than they do enchantments (O-ring).
I am gonna come out and say that I think this OP is BS. 6 red cards, 3 white, 3 blue, 1 green and no black? Ive seen packs getting none of a single color, but only 1 card between 2 colors? That is the most lopsided I have ever heard of in a pack. Not only that, but all of the cards are fairly solid in limited. And there also happens to be a mountain for the 6 red cards (which he/she includes in the list for some reason). I dont see many people writing down every card they open up in a draft either. If players did, I am sure they would keep track of more than just the first pack. I am not saying its impossible to open this pack, but there are too many rare occurences for me to believe it really happened.
Coming back from the pre-release after I got my ass kicked real bad by a Delver of Secrets, I have to take it.
Coming back from the pre-release after I got my ass kicked real bad by a Delver of Secrets, I have to take it.I'm seriously considering the Boar or the Interloper here, but I think Sebano's choice is also solid. I'll go with Delver to cut Blue.
Delver. a 3/2 flier for 1 is beyond rad (if we're playing blue, isn't it assumed that we are going to be picking up some instants and sorceries). A 1/1 for 1 that lets you see what your next draw is nice. Sending the signal that blue is off limits is also pretty cool.
I'm tempted to question why there are two DFCs in this pack (Villagers and Pariah) when there is only supposed to be one regardless of whether the DFC is foil or not.
