So this is it, the three of you are the last to remain in contention for the title of Season 1 Champion.

This will be a double round. You will build one deck for each of two formats (appropriate banlists apply for both)

1. Standard
2. Legacy

Each format will be judged seperately, and put through Match Play (best 3 out of 5) There will be no public vote in this round.

2 points for each Match win
-1 point for each game lost by the winner
1 point for each game win

meaning

3-0 win, winner gets 5 points, loser gets 0
3-1 win, winner gets 4 points, loser gets 1
3-2 win, winner gets 3 points, loser gets 2

The winner of the Standard section recieves 5 points, 2nd gets 3, and 3rd gets 1
The winner of the Legacy section recieves 5 points, 2nd gets 3, and 3rd gets 1

That means a maximum of 10 points is up for grabs, so anyone can still win. Now, you've already been informed of your secret ingredient for this round , but let's show everyone else.

Your Secret Ingredient is...

ARTIST DRAFT
You'll each select 5 artists, whose cards will be your card pool for both challenges, this will be in a draft format, with the order determined by league standings

Niche
1 Terese Nielsen
2 Mark Zug
3 Chippy
4 Karl Kopinski
5 Matt Cavotta

FIRE_REIGN_2_02
1 Kev Walker
2 Christopher Moeller
3 Raymond Swanland
4 Steve Prescott
5 Rob Alexander

Gomorrah
1 Jason Chan
2 Michael Sutfin
3 Christopher Rush
4 Vance Kovacs
5

Deckbuilding will be 6 days long and begin once the draft is completed.

Niche has the first selection

Lol who's gonna name Jason Chan to lock out the jace decks?

Photobucket
Wow, Niche is actually a very crafty man.
Nielsen allows him to use:
[In Legacy]:
Natural Order
Force of Will [The key]
Swords to Plowshares
Life from the Loam
Fact or Fiction
[In Standard]:
Despise
Dismember

Very very strong first pick. Puts him in good position for both Legacy, and Standard.

Granted, all the cards you listed are dogs without support, but I guess that's why I'm liking this round's format so much :P

Some days I'm pretty sharp.

Others... well.

Stay tuned. I'll blow a pick soon. But I've already got my next 2 favorite picks lined up.

That was a pick and a half. Sorry about taking so long... Ended up my store had midnight booster draft, so I'm a bit tired. Anyways, should have my pick in the next hour or so.

Of course. I'd like everyone not drafting to refrain from making comments about available choices.

That aside...

I pick Mark Zug

No way Jose. Peanut crowd should be able to be the peanut crowd. Otherwise, you should have drafted through PMs.

Photobucket
Also, whoever drafts rebecca guay should get a bonus point for the round. Not because I like her art, but because so many of her cards are awful (excluding promos)

Photobucket
The peanut crowd is fine until they begin affecting choices which has just happened.

Talk about the choices made; not what you think people should consider doing next.

Niche makes two brilliant picks that will affect his Legacy portion more than anything.
Photobucket
In all honesty I was gonna choose Jason Chan, mostly because he has cards in standard (excluding jace of course) and Jace+Counterspell for legacy
Right, that wasn't an indictment against you Gom, it was more saying that comments like that CAN affect the direction of a draft, not that they did

If you don't pick an artist who has done basics you've probably selected an extremely limited cardpool.

All of my picks have basics in their pools so far i think.

I would never burn a pick on *ONE* useful card. The rest of his pool would be crap to build with. Nissa, oh gawsh. Promo hellkite? Nah. Legacy impact aside from Prog? Huh.

A 44 card pool...

I think at this point it should be obvious that with 5 picks we're not all going to be able to build perfect Tier 1 lists for Legacy and Standard. Instead we need to create robust pools with options... I hope you guys figured that out.

Besides... I.... well I won't say. You'll just have to see my last amazingly brilliant pick.

Ya, I can see that, which is why I thought you might save it for the last pick. Besides, I'm pretty sure there are green creatures in your pool that you could substitute. There's been one artist on my board for quite some time, but I've just been skeptical of choosing it. Most of their cards are relevant, but they are spread over a good amount of colors. Definitely a strong pick late in the game though (if you don't have much Standard strength).
