Hello Homebrew Forumers!

For several years, the Campaign and Adventure Workshop has been the home to a series of forum games titled Lords of Creation.  LoC's purpose is to build up a campaign setting from scratch in the form of a dynamic game where players are Gods who, through their actions, create and then become the panthon of a unique setting filled with significant amounts of homebrewed creations, from artifacts to unique and reimagined races and cultures to tweaks to the underlying rules of DnD itself!  The best part about it is that  the setting emerges organically from the actions, arguments and agreements of the players themselves, creating a dynamic world that is far richer result than one created by a single person working alone.

We've decided to move to this forum because we think you might be more our sort of people!  And so here we are.  As a sample, here are some of the things that we tend to come up with.

Lords of Creation Samples

Despair, A God

Name: Despair
Alignment: Evil
Appearance: A dense fog the color of a bruise, out of which two points of light shine like the eyes of a warrior lost in the battlelust. Occasionally the fog seems to take on a vaguely humanoid shape, with four arms, each holding a woe to mortals.
Holy Symbol: A Hanged Mortal

Despair is the god of prophecy and discord. Although he is known for giving the many gifts to the mortal races, these were seeds of division that lead to greed, violence, and avarice. He is a constant presence, the quiet whisper that urges good people to horrible acts. Those foolhardy enough to wish to know the future seek his blessing, but few ever come to a good end. This dark god has no true followers, only tools that are willing to be used. His teachings are thus:

*Cover wickedness with goodness, so that it might be more readily accepted and in turn cause greater harm.

*Never hold true to any bond of loyalty or comradery but turn on those who trust you in the moment of their need.

*Sow discord and break the societies of the world asunder.

Khavus Rein, A God

Name: Khavus Rein
Alignment: Unaligned
Appearance: Khavus has ivory skin with ebony wings. Her left arm is ice, her right fire.
Holy Symbol: A spiral of red and blue

The goddess of fire and ice as well as rebirth, Khavus Rein is the remains of two ancient gods, Khadesh and Pravus. Pravus, the frozen god of the north, attacked Khadesh. The struggle of the two gods caused tremors throughout the world, but neither could vanquish the other. Finally, in desperation, Pravus forced the very essence of his coldness into Khadesh’s burning heart. Both gods were defeated, but this goddess arose. Those who value redemption and second-chances worship her. Her commands are simple:

* Do not hold your enemies eternal in your heart but rather hope for their redemption

* Give kindness and ill in their proper turns.

* Do not fear death, for it is not the end.

Casaka, A nation of Titans

Casaka is the name of one of the more powerful nations in the universe of LightVoid as well as the name of its capital, which also goes by the moniker 'The City of Glass'

HistoryEdit History section

FoundingEdit Founding section

On the desert world of Yrie, the God Grawlf read from theCodex of Thinking Things, filled with the combined musings of the Gods on the nature of intelligence and how to create a being that was neither God nor brute animal. When he had finished reading, he summoned forth the Sun Worms, who tunneled through the desert and turned the patch he floated over molten. Here he began to work, fashioning a tall glass being named Karhedron. From his template came the other Glass Titans.  After realizing that most of Yrie was unable to sustain their forms, the Glass Titans resolved to form a military state called Casaka to extend their lands to encompass all of the desert and Karhedron was chosen to be its leader. After Karhedron ripped a tusk from the Tarrasque, driving the beast deep underground and away from the first huts of the Titans, the Casakan peoples, now grown to include other forms of titans such as Meteoric Titans and Salt Titans, were given the chance to grow without any enemies to hinder them. Soon from out of the desert appeared the City of Glass itself, spires of twisted glass reaching up into the skies and shining like a beacon across the southern continent of Yrie. The City also began to encounter its neighbors and trade sprung to life.

Seeds of ConflictEdit Seeds of Conflict section

As Casaka grew in power, it began to attract the attention of other gods. After Karhedron and several warriors rescued the Dhorem from the [[Blood Trolls], the patron gods of both races visited Casaka, both damaging the city and demanding that the Titans mind their own business. Upset and frustrated, the Casakans began to expand their military and fortify their borders, turning away all Trolls specifically. Still troubled, Karhedron asked the Spirits of Nature if their brethren knew of other places, other worlds, that had deserts like their own and was informed that the Isles of Wonder had many desert worldlets. Karhedron tasked a secret group of Titans to begin devising a way for his people to leave Yrie and set up colonies on other worlds with deserts. Over time, a firm alliance with the Dhoremi was achieved, leading to increased animosity directed towards the City from Ymalos. As the years progress, the secret project, a starship, is completed by Samtaana while, despite their best efforts, the Dhorem are slowly but systematically hunted to near extinction until as a last ditch effort to save the remnants of the population, the Casakans move the remaining Dhoremi into Casaka itself as Karhedron approaches the Blood Trolls one final time to sue for peace.

The Undead Invasion and Escape from Yrie.

However, the Blood Trolls were nowhere to be found, their villages empty, their fires doused and signs of struggle evident. He returned, disconcerted, to find Yrie beset by an undead army of Trolls and other spirits moving towards the borders of the desert. An unnatural chill fell over Yrie as a cloud moved before the sun and the deserts of Yrie were covered with snow. Freezing, the titans could not hope to hold the horde of undead for long until they summoned forth the sun worms to form pools of molten glass around the city, heating the area and allowing the titans to set up a new perimeter of defense. At this point all work turned to the completion of the Ark and the sending off of the first colony. As the cold and undead moved closer to the city and few of their allies stirred to aid them, the Casakan people were determined to see at least some portion of their civilization survive them. However, an unexpected push of undead separated those working on the Ark from those in Casaka. Moments before their position was overrun by undead, the Ark labored into the heavens and away from the planet as the Titans from Casaka cheered. On board, leading the expedition, was Kythandrin, Karhedron's son.

Eventually, the Titans were confined in their city by a besieging army of undead. In desparation, the Worm-handlers of Casaka summoned up the sun worms once more, causing them to create a moat of molten glass that surrounded the city and, aside from a few flying assaults, brought the attack to a halt. Beneath the city, the workers that had been tasked long ago by Karhedron to find a way for his people to leave Yrie labored at a feverish pace to hammer together an escape mechanism before the inhabitants of the city succumbed to hunger.

It is at this point that the Gods step in. Grawlf and the Harbringer force the Undead out of the desert for a time, giving the people of Casaka a reprieve to sortie out and gather more food and supplies. However, it is at this time that the Tarrasque returns and Karhedron engages it in single combat to prevent it from disrupting the sun worms. The Tarrasque is driven away once more, but Karhedron is left broken and dying as the protective spell on the desert fails and the undead swarm back over the dunes.

As Karhedron crawls towards the City, the Doom of Yrie occurs, and Karhedron watches as Casaka drains the moat and with a pillar of blinding white light, blasts free of the planet, the secret designs of Titans finished at last. Kardedron dies, but is reborn as an Exarch of Grawlf for his long service and stewardship of Casaka. He leaps up and rejoins the city as it pushes towards the Isles of Wonder and as Yrie shakes itself into pieces behind them.

A New HomeEdit A New Home section

For a long while the City of Glass floated in the void, traveling towards the Isles of Wonder. Eventually the city arrived and landed on an uninhabited planetoid, using the Lens of Casaka to turn much of the surface into a sandy desert. The four Sun Worms that had powered the city were freed, and soon life began to have a sense of normalcy about it, even with the great gas giant dominating the sky. They called their home Maru and began to reconnect with their old trading partners as well as the dominant nation on the Isles: The Quori. As the Vok'Dar Apocolypse occurs on Lor'quhan and Vedra, the Glass Titans begin to go to war with the Quori at the urging of Ravnos(the exarch posing as Grawlf) as Karhedron blasts off in a new ship to attempt to find his son.

CultureEdit Culture section

When speaking of the culture of Casaka, there are two major things to discuss. The organization of its people and what its people found important. The long (nearly immortal) lives of the Glass Titans themselves significantly influenced both aspects of Caskan culture.

In the begining, Casaka was ruled by popular acclaim by Karhedron, the first of the Glass Titans and the one selected to lead by Grawlf. However, as the number of Titans grew and the City grew larger and larger, Karhedron soon realized that it would be impossible for him to lead all by himself. Casaka then transitioned into a civilian-led government, with elections held every fifty years to nominate four leaders, who sat with Karhedron in the Casakan Conclave, which met for one month every year to discuss policy for the year to come.

At the present moment, a power struggle is underway as the Cult of the Eye, led in secret by the rebel Exarch Ravnos has replaced many of the members of govenrment with their own members and Karhedron is nowhere to be found.

Casaka are master glassworkers, and their city reflects this, with impossible spires reaching towards the heavens and arcing gracefully over the streets. Most of the artistic expression of the Titans takes the form of architecture, and buildings in the City tend to last only as long as the owner is entertained by its shape. In recent years, statuary of fallen heroes has begun to crop up around the city, although most Casakans view this as fooloshness.

For veteran players, note that we are making a change to the starting domain rules from what has been done in previous games.  Domains are now broken up into active (undeath, magic, travel, love) and passive (earth, time, moon, sun, fire).  All gods start with one active domain and may also pick a passive domain if they wish (or select no passive domain at all).   At least initially we will be ascending gods in pairs, so keep this in mind while crafting your god. For instance, undeath could be the opposite of life OR death (active) OR time (passive) (in that undeath breaks the natural cycle of time) OR justice could be the opposite of tyranny (active) or darkness (passive).

What IS an active and a passive domain?

At its heart, a passive domain is something that tends to flavor actions but doesn't particularly motivate them. A water god might create water-based elves, for example). In some cases, these domains are so limiting that it seems like there is almost nothing that one can do with that domain that is clearly part of that domain (what does a moon-god do after creating a moon that is particularly moon-iful?

In contrast, an active domain is something that, hopefully, motivates actions as well as flavors it. A god of travel might create roads, teach sailing, establish air and water currents, introduce planeswalking, etc. Such a god might flavor creations with travel as well (creating nomadic peoples, for example).

To note, none of the examples of passive domains HAVE to be passive. It is just that some things are going to be a lot harder to actively play. If you have a good reason for why a domain should be active instead of passive, let us know and chances are it will get the go-ahead. The active/passive dichotomy is intended to be a useful concept, not a restricting rule.

Keep in mind that the entry of new gods will be based on what the game needs at the time, rather than the order in which people sign up (although, "needed" domains that no one has claimed yet will be offered to those who signed up earlier, and they can then choose to come up with a new god that fits that or to pass the opportunity along to those further down the list).

Also, all players start their FIRST turn with double their usual PP (so 8)

I suppose I'll get started.

Name of God:  Altair
Starting Domains:  Undeath (active), Light (passive)
Physical Appearance:  A being of blinding light standing about eight feet in height.  Usually he clothes himself in robes and a mask such that other divines can actually stand to look at him.

Symbol:  A many-pronged sun

Titles:  Sightblinder, King of The Bleached Bone
Proposed Partners:  Life, Time, Darkness, Trechery, Secrets, Order.
Name of God: Kyoaag N'gaas
Starting Domain(s): Time(Active), Fire(Passive)
Physical Appearance: A spiral galaxy composed of roiling gray waters carrying embers of orange light. Rising and falling from the astral waves, like glaciers gasping for air and immediately crumbling to the depths, are titanic cubes of rough black glass through which one observes distant and colossal machinery working with distant booming clicks like clockwork. At the center lies an absence in the spiral sea, and in this maelstrom eye sits a planetoid of thick brown ropey flesh bound into an orb, speckled with burning orange eyes peering through myriad pupils. The flesh's rolling landscape is scarred and cavitated with black ossified pits.
Symbol: A small 8 armed star

Titles: The wandering star, the distant watcher, cold fire.

Name of God: Desha
Starting Domain(s): Darkness & Fear
Physical Appearance: Desha manifests himself as an opaque, black mist. If he feels that a more physical presence is necessary he will appear as seven foot tall robed, the robe is navy blue, figure wearing a white, porcelain mask lacking any eye holes.
Symbol: A Black Spiral
Titles: The Nightmare, The Darkness, He Who Hides in Darkness, Vice Eater
Proposed Ascension Domain Partners:
Justice, Light, Ice/Cold, Hope, Moon

Blugh, how many domains are claimed that we aren't seeing up there?

Anyways, I'm cool with two time gods. And after talking with Toph, I like the way we mesh. Let's talk shop, Ara.

Also, the duality dynamic I'm setting up here is "fire that consumes everything as fuel by aging it, with some lovecraft dashed over"
Thats it.  Time_Lord, there's going to be a trapped Darkness goddess (okay, another one) that is established in the first two posts, but as with Ary, duplications are fine (although I'd prefer it if we didn't get to triplicates... no need to get... carried away.)   Also, Darkness is a passive domain, so you'll need a more 'active' one as well.

Edit:  Oh, I see.  Yes, fear is certainly more active   Gonna be curious how you're going to work a scary darkness god into a game called 'sheltering darkness'   It shelters... the things that wish to eat you, perhaps
Ary, I've been thinking off of what we talked about yesterday.  Is your domain more appropriately 'Decay'?
To everyone, I went through and made a few changes to the original post (mostly putting in a few more sblock tags). Two things were clarified, however, and I wanted to thus bring your attention to it.

1) Conceptual and Elemental domains were renamed to Active and Passive to better reflect the feel that is behind the dichotomy. You can look at the full explanation in the OP if you want, but the main this is that a Passive Domain flavors an action (water god might create water elves, for example) while an Active Domain motivates action (a travel god has a lot of other things to do besides just making nomadic elves).

2) I added a note clarifying that gods/domains are ascended as needed and as gameplay dictates, not based on the order that people sign up. This mostly means that in thinking about creating a god, try to think of a domain that the world needs, and then build the god around that (rather than coming up with a cool idea for a god and then searching for domains). Since under this it is possible that domains will be needed that no one has yet claimed, when that happens we will go down the list of people who have signed up and offer the position to those who signed up earlier.

Also to everyone: I "created" graphical versions of the holy symbols for Toph and Ara (and myself). If others would like, I can try to create graphics for your god too provided you don't mind exactly how I create them (if it is simple, I might just create it originally myself, but if it is complex, it might be heavily "inspired" by other things). (I'll be posting my god's write-up soon, so you can see what I mean by a symbol being "heavily inspired" by other things).

To Ary, to note, the "claimed" domains are the ones that Toph listed, so I don't think there are any others that now you don't know about. Those are claimed only because in some ways they've been "ascended" already. In the last two games, the name of the iteration of LoC was based on a gimmick (worlds colliding, or a MacGuffin). This time we are going to a general theme (which we hope each player will help us define). But to start things off, the first few "players" are trying to set an example of what that means, which in turn required a bit of planning and discussing on our part.
Oh.  We've realized that the wiki isn't yet up-to-date, rules wise.  We're working on that now, but in the meantime, here's a list of changes.

community.wizards.com/lordsofcreation/go...
Ary, I've been thinking off of what we talked about yesterday.  Is your domain more appropriately 'Decay'?

I had thought about that, but decided that decay does not adequately express the motive behind aging things. It is aging out of a desire to consume and fuel, instead of returning things to composite parts.

I was planning to go for a tough love god who eventually uses manifestations of people's fears to force them to overcome them or the fears kill them. It's sort of Silent Hill-esque. I toyed with calling Judgement instead of Fear, but I figured the Fear domain would be a more primal domain which is good for a new god. Judgement is a bit more of a complex idea.

Edit: He might also punish people for other things too. Like I was planning to make ghouls as a punishement for a race that gives into gluttony.

Name of God: Eago
Starting Domain(s): Time, Fate
Physical Appearance: A non-descript being in simple red robes that fall to just past his knees. His face is blank save for two blank pits that might be eyes. He is rather official-looking, with a two-peaked cap and a golden eagle pin attached to the front of his robes.

Symbol: An eagle inscribed upon a gear or circle. The eagle is often depicted clutching the edge of the gear.

Titles: Oath-maker, The Clockwork Strange, The Tick-Tock God
Proposed Ascension Domain Partners:
Light, Justice, Order, Protection.

The flavour I'm going with this god is a sort of Divine Notary thing. I'm going to try and establish him as a neutral third party, and he'll handle matters of "divine paper-work", so to speak.
Oh! here we go again! I'll try some thing new, and some thing old.

Name of God: Balist
Starting Domain(s): Magic (active), Moon (passive)
Physical Appearance: He looks like an average, nondescript, plain white, brown hair, brown eyes, guy. He makes no moves to stand out, but he's also rarely gone unnoticed.
Symbol: A loom on top of a full moon.
Titles: The Weaver, The light at night
Proposed Ascension Domain Partners:
Sun, darkness, light, knowledge, secrecy, magic

If shadow hasn't taken magic yet, I'd like to be it. I'm going for the god of magic in the moon schtick. Although, this might be one of the rare instances where having two or more of the same domain (magic being the case) wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. I think I'll have more on him later when I have more thought out. I'm just about ready to get this rolling!

Name: Vasa & Vion
Domains: Life & Death
Physical Appearance: Vasa and Vion are twins, the children of Altair and his wife. Vasa physical appearance takes after their father more than Vion, although her luminence is not nearly so overwhelming as his. In turn Vion takes aftr their mother. The physical features of both twins are nearly indistinguishable due to their illuminated or darkened visages. Beyond that, their physical appearance seems mundane (or as mundane as beings of light and darkness can be). It appears that they both favor long coats, but it is hard to tell anything beyond that.

Symbol: A tree with exposed roots.

Titles: The Twins
Partners: Altair (undeath), Light and Darkness, Civilization, Time, Fear

Special Note: Although I'll be playing twins, they are just one god and will count as one for all mechanical and such purposes. Additionally, both Life and Death are seemingly active domains, but the plan is to ascend as life and immediately create Death. I was planning on darkness, but then others seemed interested, so I nixed that. Currently they don't have a passive domain. The reason for Life and Death to be connected in one god is that there is a little Pinky and the Brain in them. That is, their ultimate goal is to create immortal material life... but they keep failing, thereby resulting in death.

And as I noted, my graphics are a little... rip-offed. Some of you might recognize one or both of the twins. I just adjusted the thresholds for them.

Awesome! Now to give this game a try.

Name of God: Kol'Gar
Starting Domain(s): Order (active), Pride (passive)
Physical Appearance: He is a lean but muscular man with staggeringly sharp facial features, stringy black hair, ocher skin, pointed ears, luminescent yellow eyes, and a maw full of wickedly sharp fangs.

Symbol: A circlet-style crown
Titles: The Marshal, Lord of the Blade
Proposed Ascension Domain Partners:
Chaos, nature, beasts, entropy, disasters, freedom

I picture him to be sort of Thor-ish. A warrior god who is honest to a fault and somewhat naive, although also something of a tightwad with a questionable intellect (for a deity, at least).

EDIT: Found a fairly suitable image for his physical appearance, minus the horn-like protrusions. Also changed his title to reflect a more war-like nature. Changed my passive Domain to Pride. I think it's more fitting than what I had before.

Veok, I was under the impression you were not playing for several months due to stuff you had to do IRL.  Is this a placeholder God for then, or have your plans changed?
game sounds interesting and making the god funn enough but still yet to grasp the game it'self. once I learn and understand more I will edit this to join the game properaly

Welcome Stargazer! We'd love to have you join us. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or join the mibbit chat ( 02.chat.mibbit.com/ ) channel #LoC. Often someone is there and will be able to answer your questions.

But the basics are: you play a god with the intent of creating a gaming world. You spend Power Points (PP) to perfom actions in game that create or develop things. What sort of things? Generally anything that helps develop a world. The actions listed under the Basic Rules section of the wikia (loc-central.wikia.com/wiki/Help:Basic_Ru...) give a fairly brief rundown of those, while the Actions page (loc-central.wikia.com/wiki/Help:Actions) gives a more exaustive/exhausting run down of what they are, examples, etc.

There is a lot on the wikia (especially if you look in the archives), but you can get your feet wet with just a minimal time investment reading rules and the sort.

Time_Lord, you would see a Time Lord, wouldn't you? :P Though in by defense, I got the female picture first and then went about looking for the appropriately dressed up male pic, which eventually just devolved into the good Doctor.
I think I have a decent grasp for the idea now after I read the entire wikki and basicaly allt he links that were posted hwoever Is till did not find a list of the domains curently used hwoever I will post my god here in a few anyhows.

Origins Though his true origins were lost to him, he has shattered memories of a place far away. Though seemingly little more then a faded dream he knew; without knowing how that these were real memories. He could recall creatures and beings that did not exist. Had memories he knew could not be his own. Though this did not bother him he wondered. Where had he truly come from. He could sense his purpose; knew what must be done. Yet nothing indicated where he truly came from or how he remembered things that simply were not. Perhaps there was something before the endless void, perhaps that never ending nothingness was not all he had known. These things mattered little now; yet often he dwells on what it all means while he rests. In the end he was here now, delivered from the nothingness by the awakening of time and the ripples that event sent threw the nothingness that both was and was not. He is here now and he would be sure that these memories, these times here in the land between the voids. These would not be lost to him, these he would not allow to slip away.
Personality To know swift is to know his dreams, for it is these dreams that drives his strongest will. The lost shattered memories of times that never happened and places that never were. It is the everything’s that are nothing and the nothings that are everything. He Remembers bits of a time and place far removed from the one he now finds himself born unto. It is these shattered memories that drive him to document the world for never again shell his knowledge and thoughts be lost to him in the nothings of tomorrow or the everything’s of yesterday. Long after time stops and the darkness once again envelopes the world his records will remain. Even obsessed as he is with gathering the knowledge’s of the world he remains carefree and lighthearted though prone to serious moments he prefers to do his best to enjoy life. He is not against light pranks or tricking someone into sharing a secret but he never lies or betrays his word without purpose and he knows little of the concepts of good and evil. To him things are not good nor are they evil. Though often time they may do good or evil they in and of themselves simply are. He finds solemn natured people as sad creatures and actively tries to teach them that there is no point to life if you are not able to enjoy the blessings that you were given. In truth though his personality shifts wildly in large a effect from his hours documenting the infinites that are everything’s existence. The knowing of everything life without truly knowing any of it effects his personality in unknowable ways. Though he dwells on this little. The past and the future matter little as long as it all gets documents and kept safe then life was simply intended to happen.
History History will start from post 1 after creation in the game..

[spoiler=Proposed Ascension Domain Partners:] creation, time, travel, secrecy,
Ok so this part was a bit harder for me, but here is a basic reasoning for the few choices as well a basis for things not listed.
again this was kind of hard but secrets rely heavily on having the knowledge of things that others do not and keeping that knowledge safe this seamed to fit well with my char as one of his prim goals is the protection of all knowledge and he feels that some knowledge should be documented but never shared. with travel again it fits well with his personality as without travel you can not hope to learn the knowledge’s of existence there are other more subtle reasons he find a affinity with travel perhaps even picking it up as a passive domain later. With time and creation they are the very core of his being for it is there domain that is documented, the happenings of time from beginning to end and all of creations and the happenings of those creations without these things there is no knowledge to document. it is for the end of these things that he struggles to document all so nothing will be lost to the dark void again.

I also listed a small list of domains that I think will be helpful or hindering to him in his pursuit of his primary active domain.

Past this though regardless of how his new form is created his divine essence has traveled the darkness’s of the void where things both our and our not for a long time now, he has memories and imagoes of a time and place but does not and will not ever be able to grasp at more then this. I went with this into his story because originally this was a god from my personal realm so it is of that place the scattered dreamlike images are though forever outside of his grasp, it gave me a driving purpose to the god and added a lot of flavor.

So as to the him part of swift foot he is a quirky little character more often then not light hearted he enjoys tricking people but only so far as they learn something from it for to him the entire point of trickery is to teach people a lesson whether that be humility through pranks and the like or some much more important lesson if his trickery does not help someone learn something then it is without point and therefore not worthy of his time.

He also takes life very lightly, because of his shattered memories he knows of a time before time and knows there will be a time after time though he knows nothing of the why or how he find comfort in knowing that even as time is finite existence in and of itself goes on to start anew. The one fear he always has though is that the knowing of one prior to the next will once again be lost to him. Anyhow because of his lack of fear for life and death he lives a very carefree life knowing little of good and evil he simply lives life as it comes not to say he does not do his fare share of planning but few ever even relies that side of him exists outwardly few would ever think of the little creature as a threat now do most gods pay him much never mind unless they are in need of some bit of knowledge that he may have but even then the cost to obtain that information if often more then they are willing to give for no knowledge is given freely only traded for secrets still yet unknown to him and secrets few gods willing will hand over.

As for other domains or gods he might ascend with they could very greatly best simply catch me on chat or message me if there is a specific idea or toss it out there and I will run with whatever material I am given and will c where the dice land J

Hah!  Thats brilliant
perhaps it just takes some getting used to but the wikki is kinda a pain to navigate and use let alone edite /add to but I am sure I will figure it out.
An' ye harm none, do what ye will
As the game goes, the wiki will eventually get better and easier to use.

And glad to have you with us! Your god looks great! Now, if anyone asks if you are a god, you can say yes!

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

I had thought about that, but decided that decay does not adequately express the motive behind aging things. It is aging out of a desire to consume and fuel, instead of returning things to composite parts.

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but as you describe it, that doesn't sound like Time at all. Aging our of a desire to consume and fuel sounds very decay-y or fire-y, while returning things to composite parts sounds like destruction or chaos. Maybe even "ruin" would fit. But Time itself doesn't seem to fit what you are going for. After all, Time doesn't cause things to be consumed or to be broken down into their composite parts: those are separate processes that happen to occur over a period of time, but so does everything else. Or is there something that I am missing?
as described it could represent time as a pasive and destruction, death, or even decay as a active

Passive representing the prefered means of persuing there active domain

Yeah, you're missing that I'm not going for breaking things into their composite parts.

Time is the active, the method.

Fire is the passive, the flavor.

He's time as fire. Throw young things into the fire and they'll get older and older, doing whatever the object does as it gets older. An immortal elf would just sit there all day, while a human would wrinkle, die, and turn to dust. A rock might crumble if there was a wind for long enough, while a diamond would do nothing. It's decay when it's possible, otherwise it's just age.

The consumption bit is from the god's desire to have more time. His backstory dealy is he's been living the same loop of creation for an unimaginable amount of time. From his entrance to creation, to creation's end where he loops back to his beginning. Been doing it so long, can't remember where he came from, what he was, or how events play out exactly. He's looking for a way out of the loop, and wants more time to make that happen. The madness from the endless aeons he's spent looping has lead him to believe that aging the universe, consuming its time, will give him more time to find a way out in a loop, when it is actually this act of consumption that hastens or causes the end to come and the end-point of a loop to arrive.

Another LoC? Sounds fun ;)

ANUBIS!   *TACKLES*

erm... *cough*  good to see you.  Whats up?  *whistles and wanders off*

Ary, I guess what THought and I are trying to say is that TIME is not causing the aging, time flows underneath as wind, weather, bugs, bacteria, dust, etc acts (after all, even the diamond will eventually be covered in dust), and that is why we've always viewed Time as rather... passive.  Perhaps decay is not the right word, but your god concept does seem to have... Ageing as a core element to it, somehow.

I guess I'm just trying to understand 'Active' Time as best I can for the most promising future interactions possible! (because I am definitely looking forward to interacting!  You were a blast in GoE )
Ahhhh, okay. Yeah, I'm still brainstorming but I've most definitely be acting directly through time manipulation a high majority of the time (heh).

I'll try to raise you on Mibbit chat and talk more about active time.
so how long do you think it will be before I / we can actualy start playing the game? I relise I am probably a bit down the list since I didn't post till I had read a lot of it so lots of people before me just wondering the rate at wich players are added in now that the game is slowly starting to move forward.

(I started a page on the wikki for my god so when I finaly get in to the game I can have some of the ground work down and ready. Also more importantly it gets me used to using the wikki and in the habvit of reading over new updates and whatnot and familure with the way you guys have it set up)
An' ye harm none, do what ye will
The specific schedule is a bit... fluid. This go around we are trying to have gods enter more through the beget action than in the past, and also not on a specific time table. Our hope is that things will progress organically, although we admins will step in if no gods are getting ascended, or if it appears that people are trying to mangle their posts to let others in before the game is ready.

One of the great memories I have of an old game is getting greeted by the gods already in existence (which requires, in part, not a flood of new gods). Also, it is really nice to feel like your presence in the game is making the world whole. But these are things that, admittedly, we as players have to actively work at.

tl;dr - We don't rightly know.
fair enough guess I will need to ocupy myself  till my turn comes round, though definatly eager to get into it.
An' ye harm none, do what ye will
You may not be one of the first, but (hopefully) you'll definitely Not be one of the last! They like to get new people in fairly early so as to bring in more people and to bring in more creativity.

I.E. The more people there are, the more things happening, the more fun it is for everyone, thus bringing in more people!

Its a very fluid game as there really is no set direction to go! I'm excited!

Wil have a working picture of my god soon just goto edit out all the annoying off white dots and edit the hell out of the pic to make it fit the needed description well enough, colors won't be perfect but close enough to do the job.  already updated my post to include the holy symbole, by time I get into the game will have every possible detail I can get done ready. yes I have no life lmao well least not for a few days.
An' ye harm none, do what ye will
Updated my god to include the picture of him and his holy symbol, pretied the post up so the pictures are located in the proper spot, now to figure out how to convice wikki to allow me to use HTML codes for his entry

Edit: Finished the initial make up of my god ont he wikki, didn't follow the standard look for it though. I rewrote the coding for the page so I could make it look a little more flashy and more personalised. all the previouse feilds are still there though along with some new ones. will edit it as I go.

Not found the map that is suposed to be used am assuming it hasn't ben updated into wikki yet.

I fully intend on statting up my Tempora. Invisible space-worms that manipulate time? Yes. Is this my attempt to establish a trend? Yes, yes it is. If anyone would like to help me out, offer tips in monster building, I would be quite game. I let my DDI subscription expire, so I don't have access to the monster builder or anything, and thus could use all the help I can get.

Just put a pushpin or draw a box around the area you are changing and in the popup put what change you made.  When we come to races... I'll have a few more instructions

though new to the game could I perhaps sugest adding more water to the map, the map as current would sugest to a world that maxed at 2 large continents, though a great starting point it would seam more prudent to suround the current map with a larger water area in which player/gods coudl raise land masses shaped as they would desire and located  within the blue mass whereever they choose. But again I am prety new so perhaps I am missing reasoning but that is my sugestion allt he same, would make the map more free and yet not hinder anything (though maybe require a larger picture for the map
An' ye harm none, do what ye will
*nods*  Yeah, this should not be viewed as the total extent of the world... rather, its a zoomed in section of the only part of the world that is at all... interesting at this time   If people make more landmasses, then I'll just zoom out and we'll have plenty of water to fill... but until that happens, I figure that having the best view of what is there already is more important.
