How to make things explode with thunder, frost, fire and radiance.

This is the most recent edit of a high damage mage build I've been working on, I posted it earlier as a pseudo-PEACH for a campaign i was going to be playing it in which is why i haven't brought it up to level 30 yet. I have significantly improved its damage since then.

The combo for most damage in 1 round at the moment is:

combo

Setup spend a few rounds charging delayed blast fireball, then proceed over two rounds as follows:

Setup:

move: fire sigil
minor: sustain Delayed Blast Fireball (or activate it)
standard: Crushing Titan's Fist     +33 vs reflex 3d8+1d4+54

Nova:

minor: promise of storm
minor: Stone Blood                      +35 vs fortitude 2d6+3d8+1d4+76
Standard: Stonewrack                 +35 vs reflex     5d6+3d8+1d4+76
AP
Standard: Delayed Blast Fireball  +35 vs reflex     8d8+3d8+1d4+76

Within burst 2 creatures take 23d8 + 7d6 + 4d4 + 281 (average of 363.82)
Within burst 3 creatures take 20d8 + 5d6 + 3d4 + 231 (average of 307.45)

The nova also leaves a zone of very difficult terrain, and a burst 3 area of immobilized targets.

If you want to go off like a nova, fire DB Fireball on turn 2, you only miss out on 3d8 damage.

Any notes regarding defenses/survivability are greatly appreciated as well. The armor let’s me use promise of storm twice in one encounter per day and is sort of a panic button for when things get real bad and I need to pseudo-nova again after my first bomb.

As an interesting note the Permafrost combo combines with the Radiant One level 21 feature to give a total bonus of +16 damage (5 from vulnerable, 8 from Radiant One, 3 from the Pyromancy school)

My House Rules Cryptic Commander: a Tiefling Wizard|Warlord - Arcane Wayfarer - Planeshaper that focuses on controlling every creature in an encounter. Feyknight: A Half-Elf Knight - Gladiator Champion - Marshall of Letherna build that uses Eldritch Strike and the White Lotus Riposte feats to create a decent catch-22 with his mark aura. Novamancer: a Wizard/Swordmage - Malec-Keth Janissary - Radiant One that specializes in area damage, somewhat item dependent but is capable of massive damage. the Epic Crit-Fisher: Avenger/Ranger-PMC-Eternal Seeker with a 2,560 damage crit-fishing nova. Eldritch Slayer: A Slayer - Kulkor - Destined Scion that uses a similar trick to the Knight, combined with Kulkor for some decent DPR. Polearm Seeker|Fighter: A Seeker|Fighter/Psion - Kensei - Destined Scion build that uses Polearm Momentum to not be super bad. Generic Runepriest: A generic type Runepriest/Fighter - Hammer of Vengeance - Destined Scion

...Couldn't resist.

You're either doing Cold damage and only Cold damage with your Frost Weapon, not Thunder/Fire/Radiant; so none of your Staff of Ruin, Pyromancy, Echoes of Thunder, Promise of Storm, or Elemental Echo bonuses work; or you're not doing Cold damage at all and your Shard, Gloves, Wintertouched, and Lasting Frost do nothing.

Also, this is a turn 4 nova (which isn't really a nova anymore, that's just mopup of the 2 creatures left alive) which is ruined by being unable to sustain for whatever reason.  In order to be effective, a Nova needs to occur on turns 1 or 2, your suggestion for Feast of Destruction is a significant reduction in the damage as well (6d8 lower).
"Invokers are probably better round after round but Wizard dailies are devastating. Actually, devastating is too light a word. Wizard daily powers are soul crushing, encounter ending, havoc causing pieces of awesome." -AirPower25 Sear the Flesh, Purify the Soul; Harden the Heart, and Improve the Mind; Born of Blood, but Forged by Fire; The MECH warrior reaches perfection.

i was not aware that the frost weapon turned all the bonus damage to frost as well, oh well, i guess i'll have to revert the build back to a somewhat older form. Also that's why I put nova in quotes, because it's not one.

Would using frozen whetstones instead work?

Edit: the reduction from 6d8 to 2d8 is about a 28 point reduction which is large, admittedly, but not backbreaking.
Edit2: can also fire off DB Fireball on turn two  for the nova round
