Spell Crumple
Instant (U)
Counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, put it on the bottom of its owner's library instead of into that player's graveyard. Put Spell Crumple on the bottom of it's owners library.

Devour for Power.
Edit: It's uncommon, which means it's going to appear in all the blue decks.

Well, I know that deck I'm getting.  A second Hinder is sweet.
Wizards ate my account that needed no sig, so I guess I need one now.
Thought I'd inform y'all that there's more cards (Actually, give that credit to Raedien). I'll leave the rest to you though, as I'm busy and just felt like spreading the message.
nvm, posted some anyway. You guys too slow.
Hinder that you can't use graveyard recursion on, but a lot better with tutors.

I personally wonder what Crumple means, but haven't bothered to google it, so that's my fault.

Uh...? Crumple is a common English word that means 'crush so that it becomes creased and wrinkled'.

The spell itself is cool. Another auto-include in all Commander decks, I guess.

Embrace imagination.

Might be, but I've never seen it used. I've only seen crumble.

Most common usage: crumple up a piece of paper and throw it across the room into a trash can.

Really?  I thought Hinder made EDH less fun, I didn't know blue decks needed a second copy of it...
Plus it plays nicer with Mystical Teachings than Hinder does. Provided you have or lying around and desperately need to kill a spell.
A better Hinder! I approve.

It's not better so much as doing two things:

I think they don't want to reprint arcane spells as arcane since they've said multiple times it's too parasitic (although with Hinder, the flavor isn't getting in the way like it did with Kodama's Reach).

They admitted that no one ever counters a spell just so that their opponent can cast it again a turn later.
Hinder isn't arcane though.

Never heard that opinion before.  Hinder and friends provide nessicary tools to keep crazy generals in check.

Doh. Why the heck isn't it? Maybe they had foresight after all.

Also, now I'm really confused why they printed it.

Functionally identical cards in a singleton format annoy me. Worse that they printed it for a singleton format.
This has some pretty nifty applications.
True post count: 9,900 Thanks Wotc for not counting archived posts. If I post without capital letters than means I'm posting from my phone. For some reason it hates typing capital letters. Am I the only one that feels this is a mistake? The EDH world does not need another Hinder :/

I'm with you on this.  In such a limited set of set of new cards using a slot for a funtional reprint seems like a waste.
I was gonna mention... this is really awkward sounding for a name too. I'd have preferred "crumple" if anything.
Interesting that it puts itself on the bottom too.  I like it.

well you're in luck, cause it ain't a functional reprint! ;) it goes to the bottom of your library after it counters something.
You'll forget you ever read this the minute you look away.

there is nothing "epic" about a turn one victory. ever. or really any magic game, for that matter.
So this one time, I wanted to play a game of Magic with my friend, but he was in another country and neither of us had Magic Online. I hitchhiked my way to the coast, barely fending off hungry wildlife when I couldn't get a ride, nearly dying of thirst crossing deserts, and posoning myself half to death foraging for food. At one point, I was taken hostage by a group of kidnappers, only managing to escape after a week of careful planning thanks to careful application of a rusty spoon. Once I reached the coast, I had no money to buy a ticket across the ocean, so I built a boat using my own two hands, and spent months sailing across the waves, nearly losing my deck as I swam to the shore of a desert island in a storm after being capsized by an enormous wave. Nearly delusional after so long with no human contact (the notches I cut in the single tree to tell time had long since felled the thing) I was eventually rescued by a passing ship, where I was taken aboard as a crew member. We sailed around the world, seeing many exotic places and having great adventures, before we finally arrived at my friend's country. Once more I stumbled across a desolate landscape, riding on train or car when I could, and going on foot when I could not. Eventually, weary to the bone, seven years after I started my journey, I arrived at my friend's house, clutching my well-worn and weathered deck to my chest. We shuffled up our decks, I won the roll. Gleefully, I laid down my cards. Black Lotus. My friend looked quizzically at me, wondering what I was about to do. After so long, he no longer knew what deck I had brought with me to this game. Flash. A knowing smile appears on my friend's face as the knowledge slowly returns to him. Protean Hulk. My friend extends his hand, knowing the game is over before it even started. And finally, after so many trials, the sweet taste of victory is mine.

So no one else is upset with the stunt Wizards just pulled to drive sales?
Drive sales of what? Non-Jace, non-Mystic cards? I'm pretty sure people already own more than eight Magic cards. If you don't, I feel for you. Maybe you can trade those Stoneforge Mystics, which are still quite valuable, for some.
Well I *was* looking forward to the EDH decks. Adding another Hinder to the format has single-handedly taken most of that excitement away. [sarcasm] Good job WotC! [/sarcasm] Guess I have to add a ton of tutors to all my decks now, in spite of the fact that I don't particularly feel they're in the spirit of the format and so chose to minimize them/not run them at all. Fighting without my general because it got tucked always makes games feel terrible, even if I win, and now there's two Hinders to deal with which was always the worst way to get my general tucked. And to make it even worse, this one is repeatedly tutorable. And oh yeah, let's not forget this adds yet another tool to the stupid Tunnel Vision combo.
A solid card.
A better Hinder! I approve.

Better? I don't know that its better. You can't recur it, and it leaves you open to getting his with Tunnel Vision... but I know its going in instead of any number of silly counters I might be running.

Dont you mean Unnecessary?

That combo dies to Terramorphic Expanse for MaRo's sake.

Really?  If Commander is about building a deck around your cool legendary dude, spells that stop someone from ever playing their General seem un-fun.
If someone has an un-fun general, sure, it's nice to eleminate their commander from their game of Commander.  But being on the receiving end of that (especially if you aren't playing the best general ever) is just horrible.   You just want to get your dude out and do what he does, and it always sucks when he gets countered or hit with removal.  But EDH is designed so you can get him back.  To throw their General into their deck like that, basically screws them out of the whole point of the game.  It's like if there was a spell in Legacy that said "You're opponent can only play spells currently legal in Standard."
