In Faster Combat: Encounter Triggers Checklist, today's new article on my D&D blog, I propose and show a simple image of a checklist-style "encounter tactics" presentation.  This approach helps DMs remember and more smoothly run all the mini-phases of combat.

What do you think of this encounter triggers checklist approach?

I'm extremely curious as to how all you 4e DMs out there handle the high phase count of 4e combat.  As usual, let me know here or there and thanks!

I don't sweat it, basically. If an encounter has a lot of triggers, I try to note the one or two most important, or most likely to occur and catch the rest as catch can. Works great for me and my group.
