No, it's not a deal for D&D product, they're selling a tv.  The tv screen shows a picture of DDM though, and the story is D&D related.  You know, I'm used to the Woot stories being pretty much unrelated to the product they're selling but this story is kinda wierd.  By the way, I looked for a Woe enchantment and couldn't find anything.  I wonder what his +2 Bat does?

"Man is made God's plaything, and that is the best part of him. Therefore every man and woman should live life accordingly, and play the noblest games... Life must be lived as play, playing certain games, making sacrifices, singing and dancing..." Plato, The Laws.
Just.plain.odd. But enjoyable!
Here are the PHB essentia, in my opinion:
  • Three Basic Rules (p 11)
  • Power Types and Usage (p 54)
  • Skills (p178-179)
  • Feats (p 192)
  • Rest and Recovery (p 263)
  • All of Chapter 9 [Combat] (p 264-295)
A player needs to read the sections for building his or her character -- race, class, powers, feats, equipment, etc. But those are PC-specific. The above list is for everyone, regardless of the race or class or build or concept they are playing.
