Those are very, VERY cool!
Perfect likeness: Robot, Guard Bot: Warhammer 40K, Tau Gun Drone.

Wow... that is a good likeness. Added.

Here's a list of miniature ideas for Gamma World. I'll be adding to the list as we go along, so please feel free to mention your own ideas:

Monsters:
All: KJordan's paper standees, One-monk standees
Android: Horrorclix Android, Dreamblade Freakazoid, also see PC Android ideas (below)...

PC's:
Android: Heroclix Ironman, Iron Widow, War Machine, Iron Monger, Mandroid, Cyborg, Rhino, Rocket Red, Box, Mandroid Armor, Robotman, Deathlok, Star Wars Bodyguard Droid, DDM Warforged, Dreamblade Borg Penitent, Necromunda Pit Slaves, Pulp City Sentry Bots, Taban ISC Faction, Pulp City Apebot

You can also use Warhammer 40k Tau Empire soldiers or Necron for Androids/Cyborgs. Not to mention you have the option of using any Humanoid figure since Androids can be as close to human looking as you want.
Perfect likeness: Robot, Guard Bot: Warhammer 40K, Tau Gun Drone.

Those are awesome, I just ordered 10!
Thanks!
Those Tau Drones are very nice. I'll have to pick some up.

When I was playing last weekend, one of the characters was a cockroach/android. She ended up using this Thri-Kreen mini, but the other option we had, that would have worked very nicely, was the Crucian, as he has a big shell on his back.
I started putting together my first Gamma World miniatures.

Here are two Dabbers:

I created them by combining the head and tail of the Heroclix "Hammer of Thor" figure Rocket Raccoon, with the body and helmet of a Heroscape Airborne Elite figure. I made a third one, which is similar to the first one above, but I haven't taken a picture of it yet. I just need to do a little bit of touchup work with paint, to cover up the "blank" areas of the head and tail that still have bare cut plastic showing. Overall, though, I'm quite happy with them.

My next project is making a bunch of Hoops using Heroclix Easy Company Medic and Sgt. Rock figures, attaching long rabbit ears from clay under the sides of their helmets (draped over their shoulder and down their back, like in the GW rulebook picture), and applying paint to their faces and hands (and Sgt Rock's bare chest). I might have to use some clay on their faces, but I'm trying to avoid that at the moment. I'll see if painting their faces works first.

And I'll post pictures here, of course.
Nice Porker figure here, third row center: www.crooked-dice.co.uk/store/s1r6_large....
Crooked Dice games in the UK. There seem to be a few other figures that would work nicely from this company.
Nice find! I see also that they sell the head separate, so you could order 3 pig heads to put on other figures. I like!

Kai Lin (Lizard Vine): Guard Drake (flocked), Warbound Impaler

I would add

Feymire Crocodile as a proxy for Kai Lin.

Feymire Crocodile as a proxy for Kai Lin.

Kai Lin are medium sized and the Feymire Croc is huge sized. But it's an excellent suggestion for anyone needing a really big Kai Lin.

Huh. You are correct. I guess I just never saw it as a medium figure size. Maybe if it was proped up on 2 legs, but on it's belly, it looks to be a 4 square figure. Even the scale illustrations in hte rulebook (pg.118) seems to make this point as it's length profile is roughly 3 times that of a human.

I know that the rules call it medium-sized, but I think I'm going to play it as a large creature.

Thanks for pointing that out for me though.

Well, the scale illustrations seem to have some issues: the Horl Choo for example (small) looks almost large (in previous editions the Horl Choo was described as "an odd black plant that looks like a lumpy porcupine with long quills, about a meter in diameter").

Still, in the previous editions the Kai Lin were described as "a 3-meter long, sinuous body" so I guess both the scale picture and effectively 'size medium' could be conceivable. But I completely understand playing them as large.

In case anyone wants to see one painted up, I used a Thumper War Captain (already on the list) and gave him a flamethrower as a stand in for a hoop.  Specifically, the Iron King from the introductory adventure.

[tchk*tchk*] Sweet!
Some new ones that I've discovered in my searches...

Hawkoid: MK Wereraven
Plant: male Thornhusk female MK Forest Nymph, Splinter, Thorn Maiden
Android/Giant combo: Heroscape Major Q10 (can also be used for a power-armored enemy)

Androids or Robot troops: SW Elite Sith Trooper, Sith Guard, Operative, Trooper 1, Trooper 2, Trooper Captain,
Klickies: MK Grappler
Vegepygmies: DDM Twig Blight
Thornies: DDM Warbound Impaler (reassigned from Kai Lin duty, due to being too big)
Orange Herps: Monsterpocalypse Vice Pincer
Soul Besh: Monsterpocalypse Cliff Hopper
Shieldbot: SW Sith Assault Droid ... oh, and I'd switch the ASN Assassin Droid to being a Sentybot, rather than a Shieldbot.

Some Star Wars minis I'm using for specific factions or cryptic alliances, simply based on their look, uniform, etc:

Pure Strain Humans (perhaps Ishtari): Galactic Alliance Scout and Trooper. Human Engineer. Human Mercenary. Human Soldier of Fortune. Czerka Scientist. Imperial Dignitary and Imperial Inquisitor.
Knights of Genetic Purity: Old Republic Captain, Commander, Guard, and Soldier. Elite Clone Trooper and Galactic Marine. I was also thinking of repainting these to match the Galactic Marine and Elite Clone Trooper... Snowtrooper 1, Snowtrooper 2, and Snowtrooper Commander.
Iron Society: Utapaun Soldier 1, Soldier 2, and Warrior.
Area 52 Aliens: Kaminoan Ascetic and Medic. Duros Mercenary, Scoundrel, and Scout. Weequay Pirate. Captain Mar Tuuk. Neimoidian Soldier 1, Soldier 2, and Warrior.
Xi: HK-50 Assassin Droid. Krath War Droid. Commando Droid 1, Commando Droid 2, and Commando Droid Captain.

Some new ones that I've discovered in my searches...

Excellent. I've added them here and in the FAQ.

Cryptic Alliances

I don't know if they've been mentioned already (though I doubt it as they are a small company), but On The Lamb's Brushfire Miniatures provide some good miniatures for re-purposing. They've got big Badders covered, as well as other miltant and crazed mutant rodents. Eventually they plan to release mutant reptiles and amphibians as well.

I have some vague concept of why, due to production costs vs quantity vs sales and all that, but it still surprises me a little each time I see it, how expensive some of the miniatures are from these smaller companies.

WotC has production orders in the millions for their lines (and they are produced in china, so cheap labor force and they're probably slowly poisoning us too), so there's little wonder why theirs are so inexpensive by comparison, but $35 for 3 miniatures... I mean, the detail on those badger-men is excellent. They are awesome looking miniatures, but still... I really would like to be one of the people who can afford to blow their cash on that kind of thing.
Funny you should say that... The Badgers are currently in the process of being retooled to reduce the amount of metal used. This should lower the cost for future runs.

First time posting in the Gamma Worlds thread.  I don't have my box yet (should be coming in the mail tomorrow) but I've already started on some miniatures I plan on using.

Nicely done. Those look really cool.

Thanks, I went looking through my bits box miniatures to try to come up with some off the wall pairings.
Some more miniatures, this time I tried for some miniatures the better displayed two different origins put together.

Those are absolutely brilliant MiniatureGeek. I love the countless variations on the Wood Golem sculpt. Where is that sculpt from? I can't quite place it.

Thank you, I had a few extras lying around and I wanted to try different combos that would work visually.  I know that I won't be able to have a miniature for every combo but it's fun to try Laughing.
While I was cleaning out a bunch of the Mage Knight figures I'd bought, I came upon some that would work perfectly for Neep Neeps.

The Black Powder Boomer www.trollandtoad.com/p80189.html
The Amotep Incinerator www.trollandtoad.com/p79508.html

Also, the picture is a little blurry, but here's my Tar Horror, made of black Sculpy clay, two plastic barrels that were with a truck model I bought, and a 2" round wooden base.

Tar Horror
Thats a great tar horror! Where did you get the plastic barrels for it?
I bought a reproduction Revell Ford Pick-up Truck model off ebay, to use in my Gamma World game, because it was pefectly sized to be 4x2 squares on the 1" scale maps. The truck is supposed to be for a "Plastering" business, so it comes with two barrels and various tools. The barrels are more like beer kegs than toxic waste barrels, but painting them up, they worked out just fine. I even painted the caps of the barrels to show that they are leaking black liquid.

Here are some better views:

My blog has been doing a series on where to find miniatures for the more "exotic" PC origins.  We've done several already, and will be doing more.  We list both unpainted and painted minis.  I don't think we'll be covering monsters, though I'll probably point readers to this forum post for that.  Here's a link to the series:

MG, I missed this thread earlier. I'm glad I saw it today! I have to say, your minis are impressive!
Here are the PHB essentia, in my opinion:
  • Three Basic Rules (p 11)
  • Power Types and Usage (p 54)
  • Skills (p178-179)
  • Feats (p 192)
  • Rest and Recovery (p 263)
  • All of Chapter 9 [Combat] (p 264-295)
A player needs to read the sections for building his or her character -- race, class, powers, feats, equipment, etc. But those are PC-specific. The above list is for everyone, regardless of the race or class or build or concept they are playing.

Thank you, most of my collection stems from my pack rat like tendencies.  Most of the really obscure ones are old Digimon mini's that I collected years ago.  I've always held on to them hoping to one day find a system that could use.  Gamma World fit that nicely.

While I don't have near the collection of some, my name came from college when in the group I hung out with we all assigned each other geek titles based on what fit us best.  Seeing as a I had a large collection of miniatures (and also maybe due a little to my height) I got the moniker Miniature Geek.

Thanks for your posts there. I've already found the Cockroach entry to be useful, and I'll be checking out your other posts too. (The Spriggan Minis Spugs he mentions there are great! There are 28mm ones, but also 15mm ones, which would be great for small German or Nymph Klickies). A US distributor is here.

I also found these, which would be good for use as Klickies:

DDM Xill (less expensive than Thri-Kreen!)
Old Glory Minis Glock-Roach

The entire "New Superfigs" page on Old Glory is awesome for Simian or Yeti origin characters. I see a Simian/Plastic, a Simian/Hawkoid and a Yeti/Nightmare. There's also a Hawkoid/Humanoid, a Plastic/Humanoid, and several other "more or less human" mutant figs on there. Great find, ScottyMet!

That whole SuperFigs category (I mean, the category above "New SuperFigs!") is pretty great.
