Saving Throw Versus Love has been selected by FringeNYC to be part of the 2010 Best of FringeNYC Encores. Saving Throw Versus Love premiered at the 2010 New York International Fringe Festival. It is a new comedy by Larry Brenner, directed by Dann Fink. Performances will begin June 20th, 2010 at Players Theater (115 Macdougal Street).
FringeNYC Encore Series is now in its Fifth year and gives theatre lovers a second chance to see some of the Festival’s favorite shows. It is a showcase of some of the best and most crowd-pleasing shows from the New York International Fringe Festival, most of them right from their sold out runs.
The FringeNYC cast featured Joe Aiello, Klea Blackhurst, Kerry Flanagan, Matthew Hammond, Rob Marnell, Dan McCabe and Michael “Tuba” McKinsey and had scenic design by Stephen Dobay, lighting design by J. Reginald Skowronski, and sound design by Emma Wilk. The play centers around Carol and Sam - Carol thinks Sam goes to a weekly poker game…but he has a secret. Sam’s been playing a half-Elven bard in a Caverns & Creatures game for years, and when they get engaged, his loyal buddies force Sam to finally come out to Carol as a Gamer.
