Hey kids. What's cracklin? Yeah, nothing, cool beans. Anyway, you might have heard, but Magic has a bunch of creature types. A whole bunch. And I'm going to use this thread to make a card of each creature type. Either that, or I'll stop a couple cards in and give up!!

Here they all are. Just, like, for reference.

Assuming not all are tribal-related, what about the basic race-class system? Sure, you can do a human, but how do you do a Soldier? Maybe one from the Nameless Race?
Post One: Advisor

Thoughtcatcher Page
Creature -- Human Advisor
Whenever you discard a card during your cleanup step, exile it instead.
, sacrifice Thoughtcatcher Page: Return up to three cards exiled by Thoughtcatcher Page to your hand.
"Oh! But the credit is all yours, sir."

@S_U: Oh, silly goose. Sometimes they'll have more than one creature type.

Like Elemental Crocodile. Or Fox Dragon.

Post Two: Ally

Bloodspurt Adept
Creature -- Demon Ally
Whenever Bloodspurt Adept or another Ally you control deals combat damage, you may gain 1 life and put a +1/+1 counter on Bloodspurt Adept.
"Well, you may take personal and spiritual offence at his methods, but you can't argue with his results."

Post Three: Angel

Freyhildr, Valkyrie
Legendary Creature -- Angel Warrior
Flying
Whenever a nonangel creature you control is destroyed as a result of combat, put a white 4/4 Angel creature token onto the battlefield.
Legend speaks of the Valkyrie, whose frost-winged throngs of fallen warriors dwarfed even the hordes of Asgard.

Post Four: Anteater

Toro, the Slumbering
Legendary Creature -- Anteater
When Toro, the Slumbering enter the battlefield, you may destroy any number of target Ants. Then, if five or more Ants are destroyed this way, Toro, the Slumbering becomes a 12/12 Demon creature with flying named Toro the Fulfilled.
Dominaria's most ancient evil.

I meant how do you know which type is emphasized (if tribal isn't involved everywhere). Glory Seeker would be a good Human and Soldier.

Also, I have to say it just because you're focusing on types. There are no Ants. >>
They made Anteater a type just because of Prowling Pangolin? That's dumb. Why not just "Beast"?

Anyway, I'm most def gonna watch this thread.

I don't think the OP says anything about emphasising or focusing on types. Just that JV intends to make a card of each type. Hooray for everything.
Anyway, I'm most def gonna watch this thread.

This.

I will be driving you sir.

Either that, or I'll stop a couple cards in and give up!!

Funny story: InQuest Magazine (I think it was InQuest) had an oversized Chaos Orb which I totally rooked someone into allowing into a (non-sanctioned) game. I had a proxy card that was a Mountain with "Chaos Orb" written on it. When I played it, my opponent cried foul: Him: "WTF? a Proxy? no-one said anything about Proxies. Do you even own an actual Chaos Orb?" Me: "Yes, but I thought it would be better to use a Proxy." Him: "No way. If you're going to put a Chaos Orb in your deck you have to use your actual Chaos Orb." Me: "*Sigh*. Okay." I pulled out this huge Chaos Orb and placed it on the table. He tried to cry foul again but everyone else said he insisted I use my actual Chaos Orb and that was my actual Chaos Orb. I used it, flipped it and wiped most of his board. Unsurprisingly, that only worked once and only because everyone present thought it was hilarious.

Hi guys! So, I'm a sort of returning player to Magic. I say sort of because as a child I had two main TCG's I liked. Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon. Some of my friends branched off in to Magic, and I bought two pre-made decks just to kind of fit in. Like I said, Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon were what I really knew how to play. I have a extensive knowledge of deck building in those two TCG's. However, as far as Magic is concerned, I only ever used those two pre made decks. I know how the game is played, and I know general things, but now I want to get in the game for real. I want to begin playing it as a regular. My question is, are all cards ever released from the time of the inception of this game until present day fair game in a deck? Or are there special rules? Are some cards forbidden or restricted? Thanks guys, and I will gladly accept ANY help lol.
I have the same problem with women.

That's what RPJesus tends to do. That's why I don't think he's a real person, but some Magic Card Archive Server sort of machine, that is programmed to react to other posters' comments with obscure cards that do in fact exist, but somehow missed by even the most experienced Magic players. And then come up with strange combos with said cards. All of that is impossible for a normal human to do given the amount of time he does it and how often he does it. He/It got me with Light of Sanction, which prompted me to go to RQ&A to try and find if it was even possible to do combat damage to a creature I control (in light that Mark of Asylum exists).

I think you just killed all chances of my card being elegant. Ardency :1mana::symwu::symbr: Tribal Instant - Soldier You may have target opponent gain control of 3 permanents you control rather than pay ~'s mana cost. As an additional cost to cast ~, choose two creatures you control, and sacrifice the rest. If you control a soldier, you can't sacrifice permanents this turn. Landfall - If you had a land enter the battlefield under your control this turn, instead choose 4 creatures. Kicker You get an emblem with "As long as you control both chosen creatures, they have protection from everything." If ~ was kicked, creatures you control get +1/+1 for each creature card in your graveyard until end of turn. Cycling :2mana: When you cycle ~, put two 2/2 Soldier creatures onto the battlefield. Would this EVER fit on a card?~
Aside from a few wording mishaps (should say "each chosen creature" because it's not necessarily two) this is nice. Very simple and elegant. I like the alternate cost a lot, and the kicker goes nicely with the sacrifice. However, the cycling seems a bit powerful (4 power and a card for 3? Cycling is supposed be bad. 8/10 EDIT: Just looked up "ardency". Lol.

I don't think nonlethal is a valid word for rules text (reminder text, it is). You could probably get the same effect by adding an intervening if clause "Whenever a creature is dealt damage, if that creature is on the battlefield, untap Bloodthirsty Backstab." But then, if someone came up with something like...Vanishingtouch "creatures dealt damage by this are exiled." it wouldn't work anymore...okay, nevermind. :P But I'm going to go try to develop this Vanishingtouch idea...

Make five-color hybrid tribal instant with buyback, kicker, cycling, card draw, token production, a steal effect, alternate casting cost and landfall that embodies the love that your mom and I share.
Lol.

Post Fourteen: Avatar

I'm not exactly sure what an Avatar is, but here we go!!

Praetor of the Wilds
Creature -- Avatar
Spend only mana produced by basic lands to cast Praetor of the Wilds.
Praetor of the Wilds gets +3/+3 for each nonbasic land controlled by an opponent.
"It is our own trappings of civilization that doom us. The wilderness shall once again roam free. Our chimneys shall be our only gravestones, and flesh shall be the mulch of a new age."

Avatar, as defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary Online:

1 : the incarnation of a Hindu deity (as Vishnu)
2 a : an incarnation in human form b : an embodiment (as of a concept or philosophy) often in a person
3 : a variant phase or version of a continuing basic entity
4 : an electronic image that represents and is manipulated by a computer user (as in a computer game)

I believe in Magic, 2a is what they go after.

I am Black/Green

Take The Magic Dual Colour Test - Beta today!

Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.

I am both selfish and instinctive. I value growth and community, as long as they favour my own objectives; I enjoy nature, and I particularly enjoy watching parts of nature die. At best, I am resilient and tenacious; at worst, I'm uncontrollable and destructive.

Oh, but wait, there were multiple answers that fit my thoughts to some questions. What colors did they say I was?

I am Blue/Green

I am both rational and instinctive. I value self-knowledge and understanding of the world; my ultimate goal is self-improvement and improvement of the world around me. At best, I am focused and methodical; at worst, I am obsessive and amoral.

Yeah, Avatars tend to be humanoid incarnations of something where as Incarnations usually aren't humanoid (or at least aren't restricted to being even remotely humanoid).

Post Eight: Archon

Archon of the Innocent
Creature -- Archon
Flying
Whenever a creature you control with converted mana cost 2 or less is destroyed, put three +1/+1 counters on Archon of the Innocent. It deals damage equal to its power to target creature.
"I am the fury of the bereaved father, the wrath of the scorned mother, the rage of the countless survived. I am justice, and you will heed my call."

As much as I hate the concept of innocence, I think I love the concept of this card.

"Heroes are rare because heroism is so inherently stupid. In giving their all for the good of others, most die and are forgotten.

In serving only yourself, however...."
