Design Notes

My version of Anakin is a little different than most interpretations. I tried to stick with giving him only abilities he displays in the films or abilities he is implied to have. Has the basics: Dark Rage, Force Grip, Move Object, Rebuke and Surge - abilities he did indeed use in action. Mind Trick he is implied to have and Force Slam is just better than Force Thrust, so that was a no-brainer.

In what will probably be considered an unusual move, I didn't give him Ace Pilot levels or any Starship Tactics feats. Again I focused mainly on the film Anakin, who doesn't display his piloting skills in the same way he does in other media. In RotS he successfully lands half of a captial ship on a planet, which itself is an amazing feat, but none of the Ace Pilot talents seemed to fit his 'film skills' as I saw it. I figured Vehicular Combat and Force Pilot were enough to satisfy his too little-displayed 'best star pilot in the galaxy' abilities.

Like some of the other versions, I've gone the Force Regimen route to allow him access to abilities he would need more levels to grab. Quiet the Mind in particular can grant him the Visions talent without needing Force Perception. The Visions talent is a must have for Anakin in my book. And since I've never seen the Strong in the Force feat as really all that worthwhile (or indeed really showing any extra strength in the Force), I gave him Force Boon instead. Anakin just seems like the kind of guy who would be spending Force Points more often to boost his all-around prowess (enhancing attack rolls, boosting Force powers, etc.). This version represents Anakin having just gained the title of Darth Vader and picking up his first Sith Apprentice level, hence the full Force Point total.

Now that the contest has done 2 Force users why not have the third be a normal person? Here are some suggestions:

HK 47- This would be a nice tie in with the recent droid book.

Jabba the Hutt

Carth Onassi

Han Solo

Boba Fett

Canderous Ordo

Mandalore the Ultimate

Well, as per a request from another board member, the next contest will be a Force user... but after that, who knows?

Here are some suggestions:

Design Notes

This is my attempt at creating Obi-Wan Kenobi as I see him as of the beginning of Episode III with a blend of both combat- and skill-based abilities.

Original Ability scores were based on a 35 point buy with the fourth level increases applied in brackets beside that score (destiny bonuses are not included in this list):
Str 14, Dex 12 (+3), Con 12, Int 15 (+1), Wis 15 (+1), Cha 13 (+1)

Obi-Wan Kenobi was 38 years old as of Episode III, which is just inside the Adult age boundary for Humans.

In regards to skills:
It has been noted that, despite his dislike of flying, Obi-Wan was an accomplished pilot (so should at least be trained in the skill). Gather Information and Persuasion just seem necessary given his abilities in both investigation and negotiation - thus part of the reason for the Noble levels I've given (which I think fit him very nicely).

In regards to abilities and feats:
The talents and feats selected reflect both his phenomenal defensive abilities (Melee Defence, Wary Defender, Guardian Strike for defending others, etc.), lightsabre proficiency and his traits as a general and leader of the GAR (hence the other reason for the Noble levels as it allows progression into the Officer prestige class).

In regards to Force abilities:
Force powers are in line with what has been seen in the films and I have included two lightsabre form powers - Circle of Shelter as an acknowledged master of Soresu should have, Hawk-bat Swoop feels to me like what he used to defeat Darth Maul (and also ties in to his original focus on Ataru before Qui-Gon's death influenced his switch of form). The Force Regimens are to give him a few extra abilties - Vo'ren's First Cadence gives him the ability to use Severing Strike without having the talent (and is noted as complete as he can't actually fail it without rolling a natural 1), Awaken Force Sensitivity as he has done this with others on a few occasions (e.g. Cestus Deception), Sparring Practice and Training Remote to further enhance his lightsabre defensive traits.

Completed Destinies:

  • Discovery (Formation of the Separatist Alliance) - +1 bonus all defences

  • Education (Training of Anakin Skywalker) - +5 bonus to Use the Force checks

  • Destruction (Darth Vader) - awaiting completion

I think these contests have been great in many ways: in encouraging creativity, in promoting community participation and increasing community spirit.  My one concern is how many people are voting.  I went back and checked all 3 YBtC threads and two of the Knowledge of the Force contest threads, and the highest number of people who voted in those 5 contests was 28 (the highest for YBtC so far is 15).  Then I looked up how many Star Wars RPG community members we have and that is 990.  So less than 3% of the community voted in the highest voted contest.  Does anybody have any ideas on how we can increase the number of community members voting in these contests?

Well, first, we may have 990 registered members in the Star Wars RPG community, but how many of those are actually active? Furthermore, how many regularly visit the Praxeum (I'm willing to bet that most memebrs only visit the Mess Hall).

It would be nice to get more voters, but the only real thing you can do is advertise, and there comes a point where you're just being a nuisance. Don't get me wrong, I want people to get involved with YBtC, but I don't want to stray into shameless self-promotion.

That's true, so my numbers may be off.

Furthermore, how many regularly visit the Praxeum (I'm willing to bet that most memebrs only visit the Mess Hall).

If this is the case, then should we make an announcement in the Mess Hall when each contest first starts and then again when it's time to vote? (I know that the Knowledge of the Force contests make announcements in The Mess Hall, and they have nearly double the number of votes.)

I want people to get involved with YBtC, but I don't want to stray into shameless self-promotion.

And I don't think a quick announcement (as suggested above) would be shameless self-promotion or a nuisance.

Well, I did start a thread in the Mess Hall when the competition first started. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to resurrect it.

Where's the winning entry for the third competition based on Luke Skywalker... ?

(Thanks to everyone who voted me the winner for the Obi-Wan competition . I was very busy at the time which is why I haven't been overly active again until recently)
Where's the winning entry for the third competition based on Luke Skywalker... ?

Well, there was a minor problem with the stats, so I sent eskla a PM asking how they wanted to sort it out. I'm still waiting for a reply.

(If eskla doesn't get back to me, I'll just try to correct the stats in the least obtrusive way possible, staying faithful to the original intent.)

Here is the winning entry for the Luke Skywalker competition, created by eskla:

Luke Skywalker, Farmboy

Luke Skywalker (just prior to meeting Ben Kenobi)                                                               CL 1
Medium Human nonheroic 3
Init +2; Senses Perception +2
Languages Basic
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defences Ref 11 (flat-footed 10), Fort 11, Will 11
hp 12; Threshold 11
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speed 6 squares
Melee unarmed +3 (1d4+1)
Ranged slugthrower rifle +3 (2d8)
Base Atk +2; Grp +3
Atk Options autofire (slugthrower rifle)
Special Actions Vehicular Combat
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abilities Str 12, Dex 12, Con 12, Int 11, Wis 12, Cha 13
Feats Skill Training (Mechanics), Strong in the Force, Unified Squadron, Vehicular Combat, Weapon
   Proficiency (rifles, simple weapons)
Skills Mechanics +6, Pilot +10, Survival +7
Possessions slugthrower rifle, electrobinoculars

Design Notes

At this point in Luke’s life, he’s just an average Tatooine farm boy.  He has a latent connection with the force in the form of the Strong in the Force feat, and he’s a great pilot and a decent shot (After all, he used to bullseye womp rats back home.).  We see his skill with mechanics in A New Hope while he’s tinkering with the droids, and more when he shows his enthusiasm for picking up power converters.  Reflecting his ability to survive on the harsh world of Tatooine (He used to live there, you know.), he is also trained in survival.

Luke SKywalker, Jedi-in-Training

Luke Skywalker (as of training with Obi-Wan Kenobi on the Millennium Falcon)              CL 2
Medium Human nonheroic 3/Jedi 1
Destiny 1; Force 7, Strong in the Force
Init +3; Senses Perception +3
Languages Basic
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defences Ref 13 (flat-footed 12), Fort 13, Will 13; Deflect
hp 18; Threshold 13
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speed 6 squares
Melee lightsabre -1 (2d8+2)
Ranged by weapon +4
Base Atk +3; Grp +4
Special Actions Vehicular Combat
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abilities Str 12, Dex 13, Con 12, Int 11, Wis 12, Cha 14
Talents Deflect
Feats Force Sensitivity, Skill Training (Mechanics), Strong in the Force, Unified Squadron, Vehicular
Combat, Weapon Proficiency (rifles, simple weapons)
Skills Mechanics +7, Pilot +11, Survival +8, Use the Force +4
Possessions Anakin Skywalker’s lightsabre

Design Notes

Here Luke begins some of his Jedi training with Obi-Wan.  He learns some basic deflection techniques onboard the Millennium Falcon, and gains his destiny to destroy the Death Star along with his first heroic level.

Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper Armour

Luke Skywalker (as of the rescue on the Death Star I)                                                          CL 2
Medium Human nonheroic 3/Jedi 1
Destiny 1; Force 6, Strong in the Force
Init +1; Senses low-light vision; Perception +3
Languages Basic
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defences Ref 18 (flat-footed 17), Fort 13, Will 13; Deflect
hp 18; Threshold 13
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speed 6 squares
Melee unarmed +2 (1d4+1)
Ranged blaster rifle +2 (3d8)
Base Atk +3; Grp +4
Atk Options autofire (blaster rifle)
Special Actions Vehicular Combat
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abilities Str 12, Dex 13, Con 12, Int 11, Wis 12, Cha 14
Talents Deflect
Feats Force Sensitivity, Skill Training (Mechanics), Strong in the Force, Unified Squadron, Vehicular
Combat, Weapon Proficiency (rifles, simple weapons)
Skills Mechanics +7, Pilot +11, Survival +8, Use the Force +4
Possessions lightsabre (not carried), stormtrooper armour (+6 armour, +2 equipment) and gear, blaster
   rifle

Design Notes

Technically, this is the same build as the above.  The only real difference is the equipment: this one is wearing a set of stormtrooper armor.  Some of the numbers on this sheet don’t add up because Luke lacks the Armor Proficiency (light) feat, giving him a -2 armor check penalty and denying him access to the helmet package.

Luke Skywalker, Red 5

Luke Skywalker (as of the attack on the Death Star I)                                                           CL 3
Medium Human nonheroic 3/Jedi 1/soldier 1
Destiny 1; Force 7, Strong in the Force
Init +3; Senses Perception +3
Languages Basic
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defences Ref 14 (flat-footed 13), Fort 16, Will 14; Deflect
hp 25; Threshold 16
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speed 6 squares
Melee lightsabre +0 (2d8+4*)
Ranged blaster pistol +5 (3d6+3*)
Base Atk +4; Grp +5
Special Actions Manifest Guardian Spirit, Vehicular Combat
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abilities Str 12, Dex 13, Con 12, Int 11, Wis 12, Cha 14
Talents Deflect, Manifest Guardian Spirit
Feats Force Sensitivity, Skill Training (Mechanics), Strong in the Force, Unified Squadron, Vehicular
Combat, Weapon Proficiency (pistols, rifles, simple weapons)
Skills Mechanics +7, Pilot +11, Survival +8, Use the Force +4
Possessions lightsabre, blaster pistol, X-wing starfighter, flight suit
* Includes Destruction destiny bonus

Design Notes

Here, Luke joins in with the Rebel alliance and picks up a level of soldier as he joins the Alliance Navy.  Since Ben Kenobi is now dead, he picks up the Manifest Guardian Spirit talent, which he uses with his proton torpedoes to destroy the Death Star.  Note that his damage is higher than normal because he has a +2 destiny bonus to his damage rolls for attacking the Death Star.

Luke Skywalker, Rebel Commander

Luke Skywalker (as of the Battle of Hoth)                                                                               CL 5
Medium Human nonheroic 3/Jedi 3/soldier 1
Destiny* 1; Force 5, Strong in the Force
Init +4; Senses Perception +4
Languages Basic, Binary (understand only)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defences Ref 16 (flat-footed 15), Fort 18, Will 16; Deflect
hp 39; Threshold 18
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speed 6 squares
Melee lightsabre +7 (2d8+4)
Ranged ascension gun +7 (3d8+2) or
Ranged blaster pistol +7 (3d6+2)
Base Atk +6; Grp +7
Special Actions Manifest Guardian Spirit, Vehicular Combat
Starship Manoeuvres Known (Pilot +12): attack pattern delta, target sense
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abilities Str 12, Dex 13, Con 12, Int 13, Wis 12, Cha 14
Talents Deflect, Guardian Spirit, Manifest Guardian Spirit
Feats Force Sensitivity, Skill Training (Mechanics), Starship Tactics, Strong in the Force, Unified
Squadron, Vehicular Combat, Weapon Proficiency (lightsabres, pistols, rifles, simple weapons)
Skills Mechanics +9, Pilot +12, Survival +9, Use the Force +10
Possessions lightsabre, blaster pistol, ascension gun, T-47 airspeeder, flight suit
* Luke Skywalker is considered to have fulfilled the Destruction destiny

Design Notes

Empire takes place a few years later, and Luke has a few more levels and a few more tricks.  He finally takes The Starship Tactics feat (Note that Luke tells his squadron to utilize Attack Pattern Delta during the Battle of Hoth.) and becomes proficient with his lightsaber.  He uses his trained-only application of the Use the Force skill (trained from an intelligence up from his destruction: Death Star destiny completed in A New Hope) when he uses move light object to pick his lightsaber out of the ice in the wampa’s cave.  He also picks up Guardian Spirit so that Obi-Wan can tell him to go the Dagobah system to meet with Yoda.  He also has a new destiny to replace the one he completed in A New Hope.

Luke Skywalker, Son of Vader

Luke Skywalker (as of Bespin duel with Darth Vader)                                                         CL 10
Medium Human nonheroic 3/Jedi 5/soldier 4
Destiny* 2; Force 8,** Strong in the Force; Dark Side 1
Init +7; Senses Perception +7
Languages Basic, Binary (understand only)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defences Ref 21 (flat-footed 20), Fort 22, Will 21; Block, Deflect
hp 70; Threshold 22
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speed 6 squares
Melee lightsabre +12 (2d8+6) or
Melee lightsabre +14 (2d8+6) with Flurry
Ranged blaster pistol +12 (3d6+4)

Design Notes

Luke advances amazingly fast in his short time training with Yoda, but instead of learning the intricacies of the force, Yoda helps Luke hone his physical body.  Yoda makes Luke run and jump through the marshes of Dagobah, and Luke takes the Conditioning feat.  Luke utilizes the Block talent extensively in his duel with Vader, amplified by Luke’s newfound training in the Use the Force skill.  However, in Luke’s time in the cave of Dagobah, he also takes the Power of the Dark Side talent.  Luke also learns to understand Binary in Empire.  During Luke’s duel with Vader, his quick lightsaber attacks show his use of the Flurry feat, and his slower more powerful strikes are evidence of the Power Attack feat.  He also uses surge to jump out of the carbon freezing chamber and grabs onto some handing machinery (Most impressive.).  While climbing up the tubes, he is still able to effectively defend himself and block Vader’s attacks, showing his use of the Increased Agility feat.  At one point in the duel, Luke uses the falling avalanche lightsaber form power to knock Vader off a ledge.

Design Notes

Luke now has several more years to hone his Jedi skills.  He has both learned Djem So and built his own lightsaber on Tatooine with Help from books at Ben Kenobi’s old home.  He has also learned some of the intricacies of lightsaber combat, including Redirect Shot (which he uses on Jabba’s sail barge) and Weapon Focus.  He learns Huttese during this time, along with the dark rage, mind trick, and force grip powers, and the Skywalker loop starship maneuver thanks to his wisdom score increase.  His new cybernetic hand lowers his Use the Force skill by 1 and makes him vulnerable to ion damage.  Luke also uses both his instances of force grip along with his improved force grip force technique to choke two Gamorreans when he first enters Jabba’s palace.

In Luke’s final duel in the films, we see several new abilities.  He spends a large portion of the duel using the Stealth skill to hide from Vader in the shadows, while using reverse Dun Möch (a.k.a. Adept Negotiator) on him.  He also uses both dark rage and severing strike on his final assault on Vader.

Design Notes

For the last contest, I wanted to put together a Luke that was cohesive over time, but found I only had the time to manage one stat block. This time, I sat down and mapped out Han Solo as I saw him as he develops from A New Hope to Betrayal. I'd like to have gotten one more step in between Return of the Jedi and Vector Prime, but I didn't feel confident in my ability to parse up when he did his leveling during that time frame. Some design notes:

- Base stats Str 13, Dex 15, Con 13, Int 13, Wis 13, Cha 14 for a 34 point buy. Higher than the average
player character, but I felt that it was warranted. At 4th level, I gave him +1 Dex, +1 Int. Wookiepedia
stated he actively sought to educate himself in his youth, so I thought the +1 Int worked from an RP
  perspective.
- Destinies: I've seen a trend emerge lately, where people are giving stat builds a few too many
completed destinies in my opinion. Choosing two destinies for Han was difficult, but I decided on his
Rescue of Luke on Yavin IV and the Destruction of Warlord Zsinj. I chose these because both events
were pivotal, climatic moments which hinged on Han Solo's actions. While a case can be made for the
destruction of the shield generator on Endor, the actual destruction doesn't feel as climactic in the film
as the moment Han comes out of nowhere and blasts the TIEs.
- I thought about giving Han a destiny in the NJO or LotF, but neither series felt like it possessed
one for him. I'm going to assume he has a third destiny, but has yet to complete it as of Abyss, and
  therefore is not listed.
- For his DL-44, I decided to give it the Improved Damage tech specialty, since the LECG lists it as having
such. I'm assuming Han will die working towards his destiny, giving it the legacy weapon template and
giving it the Improved Accuracy tech specialty. I didn't stat that Han, though, because I'm not sure how
  one would stat a corpse.

Boba Fett at the age of 10. Extensive training from his father has already laid the groundwork for Boba's successful bounty hunter career. Notice his training in common vehicle and personal weapons as well as his training in self-defense. I gave him a destiny point so he could use it to shoot Obi-Wan during the duel on Kamino, allowing his father to successfully win the battle.

Design Notes

This is Qui-Gon right around the Cloak of Deception.  I used the RCR version posted in post #19 above as a starting point, using the Saga Conversion Guide to help convert it.  However, as the character building rules in Saga are quite different from RCR there was a lot of interpretation on my part.  I chose Force Boon so that Qui-Gon can spend FPs to protect adjacent characters with Block and Deflect (since Deflect [extend defense and attack] no longer exist).

Design Notes

I wanted to do something a little different with this build.  This is Qui-Gon after he has become one with the Force.  I added a level from the last build to reflect his increase in power in the Force necessary to become a Force spirit and to give him a Force power he could actually use as a Force spirit.  I based the way I did these stats on the Obi-Wan Spirit stats in the Alliance and Empire minis preview.  I tried only to list stats that he could actually use as a Force Spirit (based on that preview).

I just wanted to point out that I think only 2 of the 6 winners have put "Winner of YBtC #" in their signature.  I think if all of us did it, it would increase awareness of the contests and hopefully get more people to enter and/or vote.  I think when people see something like that in someone's signature, they're likely to go "What is that?" I put a link to the contest thread in my proclamation of winnership so that people can find out what it is.  And hopefully when they see it's happening right here on these boards, they'll want to be a part of it.

My thoughts on Mace Windu:

Mace Windu was one of the greatest Jedi Masters and lightsaber duelists of all time. He could mop up a battalion of Federation droids, or go toe-to-toe with any other Jedi Master or lightsaber duelist in existence. However, Windu proved himself exceptional in other respects, whether it was commanding troops, acting as diplomat, teaching a padawan, leading the Jedi Order, or using the Force. Although some criticized his fighting style as bordering on the edge of the dark side, he was always able to maintain control and stand for the light.

My statblock was inspired by the movies (episodes 1‑3), Clone Wars animated volumes, the Wookieepedia article, and the Mace Windu statblock from Clone Wars Campaign Guide page 129.

My explanation of the stats:

What is interesting about this build is the amount of damage that can be dealt in a single blow. By combining Battlestrike with Tempered Aggression, Vaapad, and Juyo, Mace will greatly increase his chances of scoring a critical hit. If he does critical, he can spend a Force Point to add +2d6 to his Battlestrike damage. That means he will be doing a devastating (2d8+20+5d6)x3, which is an average of about 138 damage per round! If you add Power Attack, you can possibly reach 170 damage or more. Master of the lightsaber indeed…

Other explanations of the build:

I gave Mace his signature Vaapad lightsaber form, but I added the Tempered Aggression lightsaber form power since the description fits his fighting style.

Mace can clear up massive amounts of battle droids in one round with a Triple Attack and Cleave for a 4 attacks in one round. A Powered Whirlwind Attack (granted by Vo’ren’s Second Cadence) can take out all adjacent foes. Triple Crit triples the damage on a critical hit, which he threatens with a natural 19 also. When under fire, Block, Deflect, and Redirect Shot are effective. He can use a Force Point to Block or Deflect for an adjacent ally also. The Sparring Practice lightsaber training regimen grants 2 temporary Force Points to activate the Block talent, which don’t count toward the “one Force Point per round” limit. The Training Remote regimen grants the identical benefit but for Deflect instead of Block. Voren’s Third Cadence regimen allows the use of Force Points to Block and Deflect even when it’s not your turn. These regimens can be used once a day, so Mace can anticipate which regimen will grant the most useful benefits for that day.

The Force secrets Devastating Power, Enlarged Power, Multitarget Power combined with Destiny Points explain Mace’s remarkable feats pushing dozens of battle droids in Clone Wars animated volumes. He used up his DP’s in that series; that’s why he has none left.

Mace also has the Shatterpoint force power and Improved Shatterpoint, which allowed him to see the weak points in his opponents. However, he also saw the Shatterpoint in circumstances and the Force, which is why I assigned him the Force Perception talent, the Farseeing force power, and the Quiet the Mind force regimen, which grants the benefit of the Visions talent.

When Mace crushed General Grievous with the force, he used Force Grip with Debilitating Power and a Destiny Point, moving Grievous -3 steps along the condition track. This simulates how Mace devastated Grievous’ armor and organs (the lungs in particular), causing the coughing fits the cyborg would have for the rest of his life.

Due to his negotiation skills and command ability, I gave him a level of Noble with training in Persuasion, as well as the Born Leader Talent.

Mace’s current destiny is “Champion.” He leads the Jedi Order through the Clone Wars. Mace will die in the pursuit of his destiny.

Design Notes

My version of Yoda as of his exile on Dagobah after his defeat by Darth Sidious at the end of Revenge of the Sith.

I decided to build as comprehensive a picture of Yoda as I could so I chose a place in time where he was at his most powerful.

I started with a 28 point buy with Str 10, Dex 15, Con 10, Int 12, Wis 14, Cha 14. I applied level 4 ability increases to Str and Dex, level 8 to Dex and Wis level 12 to Con and Wis, level 16 to Dex and Con and level 20 to Dex and Wis, I then applied age modifiers for a whopping -6 to Strength, Dexterity and Constitution and a +3 to Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma. That gave me his current ability scores.

Trained skills were easy. Galactic lore represents his knowledge of the Force, traditions, history, planets and all some such. Tactics came in because Yoda was largely responsible for strategy during the Clone Wars. I chose Acrobatics so he could qualify for Acrobatic Strike which I am about to go into.

Feats. Feats were a little hard. Some were obvious. SF UTF, Strong In The Force, Weapon Focus (lightsabers) all easily added. Now to me the Ataru talent doesn’t really do the style justice. That’s where Weapon Finesse, Running Attack and Acrobatic Strike come in. Those feats combine to really give Yoda mastery of the Ataru form. Unleashed came in at the very very end as I moved feats around I put it as his level 18 feat and overall I think he deserves it as it can cover a lot of his abilities in the cartoons.

Talents were another thing that was pretty easy to pick. In fact I had so many in mind, it was hard to narrow them down. Deflect, Block, Redirect Shot all musts for the master of the lightsaber. Adept Negotiator and Force Persuasion cover his diplomatic abilities but so does Skilled Advisor. Skilled Advisor also can cover his instructing abilities since it grants a good +5 or a whopping +10 bonus. I can just imagine him using that to give a padawan a bonus to a UTF check or a diplomat on a Persuasion check. Now Force Perception and Visions I thought were good since he was adept at seeing all, past, present and future. And again, Ataru and Lightsaber Throw were must-haves.

The Force Powers were a bunch of picking and choosing with a concentration on Farseeing and Move Object. Force Techniques show his mastery of Move Object with Force Power Mastery and Extended MO. And finally the Force Secrets. The only one I was sure about was Mentor, the others I kind of chose what I thought fit the Grand Master.

My inspirations for this build were the Clone Wars series (the newer one), the Wookieepedia article, and the movies, again trying to build as comprehensive a Yoda as possible.

Um Jedi Comedian, I hate to be a stickler, but I noticed some inconsistencies in my build. There small and I guess I only noticed them because I worked so hard on him, but I checkd my word processor copy to be sure. I never gave him the Guardian Spirit talent or the Battle Strike or Negate Energy powers and I gave him two uses of the saber swarm lightsaber form power.

Did I miscount how many talents and powers to give him? Just curious, please don't be mad. I don't want you to think I'm one of those people who's never satisfied or something like that.

BTW, Mara Jade Skywalker.........the hotness, good choice!

Jedimike, I sent you a PM about this. Basically, your build was missing a few things - a Jedi Master talent, 3 Force powers (the two uses of sabre swarm weren't included in your original post) and a Force regimen. I filled in the gaps myself, but as soon as you let me know what you want to do about it I'll update the post with your choices.

And hey, of course I wouldn't be mad. This is your winning entry, you have a right for it to be the way you want. Smile

Design Notes

"I always play fair. Exactly as fair as my opponents."
- Mara Jade talking to Caaldra as he dies

This is my attempt at creating Mara Jade as I see her as of Allegiance - effectively after her training as an agent has been completed and she begins her missions for the Emperor wholescale.

Original Ability scores were based on a 35 point buy with the fourth level increases applied in brackets beside that score:
Str 10, Dex 16, Con 11 (+1), Int 15 (+1), Wis 14, Cha 14

Mara Jade was 17.5 years old as of Allegiance, which is inside the Adult age boundary for Humans.

In regards to skills
:
The skills chosen reflect the key abilities she demonstrated in Allegiance, though she has not yet advanced far enough in her career to have focused in any particular area. That said, her abilities are considerable and diverse inspite of that.

In regards to abilities and feats
:
The feats chosen reflect her weapons training, while Weapon Finesse reflects her precision with a lightsabre. As she managed to knock one of the Commodore's men unconcious whilst unarmed and laced her sabre/pistol strikes with her fists, it seems fitting to give her Martial Arts I. Disruptive reflects her ability to irritate and distract her opponents - something Mara is especially good at. ;)

In regards to Force abilities
:
Force abilities are fairly standard, Deflect and Redirect Shot are needed as she often dispatched her opponents with their own blaster bolts. She doesn't have Skill Focus (Use the Force) as she said in Dark Tide I that most of her early training did not involve the Force at all. I did consider the Telepathic LinkKotOR and LinkJATM talents to reflect Mara being able to hear the Emperor's voice throughout the galaxy, but I ultimately decided against it as those talents have very limited ranges and would only have an effect at close range - something Mara is unlikely to be within given the nature of her missions.

In regards to Force Powers:
*Circle of Shelter was used to help defend herself and Tannis from the Bloodscar's
*Move Object was used on various occasions, but the obvious one was when she used it to move her lightsabre across the rooftops of Gepparin so that the pirates wouldn't find it and that she'd still have a weapon.
*Surge was used in various places, though she mostly used it for Force-enhanced jumps.
