Recently, we took steps to indefinitely mute or terminate the accounts of Magic Online players who engaged in behavior that was negative to the Magic community. These players all demonstrated a repeated disregard for the Wizards Code of Conduct and other Magic Online players. Because of this, the decision was made to prevent them from chatting with other players, or, in the most extreme circumstances, to deny them further access to the game.
It is our goal to make Magic Online a safe and fun place for everyone to enjoy! But we need your help to reach that goal. Be the type of player that you want to see in our community. Even when the game might not be going your way, it’s important to remain friendly.
However, if you encounter someone who is behaving in a way that makes you uncomfortable or reduces your enjoyment of the game, we urge you to do two things:
- First, report any Code of Conduct violations.
- Second, block the user so you won’t have to see any further chats from them. In both versions of the client, you can right-click the person’s username and then select “Block User.”
In addition to taking the above actions against players who've violated the Code of Conduct, we have also suspended or terminated several accounts found to be violating our terms of service through unauthorized client interactions. As a reminder, you can review the user agreement and software license for Magic Online.
We sincerely hope you’ll join us in a continuing effort to make Magic Online a better place to play every day.
