If Magic Missle had a theme song.....

I know this seems silly but I'm bored and just had this random thought:

The legendary Magic Missile, if it had a theme song, what would it be?
"Hit Me With Your Best Shot".
"I Ain't Missing You At All" by John Waite
"Ain't nowhere to run" by Ozzy Osbourne
"Here I Go Again" , by Whitesnake
All old songs, how very appropriate.

I pick Last Christmas by Wham, since it is just as old, useless and whiny as Magic Missile.
I have no answer whatsoever for this. But as a D&D player and a musician, I have to say that these answers are hilarious!!!!! I just shared them with my partner (she's a relatively newcomer to D&D) and even she is laughing at them! Great stuff!
"I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston

Cuz seriously - who doesn't love casting Magic Missile at the darkness?

I do, however, have one last lesson on this subject. That last one? The only build in this post that can one-shot average opponents[by dealing twice as much damage as they have HP? I would argue that it is not optimized. Why isn't it optimized? Because it's overkill. Overkill is NOT optimizing. This means that there are portions of this build dedicated to damage which can safely be removed and thrown elsewhere. For example, you probably don't need both Leap Attack AND Headlong Rush at the same time. You could pick up Extra Rage feats for stamina, feats to support AoO effects, feats that work towards potential prestige classes, and so on. However, you could also shift our ability scores around somewhat. I mean, if you're getting results like that with 16 starting Strength, maybe you can lower it to 14, and free up four points to spend somewhere else - perhaps back into Charisma, giving you some oomph for Intimidating Rage or Imperious Command if you want. You can continue to tune this until it deals "enough" damage - and that "enough" does not need to be "100%". It could easily be, say, 80% (leaving the rest to the team), if your DM is the sort who would ban one-hit killers.

So when do you think Bachmann will be saying she met a mother the previous night that had a son who got a blood transfusion using a gay guy's blood, and now the son is retardedly gay?

As Savatage is our favorite band, I desperately wanted one of their songs to work, but nothing did (at least nothing from their later albums, the only ones we like (Streets and later)). Fortunately, I did think of some Blind Guardian options:

"Punishment Divine" from A Night at the Opera (which surprised us since every BG album we bought before it was Tolkien-based).

"Ashes to Ashes", and "Theatre of Pain" from Somewhere Far Beyond.

I especially like the last one, especially since my last wizard's MM manifested as a pair of ethereal fists, one of which grabbed the target's shirt front while the other gave him a good pommeling. Now whenever anyone uses MM I'll hear "Don't fear your last step / from the theater of pain" in the back of my head – especially if it's a killing blow.

"I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston Cuz seriously – who doesn't love casting Magic Missile at the darkness?

If my wife weren't at work right now she'd be yelling at the monitor – Dolly Parton wrote it (and we think she sings it better, but that's our opinion, of course). 8o)

Meh. Not my fault y'all evidence a lack of taste by listening to country.

Seriously, though: I had no idea who wrote it, nor that Parton had ever sung it. The only versions I'm familiar with are Houston's, and the dood singing it in the movie. Of the two, Whitney does it better.

You're not missing anything Draco. I just subjected myself to Parton's version and it's garbage.
