Ages ago, Lolth’s children descended into the depths of the earth. There, the dark elves have become mighty… and now they are ready! As the drow move against Faerun, help stand against them by uncovering their war plans and anticipating their dark plots.

We will be giving clues for the Drow Puzzle Hunt in the forums from time to time, and people may want to discuss the clues they've found elsewhere, such as the website, twitter, or our Facebook page. This thread will have any new clues we post to the forums and will be for anyone who wants to discuss the clues, share them with others, or discuss the story so far.

Don't forget to visit the drow puzzle hunt page above to enter your answers to the clues and unravel more of what the drow are planning!

I am not so sure--I am not really in it for the prizes, more just to have fun & I am struggling to have fun with these clues...

If there was a way to 'figure out' the clue, I would be enjoying this a lot more--and if  the way one figured it out was to play in encounters, that would be even better!

So far all of these questions have been very much like the crossword puzzle hints--either you know them or you do not [and for the record, I don't know the answers at all--ever]. I could Google Vesperin & then poke around some FR site and have an answer in ... let me see copy past, search, first hit, done--took less then 30 seconds but was not that vast an amount of fun...I would like to see a model in which players actually have a way to figure out the answers...
Personally I’m in it for the Lore.  The prizes are lame by comparison.  I don’t use wallpapers and e-book excerpts aren’t enough to waste my money on an e-book.

As far as clues for playing encounters; it would be nice if the was a site close to me.  But as others have bemoaned there are actually very few.  I also don’t use Facebook or Twitter, and won’t even go to these sites for the clues.

While the crossword hints may not seem like a challenge, try just working off one clue.  Then when you “Google Vesperin & then poke around some FR site” you may find some lore you may have forgotten about or give you an idea for your game.

Since I run my own campaign, stealing ideas is fun.  I have never actually Forgotten Realms, but enjoy reading through the sourcebooks.

Drow have always been an evil antagonist in my campaign, never a player race, since Eclavdra first appeared.  While I prefer to use Erelhei-Cinlu over Menzoberranzan I love anything that deals with their evil machinations.

Grr cant find this one: The region in which the nation of Vesperin reside.

regions aren't specified.. its going to be something silly i'm betting.

Sure thing. It is a map of some cave in the Feywild Underdark (looks like a sort of new ''home plane'' for the two of them), from the upcoming Menzo book.

Grotto of Silver and Shadow

Awesome thanks !
Awesome thanks !

You're welcome. And awesome indeed.
Strangely, for one of the answers it wouldn't accept an apostrophe, but when I finally thought to take it out the answer then showed the apostrophe in the term.

Someone please tell me the drow exile's name! I find my lack of knowledge skill disturbing.

Demonic handmaiden of Lolth.

Drow exile who defeated the legendary beholder Many Eyes.

Drow term meaning “chosen one”.

Menzoberra the Kinless.
From what source?

[edit] Nevermind I found it several pages after the place was described as a great cavern serving as a giant spider lair known by dwarves as Araurilcaurak.

I would consider refugee a better term than exile
It's from the Forgotten Realms. The drow who -alasTongue Out- founded Menzoberranzan
For both the Week 5 and Week 6 answers with apostrophes, you have to enter them without the apostrophe for the system to take them.  It then displays them with the apostrophe just to drive you insane.  Damn drow!

Week 6 Clue (6/25)

Ancient civilization of artificers and slavers whose empire centered in modern day Raurin.

A confederation of drow settlements beneath Thay.

An imprisoned entity that sends visions to spellscarred beings across Faerûn.
