```````````````````````````````````````` This is a pretty standard UW deck; Some control, some CA, some beaters. This deck is primarily designed to plop down an Isperia and then tutor for whatever flier you might need. Moat is an all-star in this deck as a full 3/4 of the creatures are fliers. Isperia is also a great deterrent because of her large back-end.
I've tried to avoid any cards that would draw a disproportional amount of hate, like Telepathy. That is also why it doesn't run any 'broken' combos; it's by design. It can loop a Yosei or Keiga via Emeria but that's about as crazy as it gets.
There are a few changes I'd make if I had the cards, like adding a Baneslayer. I might also consider re-adding Propaganda/Ghostly Prison. They were both in the deck initially but I had taken them out because they were bugged.
While the deck may look a little creature light, it generally doesn't matter because the first creature I cast is almost always Isperia. I do feel that the one major weakness of this deck is the lack of sufficient graveyard removal. I run Relic and Stonecloaker but this deck could probably use a Tormod's or a Reito Lantern as well.
Guess what? Chicken butt.
Have you thought about Junktroller? A 0/6 blocker for 4, recycles cards you need into your library, or send that genesis/anger/eternal witness/etc away at repeatable instant speed. I've starting messing with him and it's actually worked fairly well so far.
TBH, I had Junktroller in the 1.0 version, along with Tunnel Vision and Spin (which is still in) but I was never really happy to see it. Unless I'm using Junktroller to combo I don't play it. I'd rather just play Reito in that slot.
I've never found Steel of the Godhead to be worth it. While yes, it boosts Isperia very nicely, it also makes her a removal magnet. Whispersilk Cloak at least protects her at the same time.
I cannot recommend Wispmare/Cloudchaser Kestrel or Riftwing Cloudskate enough. Tutoring for answers is awesome, and Cloudskate doubles as an enabler if necessary. You may also like Drift of Phantasms as a tutorable tutor.
Prahv, Spires of Order gives you an out to cards like Uril or Red Akroma that you might otherwise have trouble dealing with, and with as many specialized nonbasics as you're running, you might like Expedition Map to find them.
And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real. --Erin McKean, Redefining the Dictionary
Fair enough. It's never been an all star for me anyway. It's in mostly for the lifegain but I've usually never been too pleased to draw it.
You know, I'd never considered Wispmare. That's a very interesting suggestion and one that I'll probably implement. Riftwing doesn't excite me as much. What I *was* also thinking of was Galepowder Mage. My only concern there is that it usually won't make it around.
Expedition Map = Excellent. I see it all the time and always forget to add it in. Prav though, is SOOOOO mana intensive. I'm thinking that if I'm in a position where I have to resort to using it then I'm probably on my way out anyway.
