An elven scholar from the small village of Silverwood, Erith's scholarly interests were cut short when his town's militia was called upon to aid in local wars against giants by the humans. As a capable archer, Erith was sent with them, and he quickly made his way through the ranks. He was promoted to captain of a large brigade for his tactical abilties.He learned quickly on the field of war and his knowledge of history was usefull, but more usefull was his knowledge of people. He knew the humans were easily winning; their purpose for calling in their elven allies was to destabilize elven defenses for a strike after the war had been officially won. Using his connections in the human courts, he set up a the treaty with the giants in such a way as to enrage the local human confederation and they fell into a petty land war over the spoils of war while the elves tooks their defenses home and the ensuing human strike fell apart before it could even reach his home village. Since then Erith has traveled the world, realizing he could far more from people than books. He comes to Gladius because of its cultural diversity, and he fights not to win, but to learn variued styles employed in the arena. |
