Round 3, forcing a DC 24 (10 + 14 damage from MM) with only a +11 on the concentration gives a pretty good chance of stopping the first energy blast.

Pretty good chance indeed. And this is why I want to pitlord low level fights for a while, until I really remember all the rules from memory.

@dgallaty - thanks for the run. I see Erithmu's point. I'm not sure I agree with the attack on the cohort either, but that situation may change anyway with the readies in place.
Note that magic missile is one spell but x number of missiles - so would be a concentration check against each one individually.

That would be a nasty trick to pull at high levels... force 5 save or lose spells.

@Telin: Brave ... I like it. You had an easier out ... not in the tactics but easier.

Dgallaty: I'm going to ask for a rerun with the readies in my tactics. My goal was to make him try to concentrate and lose powers.
Sorry about that. I would have done exactly that if you had put in the exact goal in those words. I'll re-run it and see what happens.

Quick question about this, then. I just assumed that given the choice between two opponents in range, and no preference stated in the tatics, you would kill off the one using the more powerful attacks and more likely for you to one-shot them. Erithmu's readies aside, had Ant attacked Telryn first, he wouldn't have taken Telryn out, and both Telryn and Thiel would have been able to get in more attacks.
Am I missing something?

It happens. One forgets that wild surging actually comes with pretty hefty risks, and 10% is bound to come up every once in a while.
