Alright, I think I got everything right, but it wouldn't hurt to double check me here.
Flag Uknits October 10, 2012 7:17 PM PDT
Oh, also, if anybody feels that the amount of pitlording they have is either too much or too little, let me know and I will move it around.
Flag voxthunder October 10, 2012 11:13 PM PDT
Alright, new pairings! :D

Tactics in for Nathas and Krug. I can re-send Kinslayer's tactics if you'd like, Eluria.

Pitlording 2 fights is perfect for me. I'll be running mine on Sunday as usual.

At some point, you should get the +1 admin credit. I'll have to change the Pairings Maker program so that it's not hard-coded to Telin anymore.

Flag TelinArtho October 11, 2012 6:19 PM PDT
Dorinar's tactics have been sent.
Flag Uknits October 11, 2012 10:12 PM PDT
Tactics out for Elrin, just waiting for monster info on Jerod.

Also, I'd like to thank Dgallaty for making the pairings maker program.  That things is gloriously helpful.
Flag voxthunder October 12, 2012 2:23 AM PDT
Ah, sorry, this is the first monster fight I've pitlorded.

Jerod is fighting a medium quadrupedal magical beast.
Flag Uknits October 12, 2012 8:43 AM PDT
No problem.  I assume you've found all of the monster creation guidlines, then?  Just in case...

I'll send tactics shortly.

My pleasure. I'm happy that you were able to figure it out, especially on a week where it probably marked most characters Not Ready due to the lag time between pairings.

Flag The_Fred October 12, 2012 1:57 PM PDT
Tactics away!
Flag Eluria October 12, 2012 5:01 PM PDT
my tactics are out too!
Flag Yitzi October 14, 2012 7:27 AM PDT
I hate to do this to you at this late date, but Bernik was not readied for this week, so he shouldn't be up there.  I think Krixx will probably have to fight a monster.
Flag Uknits October 14, 2012 9:37 AM PDT
Huh.. you're right.  Sorry about that.  Eluria had mentioned not wanting more than 2 characters active in one week anyway, so unless otherwise stated, that fight can just be dropped unless Eluria wants to face a monster.
Flag Eluria October 14, 2012 10:18 AM PDT
nope, dropping fight is A-OK w/ me!
thx guys

Flag Uknits October 14, 2012 10:22 AM PDT
Ok.  Fixing the listing now.
Flag The_Fred October 14, 2012 11:47 AM PDT
Also, minor note, but Nathas isn't mine.
Flag Yitzi October 14, 2012 2:08 PM PDT
Poor Beezel.  He spends so much in expendables, and loses anyway...

Hmmm.... I had specifically gone and crossed out Vox's name to put in yours, too.  Turns out ym dislexic brain is a little off, but hopefully the mechanics of the fight are correct.

Curses! Krug's squeeze is mighty indeed.

Jerod vs Fargh the Worg is up. It's my first monster fight, but I think I got everything right. Accidentally forgot about the Worg's trip ability so I had to backtrack a bit. Let me know if anything went wrong, Uknits. I think Jerod had a great shot at winning this but got unlucky-- Fargh could only hit him on am 18, 19, or 20 while standing.

I'll get to Zegnuk vs Cries tomorrow-- it's gotten a bit late.

Laughing

Flag Uknits October 15, 2012 9:07 AM PDT
For Jerod, I should do an extra 2d6 damage with every hit because of weapon aflame.  Also, the crit should be 2d8+12 because of rage and outburst that round.  Aside from that, I was worried going into rage would kill me; I should have listened to myself on that.
Flag voxthunder October 15, 2012 9:35 AM PDT
Ok, updated the fight. Jerod got the Worg down to 26. If it weren't for the rage, I think he'd have won.
Flag Uknits October 15, 2012 10:29 AM PDT
Thanks for the fixes.

The only other thing is that I should have used wounding attack on my first attack in round 2.  You also didn;t add 2d6 damaeg for my first and last attack, nor did you fix the last atack to +6 from raging, but it probably won't be enough to make a difference.  Silly me, using my rage.

One last note; just as a note, belts of strength don't come in +2, so his equipment should be listed as gauntlets, not a belt.  Completely irrelivant, but just wanted to clarify that.

Thanks again for the fight.
Flag voxthunder October 15, 2012 1:46 PM PDT
Okay, made those changes as well. Fargh was knocked down to 6 hp in the final round!
Flag Uknits October 15, 2012 1:55 PM PDT
Thanks for all the fixes!
Flag voxthunder October 15, 2012 2:01 PM PDT
I'm pretty sure by now that I've accounted for all the Weapon Afire, but if I've missed one it probably means Jerod will win, so let me know.

As an aside, yes, Krug squeezes quite a bit. Using Rage this fight might have been a waste but I figured he needed the extra chance to hit against someone with such a good touch AC.
Flag voxthunder October 16, 2012 11:24 AM PDT
It just occurred to me, that Worg could have really used Claws of the Beast. Maybe a build based on that and buffs like Prevenom, Dissipating Touch, and offensive Prescience would have been better.

Ah, maybe not, it says the claws are a primary attack, so he wouldn't be able to use his bite with it. Still, it'd give him a full attack worth mentioning.
Flag Uknits October 16, 2012 11:31 AM PDT
With his build, though, a full attack would have been wasted.  I think unavoidable strike would have turned the battle handily.
Flag voxthunder October 16, 2012 11:37 AM PDT
Ah, that would have been good. I tried to build him not specifically for Jerod but to be generally capable (Exhalation of the Black Dragon, tattoo of skate, etc)-- but something like that would have been useful against any character since Touch AC generally doesn't scale nearly as much as regular AC. Maybe using that with Dissolving Touch or just Animal Affinity and Offensive Prescience would have been better for damage output.

ZegNuk vs Cries of the Forest is up, by the way. As usual, let me know if there are any problems.
Flag The_Fred October 16, 2012 2:38 PM PDT
Wow, that was needlessly epic! I'm glad I used Prevenom now, after all; that was far too close for comfort (though I think he would have needed a crit or two shots more).

Unfortunately, I've been smacked with a whole bunch of deadlines this week. I'm going to try and get Hunter vs Ghost finally done (sorry!) tomorrow if I can (Kaili will I think take a while longer because, well, she's doing at best 5d6 damage/round vs guys with >100 health ). I have a whole bunch of stuff to do for Thursday, however.
Flag Eluria October 16, 2012 4:58 PM PDT
Thanks for ZegNuk's run - boy has he been both unlucky and quite unsucessful - thank you for the run1
Flag voxthunder October 16, 2012 5:07 PM PDT
For what it's worth I suspect ZegNuk had a strong chance of winning, but things just didn't turn out well. A hit web or if that poison hit could have made all the difference.
Flag The_Fred October 17, 2012 1:46 AM PDT
True, though the poison was not much of a worry, actually, thanks to Autohypnosis (+10 vs DC13, so fail on a 1 or 2 only). It's just one of those things that's basically game-ending if it does hit.

A web might have screwed things up, true, but luckily he was able to get far enough away quickly enough.
Flag voxthunder October 17, 2012 9:38 AM PDT
Autohypnosis can only be used against a poison's secondary effect. So you'd definitely be safe if you made your initial save, but you still have to use fortitude against the primary damage. Cries of the Forest's high movement speed really helped him against the spiders. Those are really good summons, since they have both the Web and the Poison, even if the Poison isn't too great.
Flag The_Fred October 17, 2012 9:55 AM PDT
Ah drat, yeah, that's true. It was only the Drow poison which was really a worry, though. Spider poison would have been bad, but far from game-ending, whereas the poison arrow would not have been good at all.
Flag voxthunder October 17, 2012 10:30 AM PDT
Speaking of poison arrows, I'm glad Nathas finally overcame his losing streak. He was looking pretty sad there for a while. I'll make sure to buy up a scroll or two of False Life so he has more than 8 hp sometimes.

Flag Uknits October 17, 2012 12:27 PM PDT
Blast... forgot to mention my tattoo of Synthete.  Such is life.

Thanks for the run.
Flag The_Fred October 17, 2012 1:15 PM PDT
Yeah, that feels like a bit of a cheap win.
I'd thought it'd just be a bonus round, more or less.
