This is a separate thread fight for Kaili to fight three Vrocks (Knowledge (The Planes) +18 vs DC15 - identity of creature). If you are not myself or Dgallaty, please reserve comments for the Fights of the Week thread. The fight takes place in the Forest, and the lighting is Dim. You start in area 1. Please post starting condition and actions until detection.

Kaili starts at 5,60 with her dorje of Enlarged Crystal Shard in her hand and her supernatural ability Greater Invisibility activated. She flies at a height of just under the canopy at 30' (or 27' if she needs to account for her own height) out to 27,60, manifesting Defensive Precognition (1pp + 3pp for a +2 bonus) and Touchsight (5pp) along the way. Once there, she flies an "L" pattern from 27,60 to 28,43 to 9,39, then reverses back through the same points, repeating until she sees or hears the Vrocks or any other creature, or detects them through her Touchsight. She immediately stops moving once an opponent is found.

Sorry for the delay - I've had the map and roller open for days and just never managed to get to the point where Kaili can do something...Round 4 Kaili starts to fly west, and sees an army of Vrocks (there appear to be over a score!) flying low above the swamp!  Kaili has taken a move, so she has a standard action remaining (actually you could probably move somewhere slightly different after spotting them mid-move, too).

That's 65ft but I'm assuming you can make it because Kaili saw the Vrocks a lot earlier and so could feasibly have changed direction before ever reaching (19,41).A side note: I think that, since the canopy is at 30ft height, you have to fly at 25ft (since the ground is 0ft elevation... I guess it's more naming than anything).The Vrocks turn towards Kaili as if hearing something, and fly up towards her (they're at 20ft, their maximum altitude since they're Large). As they go, they pull out small vials and down the contents. Almost at once, their multiple outlines (each one is Mirror Imaged) begin to blur and waver.

Kaili manifests Brain Lock on vrock #3 (the one at 27,28) augmented 4 additional PP to affect outsiders. If it succeeds, she manifests Solicit Psicrystal as a swift action to let her psicrystal maintain concentration on the power. Regardless of the success or failure of Brain Lock, Kaili flies to 10,28.

Kaili manifests Brain Lock [3+4=7pp] Brain Lock succeeds, but doesn't seem to do anything. I'm presuming you don't still want to manifest Solicit Psicrystal, but if you do, let me know.The Vrocks fly closer, casting their gazes around [pinpoint impossible]. One pauses to listen as the others fly closer.  [V2 is actually one further north, underneath you at 15ft elevation). I'm not sure if you shouldn't have a -10 to MS or something for moving at full speed, but not running... seems to be conspicuously absent.Also, I meant to mention before, shouldn't Kaili's ML be 7 (Psion 5 + Thrallherd 2/3)?

I noticed that you wrote [3pp] for Brain Lock. Did you add in the augmented 4 pp that I mentioned in my post? I made sure to do that so that Brain Lock would affect outsiders. If you did that, and it still didn't work, then I definitely don't want to manifest Solicit Psicrystal.The missing penalty to move silently is definitely strange, but without any official ruling in the rules forum, I've been using RAW.You're correct that Kaili's ML should be 7. My mistake. If you want to write up a prison report, go ahead. Kaili manifests Inflict Pain against vrock #2. If vrock #3 at 12,28 is actually there, Kaili augments it 2 additional pp to raise the DC to 23 and affect both vrocks #2 and #3. Either way, she flies to 7,17 afterwards.

One more thing I thought of. Kaili currently has Touchsight manifested, which means that she ignores invisibility, darkness, and concealment within 60' of her.

Oops. OK yeah, it was 7pp, but no, it still doesn't work. It's almost like the guys is protected somehow...  Also, yeah, Touchsight... When the Vrocks get within 60ft of Kaili, she is able to "feel" their real forms, without any of the wavering and shifting or mirrori imaging they have protected themselves with. Round 6 Kaili manifests Inflict Pain [3+2pp, ends 13] against Vrocks 2 and 3, delivering a terrible stab of mental pain. Vrock 1 flies closer, meandering his way with some difficulty through the trees. Enraged, Vrock 2 flies towards the sound of tiny wings. As he goes, a cloud of spores erupts from his body, their vicious needles catching the invisible pixie. Meanwhile, Vrock 3 lets out a tremendous screech of anger and pain which leaves Kaili reeling. I feel as though Kaili's DR should protect her from the spores, but it appears to be untyped damage. I might have to get a ruling on this.Meanwhile, you're stunned by Stunning Screech. Round 7 Stunned, Kaili falls to the ground, taking 0 damage (6, less 10 for DR). The Vrocks, hearing her hit the ground, drop to the ground around her and begin chopping at the grass with their cold iron greatswords. Kaili is hit once for 14 damage. (Vrock 3 flies above her, unable to get close enough to attack) Kaili is on 7/21. Also, you can see I did make a prison post; not really necessary since you know, but just makes sure we don't forget.
