OK, wow. Ouch. I can't believe the scumbag delightful little goblin actually made me chase him until Enlarge Person ran out! I think, in Rounds 27 onwards, E could have Withdrawn due to his greater speed, but I had been thinking more about flying combat where he was faster than me. That will be something for me to add to my tactics next time. I think I just need more range, tbh.

Also, in the rewards, I think E used a stone of Skate, too. Thanks again - I don't envy you having to run that!

Thanks for the edits!!!! What a thrilling fight- uber close! Thanks!

FYI, you seem to be an awesome pitlord; lots of very clear notation, adhere to both actual and intended tactics, make good judgment calls, remember and implement all sorts of obscure and hard to remember rules, etc-- really well done!  So glad you found coco and joined up!

Ok, I guess I need some help interpreting the sewer map. It's my first time running it with a flying character.

Aside from the walls around the edge of the map, where are there any other walls? If there are walls surrounding the water, how does any character ever get in the water?

Essentially, what I want to determine is this: can Cazadora fly over the pools of water, or does she have to fly over solid ground the whole time due to walls, obstructions, something else I'm not understanding? I haven't been able to work out why she would need more than double movement to go around the grate.

If no one gets a chance to help you out by tonight - I'll see if I can throw together some pointers on it (don't have access to the mapper on this machine). Basically, most of the sewer is two squares wide except in the starting areas and the center pool. Pretty much all of the rest is wall.

Interesting. I've been misinterpreting the map all along, both running it and playing a fighter on it. I will completely re-run the fight, because that pretty much changes everything.

I'm curious, though. If there are walls around the water, how are large creatures "always affected by the water", as the map notes say?

Down most of the hallways - half of the hallway is 1-foot deep of water and is considered difficult terrain. Since large creatures take up both squares of the hall - they are always moving through difficult terrain.

The dark blue areas aren't pools of water, they are the walls of the sewer (hence the thick grey border representing the actual wall, and the fact that pipes go through them) and are completely impassible.

Ever want to try your hand at optimizing, but don't like excessive splatbook use?

Oh, yes, I'd forgotten about that. The fight summary has been updated to reflect the use of the skate powerstone.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun pitlording the Xiv vs E fight, it just took a bit of time to get used to quickly using the map tool and the dice roller. You'll notice I made a few mistakes along the way. Flying battles can be a bit tricky, especially in a relatively high-ceilinged place like the Arena.

Ah, there it is. Now that I'm looking at the map more carefully, I see the "fuzzed out" squares, which must be the "murky" squares in the hallways. I always thought it was an artifact of the map image itself (the JPG format often blurs image edges).

Thanks for the clarifications, and sorry that I messed up on this. I should be able to get the fight re-run completed today.

Erith vs Ellia is up. It went pretty quickly but as always, if I did miss something, let me know.

How on Earth did I miss that wand of MM?  I feel like an idiot for missing that.
