Surging euphoria would be game changing, if Kyra had it. As a level 4 wilder ability, Kyra doesn't get it.

Hi Yitzi- thanks for the run! that was awesome; very close!
quick qs re: very minor points normally, which all add up quite a bit potentially 1. CoPS is a free action, so should have renewed in Rd 11; this would mean more Str damage in rds 11-21 as well, particularly rounds 11 and 12, which would be fight altering
Even if it's a free action, that doesn't mean you can do it in grapple.
sure it does - it's free! it's like talking; why couldn't you do a free action in a grapple? (sorry about surging euphoria, my bad! -- and super close fight, very exciting; thank you both for a great run!)

Wow, Arlo vs Jaob was close! Especially given that nasty poison arrow - despite cover and concealment (I think I should have been able to see Arlo casting RE a previous discussion on casting whilst hidden, but True Strike is V only IIRC and anyway it doesn't really matter).
Grannick vs Kaleisa meanwhile was... painful. Expansion kind of threw a spanner in the works as far as disarming went, but to be honest there wasn't much I could have done if that dorje was allowed to stay. Grannick, I'll get you yet!
Thanks for the runs Uknits!

You could only see the casting if he was casting at you. Since he was not, and especially without any somantic components, there was nothing to see. I did expect you to hear it, but a natural 1....

sure it does - it's free! it's like talking; why couldn't you do a free action in a grapple?
I seem to remember a previous discussion that implied the only significant actions you can take in a grapple are those listed (or equivalent, such as manifesting instead of casting).

To argue that you can manifest, or cast a somatic spell in a grapple, but not perform free actions, seems strange to me, but you are correct that "free action" is not listed as something you can do within a grapple. Of course, "breathe" isn't listed, either, nor is talk, nor is "drop something", or other examples of free action, and you can do that... But you are the pitlord and I am not going to gripe, I'm just surprised not to be able to renew a free action while in Grapple.

If you can prove that it's possible to drop something in a grapple, then that will mean that my understanding was wrong and the fight should be corrected, and I will do so.

Talking isn't a mechanically significant action like renewing an ability or dropping something.
