Kyra placed yet another book back. The search for relics and knowledge of the warminds was going poorly; the great libraries of Gladius were simply too large for one to search this way. The local librian approached her, a small grig.
"Looking up how to bludgeon somebody with a sword? You gladiators need to figure out that this is a place of knowledge and refinement. Now, the Knight of the Talaric...."

The bigger they are, huh? Hopefully big to a Grig...
Kyra glances up at the grig and cracks a warm, friendly smile at the small creature. "You are wise, my friend - and correct in your assessment. I came here in search of the Talaric texts, but your vast library is overwhelming to me. A knight of the talaric would be most helpful; I would be honored indeed to meet so revered a warrior."
The noble swordwoman turns fully towards the grig and bows respectfully, clearly hoping that the librarian can offer her some guidance on her quest.

"You don't stand a chance. His Storm Giant parents raised him like a traditional giant, his powers in weapons unmatched. If you want a thrashing, then head to abandoned monastary (there seem to be alot of those in Gladius) outside the eastern gate."
The grig huffs off, trying to lift a particularly large tome onto a high shelf.

"Thank you, my friend," says Kyra calmly, as she helps the little grig with the tome. Bowing reverently, she respectfully thanks the librarian and departs for the eastern gate of Gladius, pondering the words of the grig.
Storm giant parents... that sounds imposing; will this knight of the talaric accept me as squire based on faith, or will he want to see my skill with the blade. I have learned much, in Gladius... but a Storm giant kin may be beyond my skill. However, the tomes of the order speak of potent abilities, drawn from the strength of the soul; perhaps I will be able to unlock those through prayer and meditation, and expand my size to make this a fairer fight.... We shall see.
Kyra departs for the eastern gate, and seeks out the monastery. Not knowing what to expect, the Apostle holds her wand of divine favor and has her hand on her new crystalline greatsword, pulsing with the mystic energy she had had woven into the exotic material.

Kyra shoves against the ancient doors, nearly removing them from their hinges. As she enters, she is met by a deep, booming voice. "Who intrudes the threshhold of the Sublime Blade? Those whose mettle is untested are not to defile this place." Out of the sahdows rides a small man, no more than 3 feet high, but Kyra could not help but respect the small figure, clad in full plate mail and astride a 4 legged beast. He holds a shield and a potion, which he drinks and throws to the ground dramatically. "En Guarde"Map is temple, but instead of lava it is water and the central statues is a podium holding a single tome.

Impressed at the space, and enthralled at the site of the tome, Kyra takes note of the mounted knight, and bows, saluting him with a flourish of her blade.
"Noble warrior; my name is Kyra - I am an Apostle of the Sublime Blade; I have come to seek training, from a knight of the talaric. I would be honored if you would allow me to squire from you and learn to unwrap the secrets of the Sublime Blade."
Suspecting that the armored knight meant to test her, at the very least, Kyra prepared herself for his assault.
Force Screen for 1pp / 4AC, move South/forward 10ft and East 5ft to be on the stairs.

"Then show honour and bare your steel!" cries the knight, drinking another potion and again shattering the glass bottle across the floor. He remains in place.

Kyra meditates once more, drawing again on her inner strength, and bolsters her energy.
Vigor 1pp + 2 WildSurge, advance single move south towards the water (keep podium between us for now; he can't charge down stairs/difficult terrain, correct?)

The knight raises his empty hand, calling out in some ancient language. A ray of light decends upon him, and he draws a javelin. Corect, he cannot charge difficult terrain.

Kyra marvels at this small knight and his many talents. Is that strange beam of light a secret of the talaric order?
Smiling at the challenge, Kyra taps herself with her wand and feels strengthened by her faith; she drops the wand and draws her dorje, prepared to trade blows both at range and in close quarters.
Use wand of divine favor, drop it, draw dorje of crystal shard (so holding dorje and greatsword {in 1h})
