This is a separate thread fight between Jerod and an unknown monster described as winged, large and legless. If you are not myself or Uknits, please do not post here for the duration and reserve comments for the Fights of the Week thread. JerodJerod starts in the south west area on the plains. Equipment in hands. You win initiative and see the creature in the south east box.

Jerod will start in front corner with his potion of protection from good in hand and use it, then draw flame lash.
Also, does the foe have weapons (or anything in hand for that matter)?

Jerod sees the other creature some 420ft away, "standing" there, though without legs... It is not at all dissimilar from a naga, though with wings and a full human-like torso, but certainly not human. The creature holds a potion and a scroll to start with. Jerod drinks his potion and then with a flick of his fingers a lash of pure flame materializes. The creature drinks down the potion and looks at Jerod coolly. Map

The creature smiles, again with a calmness. However, now that Jerod is closer, he can see its tail seems to be undulating a mile a minute, as if the calmness of the face is offset by the chaos of the tail. The creature says some arcane words and disappears from Jerod's sight. Map

Jerod frowns, dropping his lash and drawing his flail while approaching, adopting his defensive trick. His uncanny reflexes had saved him before, and he was hoping they would again.

Jerod adopts a defensive stance with his flail as he closes in some. He detects no sign of the creature.
Do you want to continue this way until you detect it in some way or just run round by round?

Jerod advances cautiously, and although he hears no casting, he does hear the creature take off into the air. He definitely didn't get a good read on it - but it is probably still another 100ft away and might be as much as 30ft in the air - though that's just a guess.
Can't hit a DC0 check for spellcasting, but when something tries to move quietly - BAM! Nice 20 on a listen check
