Julgi's old hunting friend has come for a "visit" to the Gladius. He's carrying some of the more spiritual of Julgi's tools. Julgi goes to meet his contact.
String of Knots
This common string is tied into a small circular bracelet meant to be worn on the wrist. It has three lightly knotted strings tied to it crafted from various plants and organs. When a knot is loosed (a standard action), the equivalent of a spell takes effect on the wearer of the main string.
Tie of True Strike(x1) and Ties of Expeditious Retreat(x2)
Prices: 50gp + 50gp + 50gp = 150gp.
Julgi uses 1 week of Gather Information to circumvent this item's credit cost.

For whenever you have the chance, here is the rule.
Once a week, as a Free Activity, you can buy one item that would normally cost credits, up to the allowed gold piece value. Alternatively, you can gain two such items as a Full Activity

I would consider a set of items for which credits are paid together (e.g. a bunch of arrows) to be a single item for that purpose.

Grannick Mindbender has been eyeing the psicrystals of other fighters, and now wants one of his own. He seeks a master in the psionic feats to unlearn some of of his old training and replace it with the knowledge of psicrystal care and feeding. I want to spend credits for Grannick to retrain the feat Narrow Mind to Psicrystal Affinity. He has not used Narrow Mind in any fights since his creation.

Even though you've never used it, as an ECL4 character, this is supposed to cost 5c; however, you just hit ECL4, and it's your first character - I'm willing to say this is approved for free.

Not true:
Free Changes: This applies to really minor changes, or changes that need to be done because of a new/altered rule in the Rules of Gladius. The same is true if you haven't made use of the item in question or if your character is still ECL 3. There might be other instances where you can change the item for free. Any other change requires credits.
There are 4 distinct cases in which the change is free:
1. ECL3, even if it's been used already
2. If it has never been used, even at higher ECL.
3. Really minor changes
4. Changes necessitated by a change in the rules.
A fifth, which is not stated but is established by precedence, is when the change is necessitated by the current state being illegal, even if it's not due to a change in the rules.
