Thanks for the run dgallaty. I just realized the wording of Combat Sprint actually allows a character to move 6 squares while slowed, so I'm going to remember that for the next team with a ranged slow attack
That's not quite how I interpreted it. Here's the wording for Combat Sprint:
You move your speed + 4. You gain a +4 bonus to all defenses against any opportunity attack you provoke with this movement.
And then there's this wording for the Slowed condition (underlined part is the relevant part):
Your speed becomes 2. This speed applies to all your movement modes, but it does not apply to teleportation or to a pull, a push, or a slide. You can’t increase your speed above 2, and your speed doesn’t increase if it was lower than 2.

I can see how that would apply to things like Beast's daily powers, where there is a bonus applied to his speed; i.e. You gain a +2 power bonus to speed. That would fit under "You can't increase your speed above 2." However, the wording of Combat Sprint is completely different (much like Mighty Sprint.) It does not increase your speed at all, but instead allows you to move 4 squares more than your speed. Then again, I don't see a better way to word the power if they intended it to be useless when slowed, so I can't put forward any better argument than this. Now that I say this, all they had to do was add "You gain no bonus to squares moved if you are slowed."

I see what you're saying now. It looks like the D&D Rules thread agrees with that interpretation as well. I just learned something new about the usefulness of Combat Sprint...

I was all prepared to disagree with this, but I was a good boy and looked up my resources first... and it looks like I was going to be wrong.
Slowed Page 277: Add the following bullet to the slowed condition. This revision adds clarity to the slowed condition. ✦ You cannot benefit from bonuses to speed, although you can use powers and take actions, such as the run action, that allow you to move farther than your speed.
So it is pretty clear to me now - even if I initially disagreed with it.

Yeah, those movement-impairing effects are awful for melee teams like Elven Bouncers.
Thanks for the run!

Thanks for the run! I had to spend both dailies to make sure, though, so not an easy thing to do every time vs a melee team. I've tried to keep this team balanced at range and close though.
Sorry Telin, I'll make sure to add that damage and double check the other powers! Damn copy+paste is so prone to mistakes like this...

Totally new to me too! Just noticed it after the fact here! Thanks for being more resourceful than I - I was just prepared to debate it haha. That's part of the fun of this game, I think.

Hey, not sure if I should post in the tavern or not, but here seemed appropriate enough. I finaly ran out of excuses to not make a 4E team, so here it is. community.wizards.com/coco/wiki/Uknits/H...I would love it if you people could make sure I did that right. My 4E knowledge is VERY rusty. Also, if I could request that my first fight be seperate thread so I can re-acclimate myself to 4E rules, that would help alot. Thanks. Sorry that I'm so slow on the rules; it has been years since I played 4E and I'm trying to give it another go.

Welcome aboard to the road to two cities I took a quick look and didn't see anything off right off hand (though I think that might be the first character to actually increase an 8 over boosting another attribute to a 13 or 12). I can't guarantee a separate thread fight, but low level fights tend to be simple affairs anyway (and highly swingy depending on whether action points and dailies are flying about).
