So, it looks like there haven't been new players for a while, so I didn't find a template introduction thread. Anyway, I'm ManoftheSea, I like DnD, and I like putting descriptions to crunchy fights. I would like to introduce my Elf, Kelva, for your review. I hope to have a lot of fun with you, and write things that some of you find interesting.

Hey, welcome aboad! Your character looks pretty cool, actually. One thing I would say from just glancing over is that I believe your arcane scrolls will suffer ASF so it might be worth noting that somewhere. Otherwise, looks good!

Thanks TF. I was thinking that myself an hour ago, so I know I must be among great minds. I seem to be following in the footsteps of Quibbuk (sp?) to some extent. How valid is bringing an army to the fight?

You should probably also mark the modifier for each ability after the ability (inside the parentheses, where you put a dash.)
As for bringing an army to the fight: If it follows the ally rules, go ahead.

Check out the rules on allies. They're spread across two pages, but the gist is that you can have total ally CR of your own ECL -2, IIRC. I don't think you are allowed animated undead until ECL 5, but you could only cast Animate Dead from a scroll before then, anyway.

Thank you Yitzi. I've updated that section, as well as found a template character sheet that uses hrules, sblocks, and color to be more legible. I'll convert. Also, a few modifications due to invalid equipment.
The_Fred, I found said ally rules. Could you confirm for me that, if a monster has a CR, I don't need to worry about its ECL? Not that I fully understand ECL... Like, a Light Horse is 3 HD, but CR 1. A 1 HD skeleton is CR 1/3.
As for a scroll of Animate Dead, it's 375 gp and within my ECL + 2. It'd give me 10 HD of undead, but I'd only be able to use a 3 HD skeleton (CR 1) in each fight (my ECL -2). Also, it's expensive as a consumable... Do I have the numbers right? (Besides needing the bodies, which is the hard part)
Death rarely needs help in doing his job

Other way around: If it has an ECL, you don't have to worry about its CR.
Not that I fully understand ECL... Like, a Light Horse is 3 HD, but CR 1. A 1 HD skeleton is CR 1/3.
If a creature has a level adjustment (i.e. it's not just a dash in that slot), then its ECL is equal to HD (including class levels) plus bloodline levels, plus the level adjustment. If a creature does not have a level adjustment (the level adjustment is marked as -), then it has no ECL, and you use the rule for creatures without ECL.
Almost. Animate Dead has a material component, so the scroll costs 375 plus 25 times the number of HD (so 525 if you want to animate a full 10HD of undead.)
For getting the bodies, you'll probably need a quest (maybe a miniquest).

The ECL is used if the monster description has a level adjustment listed. For example, a giant eagle has an LA of 2 listed, so it would be a level 6 ally despite its CR of 3. Most mosters, though, do not have LA's, so you just use their CR. Thus, a 3 HD skeleton is an acceptable ally for an ECL 3 character because it has a CR of only 1.
As for animate dead, I believe you have misread the rules on expendables. You may have scrolls and powerstones of up to your Caster Level +2, but you may still only have a maximum of your ECL. So a Wizard 1/Fighter 5 could only have wizard scrolls of up to CL 3, but a pure wizard is still limited by his ECL as his maximum. Animate dead, though, is permanent. Once you get the body and pay to cast animate dead on it, you may bring that one undead into as many fights as you wish.
The only other note is that to use a skill package (such as making money with craft), you need at leasty 5 ranks in that skill.
That said, the character looks pretty good. There are alot of rules and confusion on the character sheet, so I congratulate you on having gotten them accuratley.

Thank you, Yitzi. High five on educating me on CR/ECL. Also, quite right on the Animate Dead Onyx requirement.
Thank you, Uknits. I did miss the ECL cap, and was only applying the CL+2 cap. I have also edited my sheet to no longer be whittling tiny wooden spoons and figurines (craft - kitsch) because of the "5 ranks required". It saddens me that I can make use of no skill package for free activity, but I'll be buying/crafting equipment soon.
Uknits, as for "pay to cast animate dead", you just mean the material component? I can't have an NPC spellcaster cast for me, right? Or, more importantly, others can't get access to this ability without casting it themselves, right? A rogue might UMD animate dead, but in general other's allies will be the live variety?
Oh, haha, I note The_Fred has "Jaob", another animating cleric. I will look for his fights to learn from him as well as Qwibbuk.

I was indeed refering to the opal cost on animate dead. Also, yes, you do have to cast it, though using UMD is actually rather intruiging.... a rogue with undead allies to flank for sneak attacks.....
