The ashes fall and Krug reaches out, grasping them. For hundreds of years these totems grew under the protection of Trondalis the Immortal. Generations of orcs lived and died and still these totems grew. In time they themselves became dieties, worshipped by the orcs. Towering over the plains, they ruled with the ancient justice that only gods know. As they grew, Trondalis was their keeper, tending to them and advising the tribes.

Perhaps things could have gone on like this forever-- but even the gods themselves are not beyond deceit. Trondalis now fashions himself the god of the orcs. The rest happens quickly: drawing his power from their faith, he burns and pillages his way across the eastern plains. One by one, Trondalis destroys the god-totems, seizing more strength and more followers. His maniacal religion gains strength until he threatened to asborb the whole subcontinent.

When all hope seems lost, the god-totems speak as has not happened for generations. A call to arms goes out, and the remaining god-totem tribes pool their strength. That dusk, grand battle is joined between the god-totem worshippers and the followers of Trondalis. The earth shudders as orc kills orc and the plains burn with the divine torment. At least, the dust clears, and in the twilight of battle Trondalis lies dead, rent from head to toe by an orcish axe. Thousands of orcs lay dead that the orc race might live free from the oppression of the false prophet.

Krug sets out across the battlefield amongst the dead and dying, dirt muddied with blood, searching through the shadow of war for someone he lost so long ago.

Krug has hit ECL 6 and taken the Leadership feat, so he'll want to miniquest to obtain a cohort. If anyone would be willing to questlord this in the next few weeks let me know.
