Ok, so power in question: time hopyou lose if you are out of the arena for 10 rounds in total, do the rounds out of time count? As in, he is shifted 10 rounds into the furture, do those count against the total of 10 allowed out of the ring? Just an entertaining technicality...

Probably should be treated the same as Maze.
It's not likely to be a useful strategy anyway; at a DC 15 WIS check each round, most characters will have a strong chance of returning before the time is up.
Ever want to try your hand at optimizing, but don't like excessive splatbook use? Come visit the Core Coliseum today, and give it a try.

How is maze treated?
Also, even if they warp back after 2-3 rounds, you just have to hit them with it again. Addmitedly less of a free win, but a semi save or die with no easy way to protect against it.

Aside from the Will save or Power Resistance, like most save-or-dies.

Ectoplasmic Cocoon isn't on the standard list but is a bit more straightforard as save/die powers go. I think that sort of thing is a bit more the domain of magic than powers though. Psionics seem a bit better designed overall and try to avoid that kind of effect at least on the lower level spells.
