I'm looking for a questlord who'd be interested in running a miniquest for Krug the Squeezer (ECL 4) sometime in september. The quest is going to be a spiritual (and physical) challenge for Krug as he turns away from his lawful training and becomes an ex-monk.

I'll be spending credits to change his alignment as well, but I've really grown to like him and will be using this as an opportunity for RP and to develop him a bit.

-----

Krug is running. The wind whistles through his hair and his backpack bounces against his back as he deftly jumps over rocks and navigates the scraggly terran of the orcish badlands. Every day Krug runs like this, to feel the wind and sun on his face and to feel free. Today, though, Krug runs out of neccessity. Ahead of him, a black trail stains the grey-blue backdrop of the sky. Smoke, and lots of it. Smoke, coming from the camp-- coming from home.

Krug grunts and wakes up. Years have passed since that day. Sometimes he wakes up while he's running. Sometimes when he's talking with his brother in the burned-out village, or when he's tracking the humans. Sometimes he doesn't wake up until they've stabbed him unconscious, or he wakes up in Thukgu's hut.

That Krug, though, is a past self, not who he is now. That orc ran free across the plains and lived wild, as a member of a traveling clan. Now he is more, and less. More an orc, as his pursuit to master his own body led him to reach the highest potential of orcishness, and less an orc, as in doing so he drove his mind and body into a discipline and narrowness outside the orc experience. Master Thukgu was only half-orc; he inherently had more discipline than Krug, but Krug pressed on nonetheless.

It is only by the unlikeliest of chances that Duke Greyshield was in Gladius last week. Krug knew the face right away, having seen it once on the day he left his clan to hunt the raiders. It didn't take much asking around to know what the Duke's business was-- and that he'd be back.

Today Greyshield returns to Gladius. Today Krug gets the first bloody vengeance for the destruction of his family dwellings. Oh, no-one was killed but the armed sentries, but the past still linger in Krug. The sadness he still feels that all they had built was torn away so quickly comes rushing back. And the anger. He strives to control it, as Master Thukgu taught him, but it seethes and burns with in him. He concentrates and meditates and soon he is calm again-- on the surface, at least.

Krug creeps along the alleyway, torn between fury and discipline, seeking vengeance above all else.

I'll volunteer to be your questlord for this, if it can wait until the 19th-20th pairings. I can have Duke Greyshield in fighting condition by then... Wink

Thanks! That sounds fine to me.

Feel free to make Greyshield whatever kind of guy you want. If you have to roll on the monster table, and Krug is up against like 1d3 dire camels or something don't make Greyshield a camel though. Whatever Krug's up against can be his guards and the battle with Greyshield can be RPed.
