Okay, so the next couple of weeks for me will be interesting in such a good way because, well, I won't be at work.
This does mean that my work at the CoCo from Saturday the 10th through Sunday the 17th will be sporadic. I'm committing to running pairings as per usual, but I will not be running fights that week. That said, I'd like to also not have to run any fights this week since, after Friday, my time online will be very limited. If there's nothing to be done about it - fine - but that's my goal.
After the vacation though, I'm hoping to get some things rolling here.

The Core Coliseum needs a new timeslot. I was originally thinking that even with D&D encounters on Wednesday night, it wouldn't end up being a problem for me, but that - combined with spotty connection at home for the near future - I just can't count on getting them done then.
So - with that in mind, I have selected three good time slots for me. I am willing to listen to other suggestions, but bear in mind I'm the one who has to live with doing the pairings at that time, so I'd need a real good reason to do it at another suggested time.
So without further ado:
Sometime between yesterday and today, the Core Coliseum hit 5000 posts since becoming a group. A rather useless number of course, but a milestone none-the-less. It pales to the 5000 fights since the CoCo was first created, and it really doesn't tell the story that the CoCo is growing and growing well. Overall, our activity seems to be increasing and that is good for this little community.
But that said - its not enough. If you've asked yourself what you can do to help - just think about the suggestions that have been laid out before.
Add a line about the CoCo in your signature. Make...
Haven't posted to the blog in a while but that's mainly because things have been going smoothly lately and we haven't had any notable things to bring up lately. That of course is no excuse, so here's a blog despite that fact.
This week, the Core Coliseum will hit its 200th fight since moving to group format. Anyone want to hazard a guess on how many fights the CoCo has run since its inception in 2003?
How about this - anyone who cares to make an educated guess, can feel free to do so and send me the answer via PM. Whoever is the closest to my own numbers will be awarded 5 credits!...
In terms of growth, over the last week the CoCo has been in a bit of a holding pattern. I'm not sure why exactly - maybe we just aren't as noticeable as we were for the past few months, maybe all of the people who were drawn to us have all clicked on the links to us.
Maybe we're just in a lull. I've been spoiled with the 2-3 persons joining the group every day for the past 4 months that maybe having it slow down is just natural. Sure, I'd like to see the group exceed the number of people in Real Adventures, but really I would just like to see more active people.
Congratulations to...
This is just a quick reminder to everyone that when you want a character or team added to the roster of their respective city - you need to send me a PM. I don't watch the progress of people's wiki pages (well - not all of the time anyway) and as we grow, the speed of changes increases. As a result - if you don't send me a PM, you run the risk of me not noticing your character soon enough to add him/her/them to the roster.
I'm a nice guy, I don't bite - so just make sure you send those PMs in. This is just to get them on the roster. After that - the character or team will be paired...
That's right - you saw it here first! Check out the 2nd post of the Blackmarket of Sagaris for the precise costs associated with the races, classes, feats and powers from the PHB 3.
Nothing else to post today - but then again - that's some pretty big news.

As of April 1st, we're aiming to allow new teams with material from the Player's Handbook 3! Check out the discussion about it here and speak up with your positions on the new material.
This is a great time to be involved with the CoCo as a pitlord as it will allow you to use the latest races and classes in the arena format and see first-hand how they play and work.
PHB3 material becomes available for general use in July, so even if you don't have the credits by then, you'll be able to use them at that point.
The CoCo is thriving - thanks to everyone for all the help in making it the...
Congratulations to the Core Coliseum for reaching such a nice membership number. Can we continue to grow? Can we surpass the only other larger PbP group in the community (Real Adventures)? Only time will tell, but I would wager that we will manage it.
Great to see some of the new members already posting teams for Sagaris. Remember - it is a lot more fun to play than to watch.
If there's any questions holding you back - make sure you send them along to me or post them in the forums. You can't get them answered if you don't ask!
Welcome aboard everyone!
As of today, the Core Coliseum is allowing new players to reference one (and only one) member as the person who convinced him or her to join the CoCo.When the new player has activated at least one team or character for at least one week - the member who referred them to us earns one credit! In addition, if the new player joins and is active for at least 10 weeks1, the referral member gains another credit! This Bonanza is meant as a means to try to boost our numbers and swell our ranks. If I spy measures that are designed to take advantage of this system - I will unfortunately be required...
