The oldest D&D setting, Blackmoor, even predates D&D itself.  It first appeared in Supplement II, and later in the DA series (for BECMI). Has anyone ran games in Blackmoor using the classic D&D rules?

I set up a group for Blackmoor here: community.wizards.com/blackmoor

Feel free to check it out!

Not exactly a Blackmoor campaign, but I did play DA3 City of the Gods back in one of my first campaigns.

Wow, that is close enough. Such a legendary adveture location, where even Gary Gygax and Rob Kuntz ventured as players. Did you use time travellers from the Known World?

I always thought that M.A.R. Barker's Tékumel: The World of the Petal Throne predated everything related to D&D? Wink

The group I started with waaaaay back when ran through Temple of the Frog which is in the blackmoor supplement II.  One of our party destroyed an egg and all the frogs swarmed us.  We had suffered a TPK and had to roll up new characters all over again. Laughing

Unfortunately, I've never had the chance to adventure in Blackmoor. I did pick up a cherished copy of DA3 City of the Gods and would love to someday run it for a group.

Just picked up the 3E (Zeitgeist games) and 4E (Code Monkey Publishing) versions of the Blackmoor campaign books.  Also got the Player's Guide to Blackmoor for 3E.  I think it would be fun to convert the old DA1-4 modules into 3E for a campaign.
