Second is the sling.  Now from the Players handbook, it says it can either shoot rocks or metal pellets.  I am wondering if the metal pellets give an advantage over rocks, such as accuracy or more damage.  If not, then why buy the pellets in the first place?  Only reason I'm asking is because I plan to use the sling as a backup range weapon.

New Magic Missile Optimization Challenge Challenge - Optimize Magic Missile Damage for a Level 20 character.

(Use LFR rules restrictions.)

What I have so far . . .

MM does 3 + INT MODIFIER damage, as an effect, at Paragon Tier.

18 Int + 2 Racial + 5 Level Bump = 25 Int (+7 bonus)

Staff of Missile Mastery +4 = (+8 damage)

Tactician's Platemail +4 = (+1 damage)

TOTAL: 19 damage

{any other ways to get this higher?}

As rider effects, I have:

Off-Hand Wand of Missile Mastery +1 (push 1)

Quickbeam Staff (push +1)

Gauntlets of the Ram (push +1)

Rushing Cleats (push +1 with melee)

Horned Helm (+1d6 on charge)

Shadar-Kai with Repear's Touch (to make MM a melee basic, also useful for OA attacks)

Again, other rider effects are welcome!

The Monster Arena: A New Offering from the Core Coliseum The Core Coliseum opens up a new set of doors starting this coming Thursday. In addition to the existing arena for PC vs PC fights (2 on 2), the Core Coliseum will start hosting PC vs Monster fights (2 on many).

As per the tradition of the Core Coliseum, these fights will be difficult and you'll have to brave a series of four of them in a given league in order to both level up and to gain an extended rest.

The Core Coliseum allows resources from the PHB1-3, DMG and Monster Manual to create your teams of two characters.

For more information, please visit the Core Coliseum group.

If you are interested in checking out the Monster Arena, the Quickstart Guide would be a great place to start.

Alternatively, if you've ever been curious about the Coliseum, today is just a good day to check it out as any other.

The CoCo also offers fights for 3.5e play.

Send any questions to me via PM or post in the CoCo's tavern

Hope to see some new faces!
