About Me

About Me: I work as a professional specialist (computer modeling and simulations) but in managerial-type positions and tend to move every two years or so. I am currently attending graduate school for the second time. (Guess I didn't learn enough the first time!) It seems to suit my functional-eclectic personality. :)

Movies: Sci-Fi and Fantasy (hmmm, unusual that...), especially:
- Gattica
- The Last Starfighter
- Enemy Mine
- Bane of the Dragon God
- Conan the Barbarian
- The Princess Bride (yeah, I'll admit it's a favorite!)
- The Gamers: Dorkness Rising (another guilty pleasure)
And realistic historical (fiction) movies such as:
- Gettysburg
- A Bridge Too Far
- Band of Brothers series
(I know the last is technically TV series, but it fits better here.)

TV Shows: By and large:
- Battlestar Galactica series
(whoda thunk Starbuck as a female fighter jock?).
I'll also watch:
- NCIS
- CSI (Las Vegas)
- MythBusters
Want to purchase the Rome miniseries at some point...

Books, Comics and Graphic Novels: Ultimate Favorite - The Routledge four volume The Thousand Nights and One Night version of Arabian Nights.
Second Favorite - Le Morte de Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory
Also like the 1980s editions of Robert Jordan's work on Robert E. Howard's Conan saga.

Music: Windham Hill record label, especially Will Ackerman and Phil Aaberg.
Also like jazz (Acousitc Alchemy is a personal favorite), rock (Aerosmith to ZZ Top), classical (technically baroque like Bach and Handel and true classical such as Mozart). In short, almost everything except unintelligible rap...

Hobbies: Too busy with life most times, but like playing D&D (of course), mountain hiking, and spending time with my family.

Likes: Genuine people of all types. Working/Talking/Playing with small groups to get to know people on a personal level. Searching for a true "out-of-the-box" solution and making it acceptable to the traditional crowd.

Dislikes: Being instantly stereotyped, categoriezed and/or written-off because "...you don't look like you belong here..."
