READER: “What naughty little writer habit do you have that you try to get rid of but just can’t?”
Ed Greenwood (author of Elminster Must Die): Not saying “No.” Taking on endless projects, all at once, and not writing with the blazing speed I once did, to do justice to them all. I begin to understand the lure of lichdom; I will have to live forever to get around to all the things I want to do or write.
Philip Athans (author of A Reader’s Guide to R.A. Salvatore’s Legend of Drizzt): Watching TV instead of writing. Having the TV on while writing is fine, but that’s an important distinction I still have trouble pushing through. TV is my big time-sink. (Friend Philip)
Rosemary Jones (author of City of the Dead): Starting something without knowing the end. There’s several great beginnings on my hard drive seeking happy endings…or any ending at all! (Friend Rosemary)
