although i've been a gamer since the basic D&D boxed set (red cover), i haven't ever until last year actually GMed a game--of any sort.
and now, i'm getting ready to run my 12th session as a GM. i've learned a lot from the GMs i've played with in the past, both to populate my respective lists of best practices as well as worst practices. happily, there are tons more of the former than the latter.
but what's exciting is that i'm starting to see on the GM end how to start weaving my plot hooks and my players' staggering vulnerabilities--i mean plot hooks--together! that's really rewarding for me, and i hope that when their subplots start bearing fruit, they're half as entertained as i am developing them!
