Hey there everyone! I hope you're all off to a stellar start to 2011!

I'm putting this blog out there to see if there's any Magic players in the Nashville, TN area looking for some duels. If you're interested in getting together for some Magic games, please message me and we can set up some duel times.

Yay! I'm finally feeling better. Being ill is NOT a way to start the New Year.

At last, my sealed box of MTG 2011 Core Set 36 booster packs came in. I discovered many great new cards that have rounded out my Manas' Libraries. I feel some great contructs coming. Tomorrow night is my local Friday Night Magic and I think I'll be nicely prepared.

Here are a few of the goodies:

My first two contructed Libraries are holding up extremely well. The only match I've lost with my Swamp / Plains Library was during a 'Free for all' when the other three opponents aligned against me. At least I decimated two of the three before the last was able to destroy me. My Mountain / Forest Library is very good also

Hey all! I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Wednesday. It's the last one of the year! Any good resolutions yet? Leave a comment.

My nephew and I want one of these -

I was at the shop yesterday and there was a nice couple talking about Magic and how they'd been 'out of the loop' for a bit. Well a conversation started between them, Anthony (the shop's owner) and me. To all's delight,  we hammered out a game date as the first of the New Year! Casual. Just for fun. Most Libraries and cards can play. Cool!

Hello follow Planeswalkers! I hope your Monday was magnificent!

Of course I took a trip to my local Magic source and scoured through boxes of cards today. I picked up some free Basic Land of the Islands and Plains Mana. I discovered many fantastic MTG11 Sorcery, Instant, Enchantment and Artifact cards. I even had an informative chat with the owner, who happens to judge Magic tournament matches, and discussed Library strategies, playing tactics and expanded my knowledge of Magic's Multiverse. He's a super great guy and takes the time to explain many of my "noobie" questions. Thanks comic-book-store-owner-guy!

With my knowledge growing and some new cards in hand, I'm proud to say that I've constructed my very first Libraries. I had all the Manas spread over the floor,

Hey all...what a great day! I obtained the MTG 2011 Core Set 'Fat Pack' and discovered a Grave Titan:

Many tasty cards for my libraries were uncovered today. There were foil, uncommon and, even, rare cards. It was fun discovering what Creatures, Sorceries, Instants and Artifacts lay sleeping in each booster pack waiting to unleash themselves into the Multiverse! I don't fully understand the extent of the abilities of some cards and have some homework to do.

I had a great evening of play with family and friends. "Here I Rule." was proclaimed many times by yours truly using a variety of decks from my premium libraries [Fire and Lightning and Duel Decks: Garruk vs. Liliana]. I have yet to construct my first library. But...with all the cards obtained today and the Magic: The Gathering

I hope you're all enjoying a great Holiday weekend so far.

Well it's still snowing. The roads are icey. I'll be hoofing it down to the local shop since it's right around the corner. I'm building my own deck and need to get some more packs. I know, I've just started. Why more? Because I want them and being an older player, my allowance is bigger.

Now, since I'm new to Magic: The Gathering, I would appreciate feedback on various decks, packs and on individual card experience. I'll be probing the Forums and trying to glean as much information as I can on building decks, managing libraries and game strategies. I hope to see some good threads from you all.
