Background: Born 5 years after the return of the kingdom to the world, Scipius Navale is the only son of an accomplished alchemist, Tramorn Navale. He was raised to learn the art of alchemy: as the only heir to the family, he was expected to take over the business one day.
But around his eighteenth birthday, Scipius decided to take a different path in his life. He decided to join the army. His father was shocked by this sudden decision. Of course, Scipius had always been strong and hardy, and he always was that one kid the others kids would respect out of fear of being beat up, but his father had hoped that education and age would change that.
So Scipius was quickly accepted in the army, thanks to his natural strenght. During his years in the army, he was often praised by his superiors for his excellent discipline, and he was noticed by a cleric of Bane, the god of war, conquest and of course, discipline. The cleric asked him to join the church and train as a cleric, but Scipius laughed at him, saying that he wanted to be a warrior, not a priest. The cleric then proceeded to attack him and beat him handily in melee combat, asking him again if he wanted to join. Impressed by the cleric's prowess, Scipius joined the militaristic order of Bane. The church of Bane was in good relations with the army, so Scipius was allowed to join them while still retaining his rank.
One night, several years later, Scipius experienced a strange dream: he saw his kingdom on the verge of collapsing, crushed under the attack of a vast army. Inside the dream, a booming voice told him that what he just saw was the future, or at least a possible future. The voice proceeded to tell him that in order to stop that future from happening, he should've left his army career behind to pursue a different path in the world.
Scipius realized that the dream was likely an omen from his own god. He tried talking about the dream to his superiors in the clergy, but no one really took him seriously. After all, he was just a novice.
Scipius, however, decided to believe that his dream was real. He abandoned his successful army career to seek his destiny.
(Some names still pending, I need a big city name) Milo Townsend was originally a member of a Halfling criminal organization in [big city name] called [gang name]. He spent most of his past life shaking down shop keepers for "protection money" and partying like all ale had an expiration date of tomorrow morning. One time during his partying, he got into a fight with a higher-ranking member of his organization, accidentally pushed him out a window, and killed him.
So Milo had to run for his life. He fled to a small village named Shufflebottom and bought a little house on a patch of land. He then started a bee farm (Milo likes food, especially sweets!) and hired a Halfling by the name of Perrin Twindletoe. Milo lived a quiet life for about a year, then some familiar faces from [gang name] began showing up around Shufflebottom. So he decided to lay low and spend some time away from town, maybe earn a little money along the way. Milo decided to become an adventurer!
