If you aren't trying to get an early edition or super-great copy, you can find a copy like this for under $50 on e-bay. It does take a bit of searching.

I generally keep two campaigns running at a time. One is my ongoing HackMaster game (started in 4e, converted to Basic, and will soon convert to full-blown 5e), the other is whatever mini-campaign I'm running at the time. That way I can run whatever shiny new idea comes along and still continue the campaign into which we have so much invested.
I expect that my mini-campaign slot will be shared by the group once my current one ends so I won't be running quite as many of my campaign ideas but...

Not for D&D, but back when I was running a Vampire game I did. I broke each session into three chapters, and each chapter came with an accompanying intro-song to set the tone (and give me a chance to wet my whistle!).
