I like the idea of colorless control decks, because this is the second (third?) one I've built. For this one, i've been wanting to use all the "constant" artifacts which turn off when tapped. I want to be able to tap or untap the artifacts at the appropriate times to gain the advantages of things like howling mine, while avoiding the repercussions of things like static orb.

The other distinct combo in this deck is the delightful interaction of Orb of dreams with Amulet of vigor. It not only makes orb of dreams one sided, it allows the 8-post to come into play untapped.

Colorless Tap Control
Lands
4* Cloudpost
4* Urza's Tower
4* Urza's Mine
4* Urza's Power Plant
4* Vesuva
Artifacts
4* Howling Mine
4* Static Orb
4* Storage Matrix
4* Trinisphere
4* Winter Orb
4* Amulet of Vigor
4* Orb of Dreams
4* Clock of Omens
4* Blinkmoth Urn
4* Goblin Cannon

At this stage I've basically just taken all of the set pieces and thrown them in a pile, it's not so much a "deck" yet, but i'm already surprised at how well it works. For the moment, i've just tossed goblin cannon in as the kill card, as i've yet to decide if i want to go the standard route with decks similar to this by including lodestone myr . I recognize how useful it is, but I have a vauge desire to make this another creatureless control deck.

The problems with the deck thus far are inconsistent drawing of clock of omens (i know that would be helped by lodestone golem for tapping, but i'd also need something to cover cheap untapping) and the need for a more "elegant" kill card. I know i'll probably end up putting lodestone myrs in the deck, but i'd like to explore other options first.

Also, if anyone notices any unintended negative interactions of the constant artifacts that i have in the deck atm, please point them out. I believe careful management of their on/off states should allow me pretty solid control of the table, but I might have missed something.

You're running Static and Winter Orbs and no Icy Manipulators ? Clock of Omens is nice, don't get me wrong, but Icy will also tap down whatever your opponent untaps. Also, you can probably cut out the Vesuva by throwing in stuff like Sol Ring (I shouldn't have to say that one) or Mana Vault .

Good points, but icy manipulator just doesn't have the power it once did, especially with the passing of mana burn. You might be right in practice tho, i'll have to give it a shot. Clock of omens is there in order to easily tap the artifacts i need to turn off.

You did remind me of another card that might be useful though, Relic Barrier , but it might be too limited.

Vesuva is included because Amulet of vigor fixes its only drawback, like cloudpost, but you're right about the potential power of the mana artifacts with the artifact untappers, but they're all in other decks atm.

I could include voltaic key too, but if i need too many tap/untappers, then the deck gets unwieldy.

Thanks for the feedback.

And perhaps you are right. But in a deck like yours it is still a very strong card. "What did you untap this turn? ... Ok, cool, during your upkeep I tap them."

Expedition Map makes sure you get the lands you need. And by the "lands you need" I'm considering the inclusion of Blinkmoth Well .

How to autocard and use decklist format  ---> Show
For autocarding, write [c][/c] with the name of the card inside it.

[c]Island[/c] = Island

For linking a card to Gatherer without writting the name of said card for readers, use the autocard brackets together with and equal sign and right the name of the real card. Then put the message you want inside the tags, like you would do with autocarding. Like this:

[c=Curse of the Cabal]Captain Never-resolves[/c] = Captain Never-resolves

For using the decklist format, follow this:
[deck]
4* Terramorphic Expanse
4* Evolving Wilds
...
[/deck]

It equals:

4 x Terramorphic Expanse
4 x Evolving Wilds
...

I like storm crow because I really like crows in real life, as an animal, and the card isn't terribly stupid, but packs a good deal of nostalgia and also a chunck of the game's history. So it's perhaps one of the cards I have most affection to, but not because "lol storm crow is bad hurr hurr durr".

Oh, it's a brilliant plan.  You see, Bolas was travelling through shadowmoor, causing trouble, when he saw a Wickerbough Elder with its stylin' dead scarecrow hat.  Now, Bolas being Bolas took the awesome hat and he put it on his head, but even with all his titanic powers of magic he couldn't make it fit.  He grabbed some more scarecrows, but then a little kithkin girl asked if he was trying to build a toupee.  "BY ALL THE POWERS IN THE MULTIVERSE!" he roared, "I WILL HAVE A HAT WORTHY OF MY GLORY." and so he went through his Dark Lore of Doom (tm) looking for something he could make into a hat that would look as stylish on him as a scarecrow does on a treefolk.  He thought about the Phyrexians, but they were covered in goopy oil that would make his nonexistant hair greasy.  He Tried out angels for a while but they didn't sit quite right.  Then, he looked under "e" (because in the Elder Draconic alphabet, "e" for Eldrazi is right next to "h" for Hat) in his Dark Lore of Doom and saw depictions of the Eldrazi, and all their forms.
"THIS SHALL BE MY HAT!" he declared, poking a picture of Emrakul, "AND WITH IT I WILL USHER IN A NEW AGE OF DARKNESS -- ER, I MEAN A NEW AGE OF FASHION!"

And so Nicol Bolas masterminded the release of the Eldrazi.

Yeah, really. If my deck was going to cost $1000+, I'd at least make it good.

That manabase is actually really consistent without any land search, the only problems i've ever had is if i get an opening hand full of vesuvas, but i'd mulligan that.

Blinkmoth Well certainly fits ideologically with this deck, but I don't think it needs any more lands, and I'm not sure i'd wanna take any out.

I havn't worked on thist deck much lately, but the feedback is still appreciated.

ur deck really gave me a different look on colorless control. I made a colorless control that used some similar control aspects but also mainly used the intersction between bottled cloister and ensnaring bridge . And another colorless counter tht I cant remember the name of.
I think im gunna try,ur idea now.

If you are having trouble finding pieces, like Clock of Omens, then you could play with Mangara's Tome... or Planar Portal, you have the mana for it.
