I'm getting pumped for ConQuest Vegas! It's coming up March 19th-21st. It'll be the first time I've been to this convention. It's a wargaming and strategy convention, so I think DDM will fit right in. They are letting me run a Dungeon Delve and an Arena Skirmish Tournament at the convention. I've never been the host of a game at a convention before, only a player, so this will be an education . I'm a bit nervous about this but at the same time really excited! I love playing D&D and DDM so I think my enthusiasm for the game and for meeting people will carry me through.
I hope that lots of people who subscribe to the Wizards Community will be there and will check out my booth. The Dungeon Delve on Friday is a pretty free form, jump in any time type of game, so if you don't get in at the start, don't worry! I'll let you in the game at any point. I'll have minis, stat cards, dice etc. for playing so don't worry if you don't bring any DDM stuff with you. Same goes for the tournament. You can get in on it on either Saturday or Sunday as I'll run a tournament on each day.
Check it out at www.conquestvegas.com
See you there!

The next Vegas Game Day will be at Las Vegas Library on Las Vegas Blvd and Washington. This event will be one week before ConQuest Vegas at Bally's Casino on the 19 - 21st of March. At this Vegas Game Day, we will be preparing for doing a demo at ConQuest Vegas. I'll bring as much information about ConQuest Vegas as I can to the Vegas Game Day. We'll be talking about what we'd like to do at the convention, who can go, etc.
We'll also be playing a dungeon delve that will start out as a solitaire Monster slaying and treasure hunting scenario similar to the one published on www.wizards.com in their DDM archives and to the Dungeon Delves Rules from DDM Guild. Then, as people come to the table, they can form warbands of adventurers and join in the treasure hunt. Players can work co-operatively or competitively to defeat the monsters that I (who will switch from solitaire mode to the DM of a group mode) will control.
Players will probably be allowed 150 to 200 point constructed warbands. The most powerful DM controlled monsters I will use as DM will be revealed as the adventurers get within a certain number of squares of the treasure trove. We'll be using maps with both forest and cavern terrain.
This is the type of scenario I have thought of using at ConQuest Vegas as it will be a good way to show off what DDM Guild games are like in more aspects than a simple skirmish scenario would. Plus, it'll enable me to show people how they can play DDM Guild games by themselves or with groups of other players.
I hope to see you at Las Vegas Library to try this scenario out and to talk about ConQuest Vegas.

We were so impressed with the facility and great people at the Little Shop of Magic on Flamingo and Durango, that we're coming back! We met a lot of great people at the Shop who wanted to play but were already scheduled to play something else. So, hopefully, they can all play on Sunday the 13th. I hope that lots of Vegas area folks here on Wizards Community can come too. Clark County DDM Guild will be demo-ing and playing skirmishes in the afternoon. This time, there will be prizes for winners of skirmishes! We'll give out prizes after each round of skirmishes, so don't worry if you can't stay until 8 pm. We'll also do a bit of mini trading if anyone wants to. Joining CCDDM is free though donations of money, gaming gear for guild use, loaning of minis to those who don't bring any etc. are always welcome! Be sure to RSVP at www.meetup.com/ccddmguild. It's isn't mandatory, but I'd love to know how many are coming. See you then!

The first meeting of CCDDM Guild will be held on December 2nd at The Little Shop of Magic on Flamingo and Decatur in Las Vegas, NV, around 3 or 4 pm and running as long as anyone wants to play or until they close the store .
This meeting will be a demo with a lot of showing and learning going on. I'll be playing a Solitaire variant of the Dungeon Run and will set up Skirmishes and maybe even a Dungeon Delve if we get four or more players interested in doing so.
This is a new chapter of DDM Guild (ddmguild.com), so come and get in on the ground floor! Help shape the future of the guild and bring your ideas. The current group name, mascot, logos and house rules are my ideas but I'm open to suggestions.
Future days and locations of meetings will depend somewhat on what players who come to this meeting want to do. If another location, day, time etc. would work better for you, let me know and I'll see if I can arrange it.
Also check out our page on meetup.com! It's called 'Clark County Dungeons and Dragons Minis Guild'. You can RSVP for the meeting there (even if you don't RSVP, come anyway). You can also share photos, files and post discussions about the group on that site.
Feel free to contact me on vegasgamers.com and on facebook.com too!

In addition to skirmishes and dungeon delves, there are also mini scenarios that I have recently found that are written especially for DDM 2.0! They use the same minis and maps that other DDM 2.0 games use but clever and imaginative folks have written up some really interesting looking scenarios for them that make a nice bridge between the more traditional D&D quests and campaigns and DDM 2.0. I'll bring print outs of these scenarios with me to events in case anyone would like to try them out. You can also see them on the wiki for DDM. They are actual quests with details and everything, yet they are still much shorter than a lot of D&D campaigns are.
Go to
community.wizards.com/ddm_guild/wiki/ddm...
to check them out.
I will also bring the book "Dungeon Delves" published by WOC to meetings of CCDDM Guild as well. We can make many of the maps for the scenarios in that book with the dungeon tiles and maps I have. Everybody who comes should bring any maps they have too in case we want to do a scenario that I don't have a map for. The scenarios in this book have three encounters each so they are fairly short too.
I am working on getting a chapter of DDM Guild (ddmguild.com) going in the Las Vegas Area. I have permission to host games at Little Shop of Magic on Flamingo and Decatur and at Vegas Game Days at Las Vegas Library on Las Vegas Blvd and Washington. I will also go to Action Comics and Sports on Boulder Highway and Lake Mead in Henderson and ask there. Anyone who loves DDM 2.0 or who is curious about it is more than welcome to come.
