So one of the things that has been prevalent in recent editions is bonus stacking. I'm thinking this needs to be curbed and I think I have a way to do it.
This may not sit will with the CharOp boards, but I think it needs to be done. If we go with the whole specific beats general design base, then we can insert a statement under bonuses that reads something like.
"A bonus is typed based on the source of the bonus unless the source specifically states a bonus type. Bonuses of different types will stack, while bonuses of the same type will not stack. If a weapon and feat both apply a damage bonus to attacks then the bonuses stack, but if two feats apply a bonus only the larger will apply."

I agree that there isn't as much information put into a 2 page layout, especially when you are introducing 3 or 4 new types of never before published...

With the onset of Essentials and it's break from the AEDU paradigm it got me thinking of how things could be... Later.
I'm rather fond if AEDU. Remembering my feelings when first perusing the PHB it was one of "Holy crap, did they figure out a way to balance the classes?" But that is neither here nor there.
I started thinking of alternate ideas on how the AEDU and how things may work at some indeterminate future. I already know this is going to go against some individual's principals, but hey, what's a little controversy between friends?
Much of what people talk about is support. Usually for their favorite class, or a class that would be their favorite if there was more content for that class. I used that as my main focus point on this little experiment. I tried to come up with a way...
