Great update Brian! And a great time as well Steve. Good job on running the game. The story was also well done along with the voices for the critters that we encountered. Nice!
Image of the gloves of the rat, in case you didn't get my joke: ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21iP7YeET... You do really have this item, however. Epilogue number two: The bartenders of Hillsfar salute you and thank you for your hard work. Langham gives you the promised 2,000 g.p.
Ah, my half-human friend... I was going more for the, "Puss in Boots" type of humor. And that video was indeed disturbing, though I did like Silence of the Lambs when it came out. At least, for the most part I liked it. Matt, thanks for posting this so promptly. And it's nice that we had some company to Hillsfar and I enjoy the extra little bit of RP with these drunken werehawks... oh wait... that was Duffy, doh! PS: Nice glove picture Sharky, lol!

Langham says: Ah, you guys are thorough. The merchant's name is Bookers. Since he left Hillsfar this morning to pursue a purhcase, we won't be able to talk to him. I want to leave for Trice tomorrow morning. But I can tell you more of what he told me. Booker went to Trice four days ago. He said he knocked on several doors. Booker went to Trice four days ago. He said he knocked on several doors. One house had a door ajar, and the inside looked like a mess - perhaps someone had come inside searching for something? He found blood on the grass outside the front door. That's not a good sign. Booker opened the door and let himself into the public house - and that was in disarray. No one was home. Spots of blood on the floor.
Now, as for these dogs - I'm not completely sure they were dogs at all. I don't think Booker knows much about animals. Four legs, gray wiry fur, and the size of a big dog. Yes. But they had sharp teeth and sharp claws. That makes me think we're actually dealing with some giant vermin - weasel or rat, maybe? Perhaps a cat, or a hyena-like creature?
Now, if your group can help, I want to leave in the morning. Get your spells prepared. I have a pair of horse-drawn wagons that can carry a total of 12 people. If any of you have horses or riding animals, you're welcome to bring them. Kupp will come along, as well as a valet to watch the cart and horses. This big half-ogre? He's coming as well? My, those poor horses. Yes, we can bring him too. It's a five hour journey into the hills to Trice.
Kupp said he could draw us a map of the town from his memory. I'm sure that would be useful. See you tomorrow then.
*Raven ponders to himself* "Sounds like some sort of dire vermin... or possibly... Gnolls?" *he sighs heavily after slowly drawing out his last word and speaking quietly to himself again* "Could it be the Red Wizards? Or the Zents? Either way, I will enjoy killing these creatures and hunting their masters. And of course, taking all their gold." *A wicked smile brielfy touches Raven's lips as he thinks upon what riches await him.*
Good news and bad news, then. The party can sell the five masterwork double axes and the five masterwork chain shirts for 1,200 g.p. The bad news is your bill for staying in Hillsfar for a week - and living well - is 200 g.p. So add 1,000 g.p. to the party fund.
Let us also not forget how Avveron's doomsday trap completely collapsed the forges and caused an 80' diameter cave-in. Note that 'Earthquake' is normally an 8th-level cleric spell...
So my trap did work. Nice. Wonder if I took out any creatures with it. So what is this about an earthquake spell? Did you all feel an earthquake this last session? Nice updated by the way. Hopefully next week I can make it.

/cheer ! Quote of the night: "At least he didn't say, 'Gulgar JUNIOR has FALLEN!'" -Thomas Pius II I vote that we explore, seek out treasure, and try to get enough experience for everyone to level up to 5. Then head over to Hillsfar and get Raven some bad-@$$ claw-extensions.

Well we planned for the worst against Gulgar and the gods and dice were with us. There are a number of locations in this stronghold that warrant additional exploration. I feel a complete sweep of the uppper structure is in order as well as a detailed exploration of the lower levels. Your humble healer and buff specialist - Thomas.
Just so you know, Raven was very carefully studying all of the scions that were rescued. Who knows it may come in handy helping the true Blade get his position back. And yeah, Gulgar is our next target I believe.
I'm lousy with names in real life, and I'm lousy with names in this DnD world. Does anyone - DM or player - remember the names & professions of the people we rescued? I can't even remember how many there were. Six? I know some of you keep diligent notes, but obviously I did not.
Raven ponders before speaking to himself quietly, "Hmm, perhaps this half-orc can detect thoughts. I shall have to be mindful of what I say. How very, interesting..."
Wait, Marc, are you talking about selling the orb and the scepter? I bet the Zhents would pay a great price for those! Then we just take the money and move far, far away and begin our lives anew as a C/N party. Or did you mean the other stuff? That's probably it. Either way, we should do a detect evil on everything that was in that room.

Can you detect curse as well? They may not be evil per se, but I bet they have some sort of cursed, negative aspect to them. Why else would they be sequestered with the evil artifacts?
