About Me:
I started playing Dungeons and Dragons with the original, 3 book boxed set, along with Greyhawk and Eldritch Wizardry. I soon moved to AD&D when it came out and played and DM'd extensively throughout college, and a bit after until my group split apart.
After that, I started playing various other games: Traveller, a homebrew Superheroes game, and a couple different types of GURPS campaigns. The gaming group I was with then didn't want to play Fantasy games, and I was more into more gritty and realistic skill based systems. I came back to D&D recently, having skipped 2e and 3.x and even missing Unearthed Arcana and the Fiend Folio in 1e. I suppose that qualifies me as a grognard, but I really like 4e. I've come to appreciate the heroic and archetypal feel again, bringing me back to the sense of wonder and possibilty of my first games.
Movies:
Many and varied. To name just a few of my favorites: LotR, Serenity, Blade Runner, Stardust, Princess Bride, Braveheart.
TV Shows:
Stargate: SG-1, Eureka, SG-U, Sanctuary, Burn Notice, Psych, CSI, Good Eats, Iron Chef America, Countdown with Kieth Olberman
Books, Comics and Graphic Novels:
I'm a voracious reader, mostly Science Fiction, Fantasy and Mystery. A few favorites: LotR (of course), Katherine Kurts Deryni series, Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth Series, Jacqueline Carrey's Kushiel series, Elizabeth Peters Amelia Peabody series, Robert A. Heinlein (just about anything by him)
Music:
Pretty eclectic. Classical (Bach, Mozart, Handel, Rimsky-Korsakov), Rock (The Beetles, The Doors, Hendrix, Kansas, Queen, Devo, B-52's), Celtic Folk music, Enya.
Hobbies:
Medieval History, Cooking, Brewing, Winemaking
