@Alphastream: Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh is another one I know lots of people who are about 5 yrs older than I am like. As for my group.... two small kids leaves me w/o time to have one right now. :( Hoping I can find a group that'll let me coordinate Skype/G+ time with them.

Good stuff here. Had noticed myself that the old school adventure modules could be raided for Next, and happy to hear that it's probably not by accident. Can't wait for the character creation rules (as well as other rules clarifications) to really let us loose!

Um, no. 4th Edition was a dummy version of DnD to cater to the MMO Generation of players, i.e. the kids. First and 2nd Edition were far more versatile as far as DM control and player character development. 3.5 was okay but fourth just stripped the game to a bare bones hack and slash system that needed minitures to help the players "imagine" the scenario they were in. As you said, your preferences are not everyone's. Thank the gods.
